We came here the other day, we walked into the pro shop and there was no worker to be found. After waiting 10 min we went outside to find the worker smoking. He later then came in didn't greet us and was not friendly. We then paid our round and left the pro shop. Only to find him following us outside, and proceeded to watch us get our carts set up and drive away. Definitely will not be coming back. (The workers name was Rick.) Not to mention the conditions of the course is not worth the price!! Holes all over the fairway and greens. read more

I think I know why they call this Cranes Landing. Not because of the beautiful crane birds you'd expect to see (there isn't any FYI), but because this is where every crane operator comes to conduct their training on the fairways and greens. How do you charge over $60 to golf here? Have you guys taken a drive around your course?? I am going to say no. Your entire fairways are flipped upside down, the grass in facing down and the dirt is facing up and it's in PILED CHUNKS!!! Must be from the Crane Operator Trainings. I wouldn't pay $3 to golf here again. My buddy said he thinks the damage is caused by grubs...not a chance a fucking grub worm causes an F5 tornado on your fairways, but we rolled with it and now that hole is referred to as "The Grub Hazard Hole". The Greens...oh boy, you mean the Browns...it looks like every animal in the area went to each green and dragged their assholes from end to end, like a dog does on your carpet. HOLE #10!!!! You guys ever see the movie a Bugs Life?? Yep, this movie was actually filmed on this green. There were 10,000,000 ant hills on this green (brown). My ball literally demolished at least 100 ant homes on the way to the cup...poor ants. I felt like a Pest Control Technician after this hole. Hole #17...there are two fucking holes on the brown (green)....which one do I hit my ball into?? I see Juan and Poncho driving the gator carts around with nothing but logs in the back.. Get off the gator and water the course, wtf these guys doing all day cuz they aint fixing fairways and greens I'll tell ya that. After we golfed 9, we went into the clubhouse to get a couple dogs. The sign posted says "Hot Food Open 7am to 7pm". It was 10:00am, the young lady said "oh yea, my co-worker just went to go buy hot dogs, can you come back in 30 minutes or at the end of your round". WHAT! So you mean to tell me my options are 1. Go golf 3 more holes and turn back around, causing delays or 2. Let my stomach fucking eat itself for another 2.5 hours and come back when I am done? How about...idk, be prepared, sounds like a pretty good idea, right? Honestly, I cannot believe this place is operable. Who the fuck owns a course like this, drives around it and says "yep, $62 outta do it for the rates". Get your head out of the gutter and sell this place, make it a landfill, its halfway there already. read more

Of all the courses in the area, Crane's Landing is my absolute favorite. The course is located in a beautiful enclave called the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The front nine is short but tight; while the back nine is long and more open. The greens are big and very well maintained. The practice area is great. Pace of play is never problem. They have brand new carts, too! Everyone who works there is friendly and courteous. And, if you need lessons, they have a fantastic teaching pro by the name of Erik. read more

we've made it an annual event to come to this course and get in a round for the last few years. The course is well kept and plays pretty easily. The front 9 is shorter than the back 9 and we would have been able to finish in under 4 hours, but a couple of slow groups in front of us. they also have nice carts that have GPS in them which is a nice plus, so you don't have to guess your distance to the green. You can even order food from your cart and it'll be ready once you get to the clubhouse! the bad part is that it is kinda pricey, but thankfully, I haven't had to pay for it the last few times we've been here! read more

Played this course on a Saturday morning and The first thing I noticed were the mosquitos. I've never played a course with so many areas densely filed with mosquitos. I left the course destroyed by a dozen bites. The course is in rough shape. It seems to be in a flood prone location and so much of the area surrounding the fairways was waterlogged. Some pets were shut down and alternate holes were created. This made navigation by cart slightly confusing. Hope they are able to bring the course back to its luster, or lower the green fees. read more

The clubhouse staff was friendly which is the only reason I didnt rate 1 star. No driving range, and the practice green is microscopic. The course is in absolutely dreadful condition. I paid 59$ for a tee time on Sunday morning and feel completely ripped off. On many of the holes the fairway and rough were not even grass, they were bare ground or mud. Very disappointed. Seems like with all the money was put into renovating the hotel they could put something into the course, but sadly the course has been terribly neglected. Save your money and play elsewhere. This was a great course. However, the best part was Lou! Lou was extremely informative and attentive to his guests. He went out of his way to tell us about the course, knew our names, checked in on us and even gave us suggestions on where to go nearby. It was superb customer service. Thanks Lou! read more

This golf course is one that I love to play at. The staff is very friendly and warm. If you need any assistance with something they are able to get on it right away. The greens are very clean and as you play it is very nice and scenic. I would definitely return to this course. read more

Fun course. Front 9 plays shorter than the back 9. Played 18 in 3 1/2 hours on a Sunday. The course was in very good shape.

Played this course a few years back after the floods when 4 or 5 holes were under water. Since then They have really manicured the course well. Cannot complain about the price or track but I played it on 7/29 and it took 5 hours to play with hardly anyone on the course because there was no rangers on the course to police the players. First of all there was a twosome in front of us that were playing two balls each and were extremely slow to boot. three holes ahead of them were empty. Could not persuade them to let us pass either. we get to hole 14 and it is extremely backed up and we noticed groups ahead of us that had been behind us the whole way. this would be a perfect place to play golf if it had a ranger staff at all. read more

The course is maintained fairly well, but there are 2 main problems with this course: 1.) It's pretty expensive for such a short and easy course. I've seen rates as high as $70. And 2.) You really don't need a driver. Many of the par 4's are almost the same length and you have to play 2 or 3 of them in a row! That's goofy course design. I can find much better courses for better deals in the Chicagoland area and only go there when it's super cheap. read more

I am a member being that it is still season this year, but i refuse to return. The members are RUDE, they ball hawk, and since the rangers are NEVER on the course to police the players, it always is a 5 hr game even when its not full. I would never recommend this course to anyone because of these issues. The staff needs to be replaced by people who will enforce the rules and not let people delay everyone else's fun. read more

Doesn't look like they have ever updated this place. The clubhouse and bar area looks straight out of the 70s. There is no driving range to wrk up which is a disappointment. The course is WAY overpriced for the crappy shape that it is in. Ground is hard, no rough because there is just patchy grass everywhere. The greens are in terrible condition. Has the feel of a $20 public park district course. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because you do get GPS in the carts. read more

A mediocre, overpriced course with awful customer service. When I called up, I was told I could use my 2-for-1 coupon with the twilight rate. When I got there, they wanted to charge me the $75 rate, rather than the $45 twilight rate. I told them I was informed the price would be $45, but they didn't care. This wasn't the first incident of bad customer service, but for me, it will be the last as I'm not returning. read more

The Crane's Landing staff in the Pro Shop and out on the course always provide exceptional service. They are the greatest and are always ready to see to your needs. The course itself is beautifully maintained and the Des Plaines River winding through it provides a challenge to any golfer. The prices are reasonable and they often have deals for certain times of the day. The Pro Shop has a nice variety for women and men and they often have sales (very cool golf shoes). I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a wonderful golfing experience. read more

I have played here many times. This last time was the worst. I arrive at the course and a young guy happily takes my bag and puts it in the cart, i go to pay the 35 dollar twilight fee. I had a 9 hole weekend rain check in which i payed 50 for the round. They would not accept it, no huge deal. I go to my cart and have a cooler with nothing but water. The old man tells me no coolers, not even water, seriously! So i put them all in the cart. I went with my mom BC i am only 15 and can't drive the cart. I come here all the time with my grandpa and he is never charged. Instead they charge my mom the FULL greens fee all 35 dollars. It had rained a little overnight and the putting green had standing water on it. The course had no rough, fairways were nice, tons of divots and they looked old, meaning they don't repair them at night. Greens were inconsistant and slow. Bunkers had standing water. I have noticed this course can hold about a dixie cup of water without flooding. It is monotonus and not very fun to play. No pace of play enforcement. There was like a 7 some in front of me and they refused to let me play through. Called clubhouse and they said, sorry deal with it. I will not be coming back. Better off playing Arboretum or White Deer Run instead, both excellent courses with supurb greens. read more
