During our family vacation travels from Jackson Hole towards Salt Lake City, we were looking for a lunch stop. We initially had an unpleasant experience at Gold Buckle Grill, which led us to drive a bit further. We were very glad to have found Crawford Trough, about 30 minutes away. We were met with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and we thoroughly enjoyed our hamburgers and shakes, which were also served very quickly. We would highly recommend Crawford Trough to other travelers passing through the area. read more

This review is about the service. During ordering everything was normal. Waited for another 15 min and another person came with packed food and informed we are actually closed so here is your food .I was literally wonder stuck if they are closed they should have told while ordering or at least need to inform me when they are making my order as take out. This review is not about the food. On our drive from Jackson to Salt Lake City, we passed by this small town and we thought we would stop by a small town restaurant to experience it and to give them some business, even though we weren't actually in need of food then. Yelp says they are open till 7pm(we reached around 2.55 PM on a Friday) and they had open board as well. We ordered at counter and tipped generously, they took a while and then came with food packed for Togo and just said "We are closed, here is your food". We felt it was rude and just plainly asking us to leave, they could have said it when they took order. read more

For being in the middle of nowhere (or on your way to Bear Lake from Evanston), this place is worth the stop. There isn't much in this town, so the rating takes that into consideration. (In that case, it'd be 5 stars since it's the only game in town.) The staff is friendly, place is clean, and menu has plenty of options for everyone. We came during COVID-19, so every other table was unavailable, but we ended up in the second dining area all by ourselves (6 adults and 2 kids). The chicken tenders were really juicy and onion rings a plenty. I couldn't get over how great the fries were, so much that I'd go out of my way to stop again just for those. Wished that the beef patties were more medium rare, but they had decent flavor. Buns are soft and the toppings fresh. read more

We just stopped here on our way back from Fossil Butte National Monument to Evanston and we are so glad we did. I had a Turkey wrap on a spinach tortilla and it was stuffed with good smoked Turkey, cream cheese and veggies. We shared a huge order of onion rings that were super crispy and delicious and my husband had a mushroom Swiss burger on a bun that he raved about. Total about $21 and we couldn't even finish the onion rings, definitely worth the stop! read more

With few available restaurants in Randolph, Crawford Trough was a welcome surprise. We've stopped here twice this summer on our way to Garden City and Bear Lake. The burgers are pretty good. However, the beef patty was under-seasoned. The homemade french fries were tasty and the highlight of dining at the Trough! The milkshakes were okay. The raspberry milkshake didn't have enough fresh raspberries and was too soft. The staff seemed inexperienced and gave us the wrong order twice. read more

Ok this place is good. I'm giving it 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1) the burger is really really good. I was passing through town to bear lake and forgot to eat before I left and this place popped up on the Horizon like a mirage in the desert. A burger mirage one might say. And the burger was LEGIT. Fresh delicious brioche bun, really fresh meat. Great flavor. Really a great burger by any standards. 2) The second reason I am giving it five stars is to counter that idiot that gave it one star because it was closed when she went there and wasn't smart enough to check before she drove hours out of her way to go there. Maam, you can't rate a food place 1 star when you never tasted the food because YOU lack forethought. The 1 star should be a self rating of your intelligence, Miss 1 Star lady. Formerly "The Gator" and with an equally unfortunate name, this is place is as straightforward as a small town can give. Burgers and fries and ice cream. The inside is fun and well done and was MUCH needed. It is very clean and modern. The pickled asparagus is delicious AND they even have a VEGAN BURGER!!! Their salads are pretty amazing too. Better than what I've found in Garden City. This is AMAZING for such a small town. This is a great place to stop!! Good place good food! read more

Amazing. Stopped here because we saw an ice cream sign and I'm SO glad we gave it a shot. Ice Cream was great, Double Bacon Cheeseburger - out of this world in flavor and freshness, & the fries were twice that. I'll surely be coming back when I drive through here on my next road trip. read more

AMAZING! First time here - darn near the best experience we've has, maybe ever! Cool kids area with ride-on tractors and a bucking bull chute! Really cool homemade dart board and pool table. I love the use of Crawford in the name as the Crawford Mountain range runs north to south along the little valley this restaurant sits in. The menu features burgers but also has chicken, hot dogs and salads. Burgers are served on Brioche buns which are yummy. I recommend the Crawford Angus Burger which includes pastrami, bacon and pepper jack cheese. Delicious!!!! Home cut fries are wonderful and the onion rings are also tasty. Don't leave without trying the flavor infused ice cream or a raspberry shake. Friendly staff and good prices. We'll be back for sure. read more

We stopped here on our way from Jackson Hole to Provo. This was a lot of small highways and we weren't finding much in the way of food until we stopped at Crawford Trough. Not much to look at but the food was all made to order and delicious. The grilled chicken salad and the grilled chicken wrap were both generous and very good. The hot tip here is the ice cream. They have a ton of flavor combinations, but by all means try one of their outstanding shakes. We may not get a chance to stop at this little out of the way place, but I hope the folks around Randolph appreciate what a gem they have in their community. read more

There ain't much between Jackson Hole and Evanston, but ya gotta stop at the Trough. It's next to the city park (and fairground?), and you'll get a great burger and other delights.
