Crave is on point. Great beer and bourbon selection. Craft cocktails are great alrhough they lean more on the sweet side. Chef driven menu which I appreciate. One of the best fish fries in the area. Don't miss out on their cheese churds. Hard to explain their taste but definitely addictive-huge carmelized chunks of local cheese with a great dipping sauce. The food here is so thoughtfully chosen and prepared, and you can taste it in every bite! I've had the burger, salads, prime rib, mashed potatoes, French onion soup, and crave curds and they are all excellent! Just the right amount of flavor and seasoning... the food here is just perfect. The bartender is very pleasant to talk with, and when you leave drinks in his hands he always creates a delicious concoction. I can't say enough good things about this place... We stopped here for a midday bite on a Saturday after biking on the nearby Eisenbahn Trail. We sat a the bar and after trying to figure out what the six taps were by viewing the handles when the bartender came by we asked what was on tap and got a list and ended up ordering Miller Lites ($3) after finding out Potosi Light was out, and waters. I did notice that there were several different brands of wine behind the bar. There were three other customers in there when we arrived, and I think some customers outside as well. Decor was updated modern, tans and browns with a warm vibe. Bar stools were metal with backs and the small amount of tables in that room also had metal chairs with backs. The bartender had asked if we were there for lunch and we said yes. After bringing our drinks he asked if needed menus and we said we did. He told us they had an open faced beef tip special with Swiss for $8.95. I was thinking about the special but also considering a burger. Mr. R asked about the special again when the guy came back and he said it was on a hoagie roll with pepper jack and onion rings, which was quite a game changer from the first description. I went with a classic burger ($7.95) and upgraded to the garlic roasted mushrooms ($2). The burgers were listed as coming with chips or fry of the month. Upon learning that the fry of the month was ranch waffle fries, I said I would have the fries. "Regular fries or fry of the month," he asked. Until that point I didn't know they had regular fries, but I stuck with the fry of the month. The burger was good but the garlic mushrooms added a nice touch, and the bun was yellow bread, nicely brown and glossy on top and buttered. The fries were hot and tasty. Empty plates and waters sat for a while while we finished our drinks but the bartender checked on us a few times throughout our stay. I would come back to Crave to try more of the menu items after we check out another place or two in town. read more

Great place, found while other dinner plans fell thru (thanks Yelpers,) and really enjoyed everything we ordered. Sat outside on the patio and had the chicken sun dried tomato Alfredo. We stopped by last weekend after a hike on the New Fane trails. There was a wait for a table, so we grabbed a seat at the bar. I tried the old fashioned, which was hand muddled but could have used more bitters...maybe I just like a lot of bitters. They have a decent selection of craft beer so we had a couple of brews too. After a while, we were feeling a little hungry so we ordered the Crave Curds. UM, DO THAT. Do that when you go there. Order the Crave Curds. They aren't so much curds as they are blocks of cheese coated in a delicious breading. So freaking good. We both had burgers for our meal, which was an excellent choice. The burger was actually cooked to order, not charred beyond belief as seems to be customary in restaurants these days. The prices were very reasonable and we had great service. I highly recommend checking out Crave if you're hanging around in the Kettle Moraine North Unit! It's a fantastic little gem in the middle of the forest. read more

Hidden away in Campbellsport Crave has excellent food at decent prices. You will want to try the crave curds which are really different than any other fried cheese curd I have tried. You will need to cut them up or you could choke. The steaks are always cooked perfectly. We recently discovered the Mac and cheese which is to die for rich, and impossible to finish. If you go on the day of the special it is less than $10 which is a steal. The restaurant is a bit small and if you sit in the back, the floor is actually slopes. It's worth the drive. read more

The cocktails and bar service were excellent! There were so many delicious menu options - it was hard to choose. Went here for a birthday lunch. I ordered a burger with caramelized onions and Brie cheese. Was not asked how I wanted my burger- this is not a fast food restaurant. My burger came over cooked with Brie cheese melted RIND on. No onions at all. Oh, it came with mustard but I asked for the aioli mayo instead. When the server bought the burger sans Mayo and onions, she took an attitude. She returns with plain mayo and barely sautéed onions. I again asked for the aioli and pointed out the onions were not carmalized - she gets the mayo and states- that's how the chef caramelizes onions. Hmmm what color is caramel? The manager was very nice and stated the chef is a 23 year old and it is pointless to argue. So, young chef kid- caramelized onions are brown, Brie cheese- as you rudely told your manager otherwise- should not be served cooked with rind. It can be served cold- such as a cheese plate with rind, and I like my burgers Medium. I think there may be 2 chefs employed as my friends have been there a couple times and loved it. When we pointed out we never got our salads, the server said "ok, I'll take them off the bill", like the server was doing us a favor. Tried this place for the first time recently. Fantastic beer battered cod!!!! Wow. Old fashioned was yummy and well priced at $5. Fries were great. The "Crave" cheese curds were delicious. The food was absolutely amazing!!!! There was a bit of a wait, but it was expected for a Saturday night. I highly recommend the braised beef ravioli with the gorgonzola sauce. It was delicious! My partner had the shrimp and mushroom ravioli, and he nearly licked his plate cleaned. Brat and cheese soup was the best I have ever had, and I live in Sheboygan Country...home of the brats. My friend and I found this hidden gem tonight. We were drawn in from facebook for the raw oysters on Thursdays. We started out with a dozen oysters and crave curds. I got the pork bahn mi sandwich and she had the roasted duck con fit. Both were fantastic!!! For dessert we had a dozen more raw oysters. I can't wait to stop back and try more things.... If I could give 0 stars I would. It was not only BAD customer service, it was NO customer service. I called ahead and was told there was no wait. She took my name and we arrived 10 minutes later. We were told 5 minute wait to set table. After 20 minutes I asked about the table and I was told 1 more minute. After another 15 minutes, I said please seat us, there were at least 4 empty tables that were set. She did seat us and after another 15 minutes of waiting at the table we observed another group being seated and waited on immediately. We left so I can't comment on the food and I will never go back. Just know that they LIE about wait times and have no clue of the meaning of customer service. I should have believed the numerous BAD reviews I read and saved us the wasted time. read more

First off the food was very good, the service was so very slooowww. We sat down at the same time as the couple next to us they had completed their dinner before we got our appetizer. We started our with the pear flatbread and it was very good (little under cooked but very good) Our dinner came as we were eating our appetizer, after we complained about how long it took to get our appetizer. Dinner was very good. On a side note the chairs are some of the worst we ever sat in. It is a tough call the service was not good at all, food very good, chairs -not good. Crave is an awesome example of re-purposing an older bar/Resturant into a hip-ish current cool eating/drinking place. The feel is young and the menu is fun. We had the deep fried cheese chunks which were amazing. I had to slice them, they were so big. We had burgers which were awesome and a few beers and a good glass of cab with dinner. If it weren't for the 25 minute drive, we'd put it on our short list of favorite dinner spots. read more

Food was great. Great selection of menu items. Water boy/bus boy hustled and did a great job. Service was atrocious. Our young, sweet, untrained server could not have made more mistakes if she tried. She did not know what was in the special, after we flagged her down to order our first round of drinks, she sat them down and said "I don't know which one is which." Every time we wanted to order something we had to flag her down. We sat near the ordering system and watched her put our food order in 20 minutes AFTER we ordered. We had to go to the bar to order our second round of drinks. When our food finally came out, the wrap and sandwich did not have sides. We asked where they were, she said "they don't come with a side." So we asked for a menu and showed her where it states "every wrap and sandwich comes with a choice of chips or fry of the month." Three of us there for dinner, we were there for over 2 hours. We watched the table next to us wait 35 for their first drink order. There were dropped - broken glasses. Just chaos. Not once did we see a manager running around trying to clean up the mess that was happening all around us. No apologies, no discounts. Will likely take our $100+ tab elsewhere next time.
