Santana burrito, combo fajitas, and memo margaritas. All fresh and delicious.

My now-husband and I moved to the Falls in 2018, and shortly after, El Papa's opened on Howe Road. It quickly became one of our favorite restaurants--certainly the best Mexican in the Falls. At some point during the pandemic, they unfortunately closed. We have been really underwhelmed by the most popular place in the Falls (not trying to bash them), so we were definitely missing El Papa's. We were ecstatic when we saw they were reopening on State Road, just 5 minutes from our house. The menu is more or less the same, and the interior is similar but slightly nicer. The bar area is huge and looks very cozy. There is a small but inviting patio I look forward to sitting on next time we go. The place was spotless. I had fajitas, and they were fresh and grilled perfectly. Beans were incredible--so creamy. My husband had one of his old favorites, the Santana Burrito (carnitas with salsa verde), and it was even better than he remembered. I am excited to try the chile colorado, one of my favorite dishes there, next time we go--which I have no doubt will be very soon. Get the Memo style margaritas. Again, they taste fresh and not like the lime green artificial ones. We are so happy to see El Papa's back in our community!

A delightful small, cozy restaurant. The wait staff is outstanding and the food is high quality. I would definitely recommend.

Agavero is located in the large shopping plaza along Howe Avenue in a couple of store fronts. Inside is a medium sized restaurant decorated with orange walls and wood with larger paintings on the walls, the feeling is nicely Mexican without being hokey or over the top. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. I ordered the #4 lunch special, a Chile Relleno with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were quickly brought to the table; both were ok the chips were fresh and the salsa was thick and mild, I did add some hot sauce to spice it up. My lunch came out very quickly, the plate was pretty and the food was nicely fresh and hot. The Chile Relleno was interesting, with no batter and a very mild chili pepper. The Salsa Verde on top was bright and vibrant. The beans and salsa were both good with mild flavors and nice texture. Overall the food was good, although the flavors were a bit muted for my taste. Agavero is a nice place to grab some solid Mexican food, but I did find the food to be a bit tame. Prices are good and the service was great, but I am always looking for bright and exciting flavors.

We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

The most unexpected thing however was how much seasoning and flavor they used on their chicken and other meats. Absolute game changer. The restaurant was clean and while was packed, had enough space to move around and you didn't feel like you were sitting on top of each other. Our waitress was very friendly and brought us a round of Tequila which was new to me. Overall I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, I have more bad than good to say. I placed my order online through their website, which redirects you to orderonlinemenu.com. I arrived about 20 minutes after placing my order, which was supposed to be ready in 15. The gentleman I spoke to asked to see my order and said they didn't receive it because their computers were down. I waited about 10-15 minutes more to get the order, which I took to my car. As seen in the menu, the Lunch Fajitas Yukitan comes with 7.5oz of the meat you select. Having worked in a restaurant for many years, where every bit of food had to be weighed, along with years of food prep for myself, I realized (when opening in the parking lot) that there was MAYBE 2oz of chicken in my dish. I was also missing the tortillas. I went back in and explained the meat and tortillas. The gentleman asked me to get the dish and bring it back in, so he could show the kitchen. Fine, whatever. Within a moment, he returned my dish, along with tortillas, and told me that the amount on this dish is what they serve. I said, "If you bring a scale over here, I can show you this is nowhere near 7.5oz." He said, the portion I got is what they serve all customers." I replied that the menu should be adjusted, and he said he would tell the manager. I was further disappointed once I finally began eating the food, as it was very basic and kind of all blended, with no flavor from one ingredient to the next.

Paleteria La Fresa also has a rotating stock of homemade popsicles in familiar and unique flavors, from strawberry to avocado to Mexican custard! My Yelp friend who joined me for dinner and dessert there a few days ago has tried at least a dozen flavors - her favorite is avocado. This was my first visit to this restaurant and spent some time looking at the pantry stuff for sale (didn't get anything) and debating which flavor of popsicle to get for my first visit here, before ordering two Mexican street tacos and one carne asada sopes for dinner. My meal also came with unlimited chips and salsa which we immediately demolished! Ultimately, I chose to get the Mexican cake popsicle flavor which was so smooth and creamy and milky and then crunchy with Mexican chocolate slabs inside! It was very refreshing, unique, and not very expensive at 3 bucks. My tacos were saved for later (and tasted delicious a couple hours later at home) but I ate the sopes at the restaurant. It was generously piled with carne asada and the corn pancake was 1000/10! I will absolutely order sopes again! For $16.50, I had a lot of food, a nice treat, and great company. I plan to come again!
