However, the bar manager, Michael Herase, initially told us that because I didn't have my ID, no one at our table could be served, which was presented to us as an alcohol-law requirement. That was a LIE. ; being unable to verify my age does not automatically mean a legally identified 21+ guest cannot be served. He then told us that if they did serve my girlfriend and he caught me taking even a sip of her drink, he would kick us out. I had absolutely no intention of drinking her drink, making the warning feel completely unnecessary and intimidating. I work in Food & Beverage management myself and understand responsible alcohol service, but this interaction went far beyond enforcing a policy. We were the only two people in the restaurant, and the entire experience felt hostile, intimidating, and as though we were being singled out and monitored. Most concerning, the interaction felt racially motivated. I cannot speak to his intentions, but that is how the treatment made us feel. Management should seriously review this interaction and how alcohol policies are being communicated to guests. I would avoid this location, especially when Michael Herase is managing the bar.

We started with generous portions of the poke nachos and gator bites. The nachos were a wonderful mix of tuna and avocado on crispy, thin wonton chips. The gator bites were well cooked and came with a delicious remoulade. Next we enjoyed the blackened fish tacos and donkey on crack. The tacos were the star here and we'll return to get more! Donkey on crack is amazing and rich, good for sharing. We finished with a yummy bread pudding and excellent key lime pie, the crust and bite were perfection. This was all served to us by the lovely Gia, who encouraged us to write a review. We said Chuck's won restaurant week for us! Got a couple of plates of mahi-mahi blackened with hushpuppies and a side. I got garlic green beans. My parents had the salad. Ask for the creamy Greek dressing. It is so good. Great with the fish and the salad. (It also helped as the mahi-mahi was a bit dry.) The strawberry lemonade is served in a tall frosted mug. So cute. So refreshing. Love the fresh strawberries and sliced lemons. We sat outside at first, but then moved quickly inside as it poured rain. Thank you also for the slices of red velvet cake. What a sweet treat to cap off a nice weekend meal with the family. Parking is easy. The restaurant is cute and cozy. Not crowed on a Sunday night on Memorial Day Weekend, but note..they close at 8 PM.

The service is always friendly and the breakfast is always tasty. Like most places that serve breakfast in Tallahassee, they are busy during breakfast hours but, since they serve breakfast all day long, we usually come after the rush is over. There is plenty of parking even though they share a parking lot with many other food choices and a hotel.
