When the first thing your hostess says to you, seating you at a table, is "We're out of eggs, sausage, corn, and mussels, is that going to be a problem?". You know it's going to be a problem. But I was thinking, well it's lucky that I wasn't there for any of those, I wanted a boil of crawfish, snow crab legs, and shrimp. The restaurant was virtually empty except for one other table. The wait times were agonizingly extensive and the server had no empathy for it It was too cold and uncomfortable as well. The food itself was overcooked and rubbery. Ordered to go that took 45 mins to cook. Waited in the car only to receive a different order. We paid $60 plus tip but received a $38 worth of food- no lobster with different sauce) + soup I think) We only realized when we got home (30mins drive). We called right away to let them know and apparently they are aware we didnt get the correct order. They wanted us to drive back to get our correct food. (Are they going to pay foe our gas? I doubt) We basically paid more for the food we DIDNT want and also have been inconvenienced. Imagine that! No solution provided. Definitely needs more training -all employees up to management. This error can be prevented with proper training or hiring the correct employees. Food is good though. If you can tolerate subpar customer service and willing to pay more than what you get then you should be fine. read more

Absolutely horrible service the waiter who stated he was the manager was extremely rude. We waited over 2 hours for our food even. The place was completely empty and the waiter was no where to be seen for over a hour and a half. I was sitting with an empty drink for the whole time. The food was absolutely disgusting too. First time stopping in on a Saturday evening. My husband has been extremely curious about this place in recent weeks. We were greeted promptly and our party of 3 was immediately sat. It was nice seeing the layout as the same. However, now there is a nautical theme coupled with old license plates and license plate stickers. Our waitress, Shay greeted us and asked for drink orders. Unfortunately we hadn't received a drink menu. She brought over a paper printout and told us this page of the menu was "on order". We just went with it. I opted for a Mai Tai. I will say it wasn't bad. You could actually taste the alcohol which is always a plus. We weren't really feeling much like seafood bags so opted for crab cakes, calamari, chicken tender basket (my son), catfish basket, and a fried oyster basket w/Sweet Potato Fries. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was fresh. The items were seasoned well and the only complaint was that my husband's fries were overdone. I was visiting Ohio for work and this was the closest place that I could find that I knew will have me a absolutely stuffed and I was right! The vibe: dark and dingy comes to mind right away. The weird pirate and the vibe is a little odd. It reminds me of an Applebees that goes out of business and then gets remodeled into something else. I saw a large TV somewhere so it makes me think sports bar. I wasn't here for the vibe so I didn't pay too close attention. The food: I ordered a pound of shrimp (headless) and a pound of sausage. Added eggs and potatoes. Came in that fancy bag which was fun to open. Also got an order of chicken wings that I didn't feel was worth snapping a picture of, but they were a tad over cooked. I guess better over than under, right? Speaking of overcooked, the shrimp and sausage were also over cooked, but I was so hungry that I didn't care. The flavor was quite good. Not too spicy, but still a good kick. The service: service was great. My server didn't write down my long order so I was somewhat worried after he left, but it came out correctly so props to him. The hostess was nice and attentive. Didn't need a drink refill and I liked that my server got me in and out very fast. Asked for a box and check and was good to go in a minute. Couldn't ask for more. This establishment has gone down completely. I hadn't been there in about a year. However, my husband and I went here for dinner last week, and I became terribly il afterwards. I threw up the entire seafood meal that I had just consumed and my stool was like literal water. Also, as displeased with how salty, yet flavorless the food was, I kept eating because it was late and we hadn't eaten. So, I just dealt with it. I used to love going to eat here but the food has definitely went down the drain. I took a break from coming here due to the food and I finally took my daughter here yesterday for her birthday and spent $145 and it was a total waste. they literally took a piece of corn and cut it into 3 pieces for each bag we had, my daughters always sub for extra corn due to not eating the sausage or egg and let me just say they cut up the corn like it was extra(LOL) I stopped a worker and said when they start cutting the corn the workers said ma'am this been like this I've been working here two years and I said sir I've came here often and these corn cobs ate cut needless to say the food was terrible and the potatoes was soooo small and was shorted on those as well. I'm done coming here after taking a break for over a month to come back to the same BS is insulting. not to mention i spent $145 and the food was terrible I'll just start going to juicy seafood. read more

Carlos was our server and he was very nice and attentive. Our appetizer came out fast and was satisfying. Same goes for my boil bag, it came out very quickly and it was so good. Went to dinner with 2 other couples and I was the only one who ordered the seafood boil. I got the special of crab legs with mussels and headless shrimp with 2 corn cobs and 2 red skins and 2 hard boiled eggs. I ordered it with all the seasoning. My 16yo and I like to go out to dinner once a week to catch up and kick back a bit. Tonight we decided to go to Crafty Crab and see what it was all about. My kid got the Crab cakes and hush puppies and really enjoyed them, where as I got the fried Tilapia with French fries and it was absolutely awful. The fries were oily and tasted like fish (big no-no) and the fish, if at all breaded, were simply fried and served. That's it, no flavor/spice or anything added. Over fried/cooked and dry to the point where I couldn't eat it. Server seemed pretty concerned with my not liking the food and offered a different dish for me all together, but at this point we're both done eating and I'm not feeling like a different dish will taste any better so I decline his offer. I have barely touched my food and am thinking they shouldn't make me pay for it - but they did! How do you hand someone their bill knowing they couldn't eat your food a bill? "Oh, our food was oily/greasy AND dry with NO flavor at all to the point where you couldn't eat it? Here's our bill for your inconvenience ". Maybe the Snow crab is cooked better but I won't be going back to pay for it - that's for sure! read more

The food is delicious - crab, shrimp, prawns, mussels, clams, served in a very unique way, as a seafood boil in big bags. This made for a very fun dinner with the family. We put our bibs on and worked on it! The restaurant has a fun vibe with decorations like a huge crab on the ceiling, and it also has a jukebox. The service is also friendly and polite, our server walked us through the whole menu and how the food is served (and later on gave a recommendation on how to reheat leftovers). The prices were reasonable for the fresh quality and the huge portions. The owner came over and kindly welcomed us, and let us try some of his new sauce. We all enjoyed ourselves - it was more than just a dinner at a restaurant, it was an experience! Thank you for a lovely evening. read more

Classless Carrie If I could give this place zero stars I would! My family and I were looking for a nice seafood restaurant to visit in the Cleveland area and we found the Crafty Crab, more like the Shifty Crab. We ordered our food with no problems, and then I ordered a strawberry margarita. This was the ultimate downfall of our experience. First, it took 25 minutes to receive the margarita. (The restaurant was fairly empty). Once my drink finally arrived it looked like fruit punch, not a margarita. It tasted like straight syrup and no tequila. I was drinking it through a straw and it had the consistency of cough syrup. I then told my waitress I didn't want the drink because it wasn't made right. She went to her manager who told her no refunds and gave her a cup of tequila to have me pour into the syrup. We told the waitress we didn't want it, and her manager Carrie came and decided to argue us down about taking the drink off. She then provided a juvenile demonstration of how I could fix my own drink by pouring the tequila in a cup and mix it in. I informed her once again I didn't want the drink, and my mother said "If you (Carrie) were at a restaurant and it wasn't made correctly you would want them to rectify the situation." Which Carrie's response was "Yea. But I don't go to restaurants looking for things for free." Mind you we had ordered plenty of food and were planning on paying for everything else. Just not the drink. Carrie decided to die on this hill for a $9 drink...quite telling. Along with her comments about our character and who were as people. Carrie is not only the manager but also one of the owners, this sort of behavior is disgusting and shows how she cannot control herself or the words that come out of her mouth. I would warn everyone to steer clear from this restaurant and the rude, juvenile, and boorish Carrie. read more

The boom sauce it excellent! I was sad to hear from one of our waitresses that they had been slow due to them not having a liquor license. Enjoyed my experience there just as well without it. A little late with my review but I just downloaded yelp! We came here for the first time ever to celebrate not only my birthday but my surprise proposal!! The staff was absolutely fantastic and made me feel very special on that day (June 15 2023) considering we had a large group also attend us & my now fiancé, their service was PHENOMENAL, walked us through the menu and how to order our food properly. The owner or manager (not sure which one) graciously offered my table a complimentary bottle of champagne for the celebration!!:) Our waiter was very patient & polite, and helped us with any questions we had.. and we had ALOT! Now let's get on to the most important part... THE FOOD?!? chefs kiss, fantastic, delicious and everything we asked for! I made reservations for my son 6th birthday about a week in advance on October 13th 2022. From the moment I spoke with someone to make the reservations everything was great. The person I spoke with was very professional and polite. I was contacted the day of by the GM to confirm the reservations. I informed him of my son bday and he advised me everything will be taken care of. When we arrived I was pleasantly greeted by the GM and he informed me of the seating arrangements. The moment we sat down everything was perfect and hands on. The GM was very attentive to my son . He showed him around the restaurant and provided him a birthday drink.
