Pretty good layout for a municipal course...I have enjoyed playing it during the week when it's not super crowded...but if you value your time and the quality of your golf experience, DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE ON THE WEEKEND. At least when I played there was nobody enforcing pace of play, so we were well on track for a five + hour round of golf while the group in front of us was busy plumb bobbing its putts for quadruple bogey ... with an entire hole open in front of them. Could be a lovely round with a little bit of gentle guidance from rangers to keep pace, and some regular reminders to adhere to some of the basic courtesies like raking bunkers, replacing divots, and repairing ball marks (none of which seemed to be being done on a particularly regular basis...). read more

I am sharing some concerns from our 2025 season outing. Unfortunately, play was significantly impacted due to active maintenance on the greens--specifically punching and sanding--during our round. On top of that, the course was cart path only, even though conditions didn't appear wet enough to justify that restriction. A 90-degree rule could have been a more reasonable option. As a result, several players were unable to finish due to the physical strain of walking, especially for those with health issues. Most notably, a man who works as a starter and is still recovering from an illness had to quit mid-round and was understandably frustrated. Do you have any suggestions on how we can better coordinate with Glenview Park staff moving forward? It doesn't feel like our concerns are being acknowledged, and it's affecting participation and enjoyment. Thanks for your time, read more

Desk staff are polite, management policies are grossly out of bounds, terrible communication with maintenance happening while you golf - greens are patchy and aerated while you play, sand traps are basically MUD, no soft sand anywhere on course. For over $75 with a cart, there are many better options. Senior Management and some tee callers are arrogant and NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. read more

If this isn't the slowest golf course on the North Shore, it's definitely in the discussion. The first hole is entirely too short and tight. Inevitably, someone's drive ends up in the trees on the right, has to spend a few minutes finding their ball, and every tee time gets pushed back. Even if they hit it straight, it's such a short par 4, the group in front of you might have to finish the hole before you can tee off. Par 3s on #9 and #10 make the turn painfully slow. 18 holes here is a five hour round, at least. Play anywhere else. Seriously anywhere. read more

Golf course ok, but the management policies here are atrocious. When a cart is rented, they tell you that they must be returned at a certain time. That's fine, but you are reminded of this numerous times during play and we even had the marshal stalk us on the 17th hole telling us that it would be our last hole. It must be a union shop or else someone has real OCD. This marshal stalked us on the last few holes as if we were youths casing a Wal-Mart. It's ridiculous to try to return a cart and then go back out. But to accost us on the 17th hole is aggressively obtuse. Our guest was shocked at this behavior. They may as well not rent them. I notice others have complained about the same thing, so this policy must have always been in place. For a public facility, this rudeness to customers is unheard of. The management must have job security. We would never go back and we warn others of this. There are plenty of other courses to play. read more

Nice course. Short but challenging. Very well maintained. Well placed bunkers. That said, this place is run by inept douche bags who dont have a clue about customer service, management, and accountability. I reserved the round via GolfNow app. $40 per golfer plus 2.47 golf round fee. The $40 to be paid at course. When we went and paid, Ryan said its $50. When i showed him my GolfNow reservation screem that ive attached here that clearly states 18 Holes, CART INCLUDED. Ryan didnt care. Rather than say that is a miscommunication between the staff and golf now, and accept the $40 rate which any customer service savvy person with common sense would have done, Ryan said thats not his problem, take it up with Golf Now. Very unprofessional. I took it up with Golf Now who called the course. Laura said if i wanted, i could drive back for a the refund...ill pass. Ill take my business elsewhere and hope those who read this do this as well. Lastly, nothing beats the starter, who when i inquired about my cart at 7:21 for a 730 tee time, said " Its still early man." read more

Great course, terrible pace of play. Staff was a bit rude at check in and packed in way too many tees without anyone on the course to manage pace of play. Required cartpath-only for carts, even on a dry course, which slowed things down even more. For the price, they should do a better job at managing pace, especially if you are going to have a strict cart return cutoff after allowing multiple tee times that will not finish before sunlight is gone given the very slow pace. Not a great value, and not well managed, which is unfortunate for such a fun course itself. read more

Played yesterday in a tournament, very well run and a beautiful golf course. Trees everywhere and well groomed. I know it's a little late in the season but the greens were rough, but it's due to the fact that people don't repair their ball marks. Why? It's so easy, do it yourself because your mother is not playing behind you. read more

Sorry, but this review is not about the course but about one of its teaching pros: Michael Stone. Mike is an OUTSTANDING golf coach. He is patient, dry sense of humor, encouraging and has solid tips/suggestions to improve your game. I've taken lessons from 3 other pros but none of them come close to Mike Stone. His teaching areas may not be state of the art, so if you are looking for a PGA TOUR Computerized Simulator with lots of bells and whistles, you might be disappointed. Mike has a video setup and swing analysis and does both indoor and outdoor lessons which for me (and I would bet most weekend hackers) is all I need. I started lessons with Mike last season and he improved my putting and short game tremendously. This season with new custom Callaway irons (that he helped me buy and save $712 over Club Champion), I look forward to working on my game and lowering my scores. So, if you are looking for a down-to-earth coach who doesn't use the "one swing fits all mentality" and will help you with the physical and well as the mental aspects of your game, go to GPGC and set up a time with Mike Stone. One final point: 30 min lesson is 30 minutes, NOT 25 mins, so you can collect the fee or walk back to the pro shop. I have NEVER had a lesson with Mike that ended early, matter of fact my last one yesterday was 35 mins! My point is when you are working on something and want to get it right, Mike is aware of the time aspect so you don't feel rushed. That said, students should not take advantage and expect each lesson last longer than what you paid for, but if, as it was last night, I was working on something, he made sure I knew exactly what I needed to work on before we ended the lesson. read more

This course is a diamond in the rough. While only a par 70, it requires good shot making decisions because of the strategically placed bunkers. Pace of play is good. O Lu drawback is the amount of league play and permanent tee times limit open spots to play in the morning hours. Staff is helpful and professional. Course is in good shape considering the amount of rounds played in a season. Great bang for your buck! read more

This review is for a specific ranger. I don't think it's polite to mention names, so let's call him "J", or "erry", whatever you'd like. My foursome was looking forward to 36 holes of golf (first at Wilmette, then at Glenview Park) on a beautiful Friday until Ranger "J" decided to pick on our group of polite, well-dressed, rule-followers. First, Ranger "J" ominously waited for us to putt on hole #6, then said one of the carts was too close to the green (it was flush with the cart path because parking on the cart path in that area would not allow the drink cart to get by), and told us to ignore golf etiquette by playing ready golf because he noticed "we were playing some sort of competition" (we were playing a two vs two scramble). We asked him politely if we were playing slow and he confirmed that no, we weren't, but that "he could see it getting there" (note that we finished in 4 hours and had to wait for the group in front of us multiple times). Then on the back 9, Ranger "J", who was presumably stalking us, sped out of nowhere and called out one of the carts for being too close to the green (again, the cart was flush with the path to allow others to get by). Ranger "J" said: "THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. I'VE TAKEN KEYS OUT OF CARTS BEFORE". We were polite in response yet again. All of this would be more understandable if we hadn't noticed multiple groups blaring music loudly next to tee boxes, shirking the 90 degree rule, not yelling fore, slowing up the rate of play to hit balls they sliced 2 holes over, and screaming profanity. I'm not sure why Ranger "J" had it out for a group that was causing no trouble whatsoever. Last I saw Ranger "J", he was bee-lining it over a fairway at an illegal 87 degree angle. For now, we'll stick to other courses so we don't have our day ruined for overpaying for a bad experience. Oh, and the sand traps were in really good shape. read more

Played here a lot before the renovations and liked the course. The changes have made it a better course and more challenging, but very playable for all levels of golfers. Expect at least a 4.5 hour round when it's busy. They did a nice reno with the restaurant, good bar/beer/wine choices and daily food specials. read more

The best public course I have played in Chicago area , very reasonable esp twilight rates. Clubhouse is first class and service is same. Some of local players have attitude but that's common in northern suburbs. Bunkers are brutal and there are allot of the, so while challenging it is s pleasure to play. read more

BLUF: Not worth it. It looks like I am not the first person to complain about the customer service at Glenview Park Golf Course.... see other reviews for more. Our party of two golfers, two riders showed up at 10:00am and 10:10am for a 10:20am tee time. The first party waited in line ten minutes to pay and check in then drove by the older gentleman in the hut to let him know our party was ready early (around 10:15am). He acknowledged our party and reservation and told us to hurry up, that we were up now. We were ready to tee off at 10:19am and asked the older gentleman if he needed anything else from us before we started. He expressed confusion about which party we were (he asked us several times for the name on the reservation). Flustered, he told us the rest of our party had already started and we had to skip the first hole. This was confusing--we were early and had already checked in with this gentleman and followed his instructions. Perhaps he was confused (four people but only two golfing), but he handled it terribly. When we asked why we couldn't play the first hole because we were early, he said we were late and proceeded to get worked up. He offered to let us play the first hole at the turn; not sure how that would helped this "very busy" course at all. We gave up and drove ahead but it was a very nasty experience. He may have just been confused, I can understand that, but there's no reason why he should have treated a stranger let alone a paying customer and potential member with that attitude. The course was otherwise very nicely groomed, interesting, and enjoyable. The two gentlemen we played with were courteous and a lot of fun--we greatly enjoying hanging out with them all morning. They, too, could not understand why we would have had to skip the first hole. Upon finishing the course, one member of the group politely explained the altercation from 10:19am to a manager in the shop. His explanation was to show up early because they were booked solid from 8am to 2pm.... that's not a great resolution on this issue in my opinion. He was kind but brushed off our incident as inconsequential to the well-being of the club. Perhaps he should notice that other paying customers have experienced similar negative experiences. I do not recommend this club to anyone. There are plenty of great alternatives in the Chicago suburbs. read more

Great course for the value if you're lucky enough to avoid any interaction with their terrible staff. They will kick you off the course early, act extremely condescending, and will do the absolute least to accommodate you for anything. It's a decent course and great for ~$40/round (if they let you finish 18) but good God, I've never experienced such awful treatment in my life, much less service. read more

Awesome food! Awesome ambience! You can tell the director of food and beverage really has turned this place around! I eat here with family and friends several times a month and look forward to more! Very good golf course. Nicely reworked and reopened in 2015 with many more traps, new greens, and water/natural areas where you can lose your ball. Front nine is longer and more difficult than the back. Pricing is a little high for a municipal course at prime time. Twilight is a good value at $24, but they have a STUPID rule that carts must be in by 8:15, which cuts 45 minutes off potential 18-hole playing time from June thru July, unless you want to carry your bag through the final holes. read more

We held my father's memorial in the private dining room. Franco and his team created a stress-free event for our hundred person reception. They worked around our time table and the food was excellent. The bar was well staffed and everyone complimented the entire experience. Franco was hands on the whole time always checking in to see if everyone thing was going as expected. I would highly recommend this place for a rehersal dinner, company meeting or memorial. read more

I had a very nice afternoon at Glenview Park Golf Club last week. $24 for twilight golf was a great value. I haven't played here on weekends, but I have to say this was a nice step up from the Forest Preserve Courses I've marched through over the years. It's true, this is a shorter course, but with all of the older trees and TONS of sand around the greens and fairway landing areas, this is not an easy course. I made everything from birdie to quadruple bogey in one round here and even got to hear the clubhouse roar as the first goal of the Hawks Stanley Cup clincher started just before dusk. I'm definitely bringing my city friends out to play here. Very comparable to Wilmette Golf Club in my opinion. read more

Worst round of golf i have played in awhile, not that it matters to anyone...I did have fun nonetheless... Didn't pay, so can't comment on that, but I want to say it was around $60, which was good value...The course was nice and well kept...Fairways were big enough, greens were huge and challenging by my standards...I lost a few balls, but mostly due to not paying attention (although I definitely hit a house with one...oops) There were two intertwined negatives...when i got there the old guys working there ignored me and seemed to act a little rude, as they were very nice and friendly to everyone else who walked by...not a big deal...but then one of them drove out around the 6 hole and yelled at us to hurry up (it was a saturday afternoon.) We politely told him that we just waited at the previous hole for the group in front of us and it was not us who causing the hold up....he told us he didn't care and to drop if we needed to...dick move, dropped from 4 to 3 stars. Also, getting there from the city wasn't a problem with my GPS, but otherwise it was kinda a pain, esp with 94 the way it is...be careful you can easily pass the entrance. read more
