I ended up getting the season passes because itll be worth it in 2 visits... and theyre always changing the exhibits. Adding my first review this year! Happy 2022 everyone! Ticket is free on birthdays! This works for both adults and kids within 7 days. Bring your ID or birth certificate for kids as proof. The birthday child gets a bucket of coins, you can use it on crayons, markers and model magic (color clay)! ask for it if you don't get it! I found out after seeing my friend's group had one but we never got one when we walked in... also with a birthday girl in my group, but we only got the standard 2 coins they gave everyone when you enter. Found out too late when we were about to leave :( and wished I knew earlier. Buy tickets online for a better price, look for deals if you have time! It's a fun experience for both kids and adults (if you've never been). You can use the coin to add customization label to crayons so print it with your name. They also have different stations where you can make your own puzzle, create selfie coloring print outs, melt crayons into shapes and color mini animals. Worth a 3hr drive! We drove up for the day, as a birthday celebration for our 2yr old, meeting up with her cousins (ages 5 & 1yr). We previously bought our tickets online, at a discount, and easily checked into the main desk using our names. Obtaining our token bags (2tokens & a voucher)-we were ready to explore. We began our experience on floor 2, easing the kids into the overwhelming amount of options by starting with low-key coloring, then escalating to the bigger activities throughout the floors. What was overall fantastic about the experience was the ample variety & diy approach to each activity. Though our kids are very different ages, they were each able to enjoy the same activities in their own way. For example: the putty dough- the 5yr old was able to understand & work through the build a rocket using two colors activities, while our 2yr old enjoyed just smushing the dough, using the tools at the table to cut & manipulate, and then coloring on it, while the 1yr old enjoyed just smushing the dough- all 3 kids able to enjoy themselves Even going on a weekend, Saturday morning, the crowd wasn't overwhelming- there was so much to do it thins out the kids among the varying floors & stations- we only had to wait a few moments on floor 4 to get a paint art station. I do agree with other reviews, the staff doesn't look thrilled to work there, but can't blame them- they're mostly teenage kids, probably first summer job, dealing with loud children all day- but it did give off a meh vibe, leaving us as parents to diy a lot (i.e looking for blank paper-learning how to manage electronic activities, etc). There was a good blend of hands-on activities, take home creations, & electronic imagery activities to play with- We spent about 2 1/2 hours within, before our daughter needed a nap from all the stimulus, and we were able to complete every hands-on create & take home activity (we didn't play with any of the screen activities because her age- nor the big climbing playground) I enjoyed bringing home all the art (self-labeled crayons, dough, markers, diy puzzles, painted hats, washable animal, spin art, shaped crayon we melted, colored pictures of the day- my favorite thing was the take a photo of ourselves & create a coloring page station!) It was a very fun one time special occasion experience; cost was a bit high, even if we weren't factoring in our drive, we probably wouldn't be frequent visitors- but enjoyed the day! I wish it had more to do. I like that there were alot of activities for kids to do but for adults the ticket should not be the same price as a kid. I have been wanting to go for years and finally went with my family. I was a little upset to see the store didn't have their shelves full and that they were lacking staff as everyone is. We won tickets and were told by a couple staff members we could still use the tickets but when we got there the manager was not so friendly but later he told us he was having a bad day. We finally were able to use the tickets we have been saving. The lady at the front told us to start at the fourth floor which was smart and work our way down to avoid lines and people. I don't really feel like we got the full experience. We went when there were a lot of camp trips and the kids were running around unsupervised. I was ran into numerous times which is expected but no one had the manners to say excuse me or sorry. We had to go to each level about 6 times to be able to do almost everything. It's cool that you can make your own crayon and there is a station to make a wax hand. My daughter couldn't hold her hand in the ice long enough so we did my hand and it turned out great! However I chose pink and the color is already fading a lot. One of my biggest complaints was that the cafeteria closes about 2 hours before the museum closes so be sure to sneak in before than if there is something you want. read more

Took my kids here for my daughter's fifth birthday. You can actually get free admission within a week of their birthday so her ticket was free. Tickets are normally $27 a person. Parking is kind of a pain. We could only find street parking that was time limited so my husband had to go out and move our car to a new spot so we wouldn't get a ticket. We followed the advice we read online to start at the top floor and work our way down and that seemed to go well. This is the perfect place to take your child if they love arts and crafts. My daughter probably could have stayed here all day. I see they changed their name from the crayola factory to the crayola experience which I think is more fitting for what it is. They have lot of cool activities here such as make your own custom crayon, drip art, and make your own puzzle. They also have a soft play area. There are some attractions that require tokens and you get a couple free tokens with your admission ticket. But, I am pretty sure we did them all and still had tokens left over at the end somehow. We came on a summer weekday and it was a bit crowded but not unbearably so. The gift shop is unfortunately at the exit so we didn't avoid that. I was able to steer my daughter away from the overpriced giant crayon stuffed animals she initially wanted and convinced her to get some of the art supplies which are more practical and reasonably priced. We are a bit of a drive from here but my daughter loved it so much that I am sure we will be back sometime for another visit. read more

I can't remember if I came here on a weekday or a weekend, but I had a good time. I hate to admit it, but Crayola crayons aren't the best, but their markers and colored pencils are not bad at all. They take you through the entire manufacturing process of the crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Elevator is a very rare Dover with vandal-resistant buttons - Dover VR buttons are rare. It has a beautiful-sounding dry-powered pump and capacity for up to 20 passengers. The cafeteria serves good food and is home to the largest crayon in the world. In the future, I might come here for the New Year's celebration if they learn how to automate/computerize the Crayon Drop as was done with the Times Square Ball. Since the Pine Street Parking Garage was demolished, you might have trouble finding parking. It might be beneficial to Crayola if they donated a large sum of money to NJ Transit to extend the Raritan Valley Line to Easton via Phillipsburg. read more

How this place doesn't have better reviews is confusing to me. I took my 2.5 year old here today and we had the best time. We designed our own crayon labels. Played on multiple indoor jungle gyms. Melted crayons into cars and ring molds. Made spin art. Colored and pressed our own custom puzzles. Sailed boats down a vast water feature and did much more! There was a lot we didn't have time for so we will be back. We went on a school day so the place wasn't crowded. I suggest going at opening since it started filling up around noon. read more

This place surely is a fun place for adult and children alike (of course mostly for children, but honestly i have fun myself).. Couple of pros and cons for those who are debating of going or not... hope this is helpful :) Pros: 1. Free for the birthday boys and girls!! 7 days before or after your birthday, bring in your license/birth certificate and show to the staffs, you will get a complimentary ticket to go in along with the tokens and bag to hold your goodies.. 2. Get your ticket online save $3 (but unless you get coupons to buy it over there) 3. Three floors of fun activities, plus the first floor which has a food court and Crayola store... you can easily spend 3-4 hours there if you were to try everything 4. If you don't want to eat there, you don't have to, there are a lot of little shops around the area, just remember to ask for a wrist band before you walk out, so you can return after your meal. Cons: 1. Maybe not good for toddler who is too young: my son turns 3 in 2 days, and there are lot of things he doesn't understands (like silly selfie, or rainbow rain).. but he has no problem getting color on the paper and getting himself covered in color in other areas Parking: There is a parking garage across the street from the place, and it's $3/hour (honestly not too bad) If my son is a little older, i might consider getting an annual pass. it is an hour away from home, and the drive is not bad at all... and there are ton of things to do and i am sure when he's older he will enjoy it more!! and honestly the price is very reasonable!! $38/person/year... and it's $28/ticket... if you go 2 times, your pass already worth it!! The Crayola Experience is a great place for kids of all ages (until probably tween years). I have been here many years ago with my family, but recently returned with a friend and our 2.5 close to 3 YO kids. Overall admission is very reasonable for everything that is available on multiple floors. I would suggest trying to use a discount website or AAA to get discounted tickets. In addition there is free admission I believe for first responders and at minimum a teacher discount. With your admission comes with two tokens that you can use for a variety of activities/prizes including a small animal kids can decorate, make your own crayon label, markers, molding putty etc. The place definitely gets crowded, so it may be wise to visit either during the week or perhaps early on the weekend to avoid a massive onslaught of children, especially if you have younger kids. Sadly some of the older kids trample over the younger ones in the playscape areas (even in the areas where there are supposed to be age limits to prevent this) and unfortunately more often than not parents aren't necessarily monitoring their children. There are so many activities to do on each floor with historical timelines, interactive displays, exhibits, hands on crafts, playscapes etc. You could easily spend 3-4 hours here depending on what your kiddos are interested in. Each floor is well thought out and I would definitely say this is a neat and unique experience. Downtown Easton has a lot of good restaurants nearby and parking is very reasonable. I would recommend eating elsewhere and then heading to the Crayola Experience. It is definitely worth the time and investment coming and you won't leave empty handed! Good for kids 4-8 I'd say. 5 is probably the best age! Easy parking & to get around. I thought it would be more of an educational experience seeing the crayons made. We went with a group of 7 kids. They enjoyed it but didn't feel like it was what we expected it to be. Lots of DIY stations to color. Cute interactive virtual activities. Big play gym but too big for our 3 year olds to navigate. We regularly frequent Crayola Experience and love to go with friends and family. There's some for everyone ages 2-10+ depending how into crafts your child is. We have a gold membership and unfortunately crayola has since gotten rid of the old membership style which we really like versus the new one which is just one level. Pro tip is avoid this place during school field trip season which seems to be may to early June. Another tip is there is a large play area on the 3rd floor for children ages 4-12. The toddler play area for ages 2-4 is not meant for the big kids who can injure the little kids. Also do not let your baby in here. If they can't stand and walk/climb they shouldn't be in a climbing tower meant for toddlers they can end up injured. Warning for all: when you exit it is through the store (which is especially) annoying as an annual pass holder where your kid wants to get something every time. read more

This was my 1st time here. I took my 9 year old nephew, drove an hour and a half, and spent 3 hours there. You do have to pay for parking. we did meter opposed to the parking garage. It did take a minute to find a spot as it's in the main town. However, it was not awful. I paid $24.94, saved $3, and found a 15% off code, I think for what it was, the price was not bad. You get two tokens and a card for a pet. There are 4 floors the 1st is the store which had a lot of stuff in it. The 2nd floor is where you get to create your own crayon with one of the tokens they give you, you also can use a token to get a marker however beware if you do that you have to buy extra for the clay. 3rd floor is a play area and some other activities, and the fourth is making a crayon drip art project and a car and ring shaped crayon. We had made plans to go to Hershey and they fell through so we decided to take off back towards home. As we were driving I noticed a sign for the Crayola Experience. I had seen some adds for it and knew it was free for teachers (very cool) so we decided to check it out, which turned out to be a fantastic idea. There were absolutely no issues getting our teacher tickets whatsoever, which was really nice. We had our tickets and was all set to go within a couple of minutes. The experience has 4 floors. I will fill you in on some of the activities we chose to do as some of them seemed designed for children. The coolest thing was making your own personalized crayon label. We did this at the beginning and came through a second time to make some more. You needed a token to do this. They gave you two tokens when you came in and were able to purchase some additional tokens for 50 cents each (very fair). We checked out the show that explained how crayons were made, and this was very cute. We did the 3 activities on the 4th floor, and they were all a good time. We got to draw with hot wax, turn a crayon into a little ring or smiley face, and make a spin art piece by melting crayons onto turning paper. We also drew a picture and put it under a computer to make it come to life. As an adult I thought this spot was lots of fun. The idea of giving my wife and me free admission because we are teachers was a super bonus. The staff was chill and helpful and I really thought it was a fun day. If I were passing through I would absolutely go back. read more

My family spent the day at Crayola during out summer vacation to the tourist traps in Pennsylvania (teenager, 5-year old). This was a nice, solid experience, and I'm glad I came. I was initally concerned because I saw some people that said on the higher end you can expect to 3-4 hours in there, but that wasn't my experience. My family and I stopped and did most experiences in the building and we had to cut out time off short at ~ 6 hours so that we could go to dinner, we could have easily spent another 2 hours in there. There are some experiences in there that require tokens. You're given 2 per person when you enter, and you can purchase more within the experience. The price of these tokens was extremely reasonable. My primary complaint about the experience was the food. They do not allow any outside food or drink, and their cafe put a damper on our experience. We went down to eat at the cafe ~ 12:30 pm and there was 1 or 2 other families in front of us. Despite the small line, they had literally nothing ready in their cooked food queues and we had to wait 15 minutes for anything. I think they felt rushed, because most of what they served was undercooked. The gift shop was also very reasonablly priced for what they offerred. read more

This place is the very definition of rip off. After paying $70 for admission and entering (2 adults one child, since the other under 3 not included) you have to then pay individually for just about every little thing you do inside. They nickel and dime everywhere and anywhere from being insanely understaffed (staff is rude and act annoyed with you) to many things being broken/out of service. It's also way overcrowded and ridiculously long lines for every type of activity. Young kids aren't the patient type. Why is there popcorn and candy in each section? 2 out of the 4 ski ball machines were broken and both myself and another mom lost money on them. Staff was very reticent to refund us and eventually put on signs that the machines were out of order. You "win" tickets similar to a Chuck E Cheese however there are very limited selections of "prizes" and most cost hundreds upon hundreds of tickets (21 tickets got my child a tiny box of pencils and blank paper. Just don't bother giving tickets). The cafe also had a super long line and they were out of almost everything. I paid almost $60 ($57.20 to be exact) for two orders of frozen nuggets with fries and two cheeseburgers with fries. It was all inedible. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars vs one is due to the playground on the 3rd floor. Save your money and go just about anywhere else. read more

We had gone here about 10 years ago when it was still a Crayola factory. It has really gone downhill. The facility isn't maintained very well and looks very dingy. Every single hand sanitizing station was empty, which is a big deal when we're talking about very high-touch activities with kids. We paid $75 for 3 adults and 1 child and the only thing you get for that pricy admission are a few coloring activities. Totally not worth it. read more

I enjoyed my visit to Crayola factory. The only concern was that some of the staff seemed to not know what was going on. For example in the store, one of the people at the registers didn't know how to convert a ticket to a season pass. However all throughout the experience they advertised that you can convert today's ticket to a season pass. The person seemed very new, but there were quite a few people that seemed in the same boat so I'm not sure if they just had a lot of new staff that day. read more

High five Crayola Experience!! You can tell this place took their time to get things in order to follow state protocols and make families feel comfortable. Purchase tickets in advance. Prepare to possibly wait a bit as each person gets their temperature checked and bags checked upon arrival. No bags are permitted unless it's see through. Each entry came with chalk, box of crayons and tokens to use through out the experience. Don't use those tokens on one floor! Probably to echo the other lower reviews here. Disorganized, overcrowded and confusing. Massively under staffed and no clear direction where to go or what to do. We got to the first attraction and thought it was the food court because there were selling pop corn and food. Turns out the sell this basically in every place for some reason. It's very over priced to color a few pieces of paper and wrap your own crayon. I can see it being good but multiple items were broken and then in one area you wait 15 minutes in line to watch a machine drip a crayon into a mold (of a car or a ring) that you get to keep. Melt some crayons at home and make a candle if that's your thing. Final comment would be that for whatever reason this place had the most unruly and out of control kids of any similar place I have been. Running out of control, 4-5 screaming fits on the playground at once. And I am positive I caught some new disease from this place. read more

Super fun place for the kids. If I came here when I was a youngin this place would be heaven since I was and am the artsy one in the fam. But man oh man I need Advil! Some of these families roll in here with 7 kids deep and so the lines to do anything are ridiculous and there's a line for EVERYTHING waiting 10-20mins with ur kid per activity makes the experience b.s like who wants to wait to color with crayons. Plus their label machines are half broken. Don't get popcorn bc its stale and salt and sh't. But aside from the parental experience the kids experience is everything and more they love it here. From the outside it looks like a small place. But it is much bigger inside than it looks. Kid fun for all ages. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and chasing your child(ren). The noise level in the playground area can get very loud. Where other areas are moderately loud. There are 4 floors of different activities for everyone. And be ready to spend about a 60-90 mins per floor depending on the wait time for each activity. Like crayons. The place is full of bright colors everywhere. The staff has plenty patience and most very friendly and welcoming. Some handle their area well and keep the people moving as the activity is done. Longest we had to wait was 15 mins so far. But at this part of the text. I only done 2 floors. Stand by for more. Floor 2 is the most fun of the 4. Floor 1 is entrance and exit of the building and the gift store. Disappointed. It's chaotic inside with some employees not willing to help. Some are super and are great with kids; some are super cranky and shouldn't be around children or adults. Second floor seems overwhelmed with not enough help, especially in the room where you can print your image out. The workers in other rooms are unwilling to assist or offer support when the printers stop working. The crayon film and worker in there showing how crayons are made were the best part. He's super cheerful and polite with all of the guests. Wish I got his name. It's clean inside and very well stocked, but it's basically a learn on your own without much info given aside from reading the pics on the walls. Creating your own crayon name was the best part. They do need more stations for when it's busy, bc everyone seems to hit this station up. Once and done kind of place. No need for a season pass IMO. read more

Clever and unique. I was thoroughly impressed. My 7 and 9 year old Granddaughters and their 8 yr old friend were in 7th heaven with all the activities. We spent 5 hours there and were never bored. We made crayons, puzzles, masks, melted crayons, spin art, colored, played games, pushed a small boat through a trail, and played in the hampster type climbing thing. We packed our own lunch, found a table in the snack/game area and enjoyed the break. I didn't see any food for purchase. Not sure if purchasing food was even available. All we saw and smelled was pop corn. We were glad we brought lunch. The place was somewhat crowded but we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the activities. There was only one camp group while we were there and things slowed down where they were and we just went to other areas to avoid the wait. It wasn't a big deal. I prepaid for tickets on line and saved $3 per ticket. We also avoided a longer line by prepaying. A bag with 2 tokens and a voucher was given to each person at check in. We were a bit confused where to redeem each of the things. The first token is used on floor 2 to personalize and make your own crayon. So darn clever. The next token is used to get a free marker out of a machine...also on floor 2. The voucher was the hard one to find. We saved that for the end thinking it was in the gift shop on the first floor. Someone directed us to the 3rd floor and it was actually on the 2nd floor back where the clay activity is located. The voucher was used to redeem a small souvenir toy...it was cute. The girls loved it. That clear bag was awesome...each kid saved their projects and crayons in their own bag. Nice touch! I asked each kid which was their favorite activity and seems making their own crayon was the winner. I liked making my own puzzle as I made a "happy birthday" puzzle for my Hubby. Parking was easy...a parking ramp is right across the street. Just take a picture of your liscence plate and pay $3 per hour at the Kiosk when you arrive. You have to guess just how many hours to add. I suggest at least 4 hours. Overall, I highly recommend and think most people would enjoy Crayola Experience. Several of the stations were closed including the food area on the first floor. They were out of the gold bags and did not explain clearly the added value based on the purchase of the gold package. They had a full house 04/12; the snack station on the 2nd floor was the only place open for food. They could be more organized with the lines as they expected the patrons to manage order on their own Thankfully everyone "patrons" were kind and considerate. The woman that was working the snack station did not get a break and was on her feet from the moment we arrived until closing. If you purchase your tickets in advance the good parts is tht you skip the longer line with all of the camps. But the longer line at least informs you of the showtimes, floors, they give you tokens and answers your questions. The express line just scans your ticket without even giving you tokens. Collect your free tokens in the clear crayola bag before entering. Each level has a different theme. I particularly enjoyed the top level where you melt the crayons. I went with two kids who made it even more enjoyable. Just seeing their excitement and amazement at certain things made me want to be a kid again. I gave this special place 1 star because they are number one in waiting in line, crowds, and crayon sniffing. The only thing that could be more euphoric is the Permanent Marker Experience. This place is highly recommended. Especially for the younger adult in you. My daughter Asha is 9 and she had a blast she said will only spend 2hrs but end up staying for over 4hrs. This place has 4floors of different activities. From making Crayola molds to different artwork. I didn't find myself getting bored I was intrigued more than my daughter. I'm a fan of Crayola. If you come here I recommend downloading the PARK MOBILE app for parking in case you're running out of parking minutes and decided to stay longer it will save you a headache. So cray for Crayola!!! This place is just an hour away by car from central Jersey and features 4 floors of fun! There's a parking deck across the street for about 16 bucks. Buying tickets online beforehand get you $2 off each ticket. Under 3 years old = free. For each ticket, you get 2 tokens. One could be used on a personalized crayon or a clay pack. More tokens could be purchased for about a quarter each. The Crayola Experience is extremely hands-on and fun for all ages. Some highlights: "WRAP IT UP!" - Label your own crayons- didn't test it for vulgar terms. Next time, I will. "MELT & MOLD" - Make your own melted crayon ring or car (choices may change). "DRIP ART" - Spin art with melted crayons. "COLOR MAGIC" - Color in a creature then scan it. Then it gets rendered and featured in a selfie. "DOODLE IN THE DARK" - Color in a character on a computer then pick 2 "super powers." Then it gets projected on a wall and moves around with powers. "WATER WORKS" - See lock principles work on a crayon-shaped boat. 2 PADDED JUNGLE GYMS - A smaller one is for ages 2-5 while a bigger one is for ages 2-12 that requires more adult supervision, but older kids seem to be conscientious of younger ones. Lots of different options to explore her creativity. The admission price is basically $25 per person ages 3 and up, but the annual pass is currently on sale for $29.99! The annual pass gets you 20% discount on food inside the attraction, as well as in the merchandise shop. Best time to go is in the morning because it's less crowded and also. It is best to get the tickets online, they are cheaper on the website. They give you two tokens upon entry, which you can use to create a personalized label on a crayon of your choosing & to purchase Crayola Model Magic, their version of basically Play-Doh, but a lot cleaner! Also, at this time, they're giving out vouchers to obtain a free squishy washable and reusable "pet." We got a bull. My daughter loves coloring it with the markers and then washing it back out. Lots of fun if you like to color and be creative! She liked it so much we got more in the gift shop. It is definitely set up to nurture and enrich your children's creativity side. We were members for many years but had to stop visiting due to my daughters autism. The Crayola Factory Hosted a sensory night and we had the great fortune to attend. My daughter and son joined me for a magical night. The staff volunteered to work and the individuals who were there were nothing short of amazing. The sound was off and the lights were dim. My 2 year old had a blast here! From my experience, it was great especially since she was free to enter since she is only 2. My sister and I are both teachers and teachers enter for free in the summer as well. We paid $0 to get in. Score! Start at the 4th floor first as it gets crowded with camp groups. We stayed 2 hours and that was just enough for us. My daughters favorite part was playing with the molding clay. We purchased some at the gift shop on our way out. One minor complaint...the upstairs bathroom on the 4th floor at 10:15am had no paper towels. Did no one clean it overnight? read more
