For years, Bruce's (across the street) used to be our go-to for weekend breakfasts on the North Fork. Not anymore. I can confidently say Crazy Beans has the best breakfast I've had on the North Fork. First off, the location is absolute gold. It used to be a crummy luncheonette but the space itself has so much retro character. They took this theme and ran with it, making Crazy Beans an awesome blast to the past with checkered floors, bright red walls, and all sorts of cool memorabilia lining the walls. It's such a fun place to be in. The staff is so friendly and energetic, our waitress in particular was lovely. The menu is big and creative, with lots of interesting options for breakfast. I had the cookie dough pancakes once and the breakfast burrito another time, and both were delicious. The pancakes were huge and perfectly cooked. The cookie dough was a perfect addition and a great idea! The breakfast burrito had eggs over easy (perfectly cooked and runny), cheddar, bacon, and some sort of spicy aioli-type sauce inside a wrap. Really messy but so delicious!! I also had one of their amazing flavored lattes, with amazing flavors such as Almond Joy and Reese's. The food and coffee are excellent, classic American breakfast but with a fun twist. Definitely puts Bruce's to shame, especially after their disappointing renovation/ownership change. Being this was 4.5 stars, I came in here with high expectations. Cute little retro style diner in the heart of Greenport. My fiancé got a plain black coffee while I got a blended salted caramel latte. The quality of their coffee was very good. The breakfast however didn't come up to par. We got the cheesy biscuits and the French toast. The biscuits seemed like they were from the can and the cheese sauce was overwhelmingly salty. Would not recommend. French toast however was delicious. I would definitely give this place another shot for lunch. read more

such a disappointment we went to crazy beans this morning let me add that today is a Wednesday. we arrived about 845 in the morning after attending a memorial mass for my friends daughter, who passed away last month not to mention we lost two really great friends last night in a motorcycle accident in Greenport, and just wanted to get together with friends to have some breakfast. we were greeted by a very huffy hostess, who would not seat us, unless all were present even though it was a Wednesday and we said they were parking the car. I might add that we are locals for many years than most can count, not that that should matter. We seated ourselves at a table next to two very nice gentleman to give them some space we moved down two seats, the hostess, then told us one table per party, please, and threw our menus at us and walked away. Needless to say we got up and walked out and will never return again too bad because the staff there used to be wonderful. I don't know who hired this person, but she definitely is not welcoming. read more

Corned beef hash homemade and not the stuff you get out of cans. Thick shredded corned beef and potatoes cooked crispy. Eggs perfectly cooked over easy. We walked by Crazy Beans when we were on our day trip to Greenport. It looked like a real cool place and the Yelp reviews were great. They were not wrong. All of the food that we saw on other diners looked really good. We had the Reuben sandwich and the Hercules sandwich. Both of these sandwiches were fantastic. I love the Crazy Beans in Greenport, NY. The staff, coffee and food are great. The staff is courteous and cordial. They are like the show "Cheers" where 'everyone knows your name'. They actually know what kind of coffee I want when I walk through the door and I am only there about twice a month. Moreover, I like that they have kept much of the retro look of the 1950s & 1960s when it was the Coronet, which was THE place for a burger, fries and a milkshake after a movie in my youth. read more

My friends and I decided to try out Crazy Beans for lunch and SO glad we did! I had the Juicy Lucy burger special and fries. It was huge and delicious. My friend had a pulled pork panini and she moaned over it; it was so good and huge. The other gal had a BLT with avacado and gobbled it down. The servings were so big we took half our sandwiches home. Our waitress, Amanda, was so nice and prompt and answered any questions we had. We tried to give her a large tip but tips are shared (we still gave the well deserved tip to the crew). We definitely recommend this restaurant. Ordered pickup from this place as they have no outdoor seating option during Covid (they are seating people indoors only). When placing my pickup order I was told to arrive in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later I show up and walk inside. There is no social distancing indoors (masses of people crammed into the restaurant by the entrance) and when I asked if my order was ready I was told to wait inside. When saying I prefer to wait outdoors (because the environment felt unsafe) I was given a hard time by one of the employees. I went to stand outside anyway and ended up waiting another 15-20 minutes for my order. In the meantime, I had to go back into the crowded restaurant to check on the order multiple times. During one of those times, I asked to add iced coffee to my order and was told to pay for that separately and then pay again for my food order once it's ready. This caused me to have to spend double the amount of time in a restaurant that already wasn't doing a good job with social distancing/ safety protocols. By the time we got our order, my food was cold- must have been sitting there for awhile. For anyone who is looking for a safe eating option in Greenport, I would avoid ordering or dining at this place. read more

First: they have a great hostess who knows her restaurant and gave us a dead-on wait time. She sends you along with the buzzer thing and even told us just how far we could walk in the village and still have it work. I ordered the cheesy biscuits with sausage gravy and was thoroughly disappointed to see a plate full of cheese sauce emerge from the kitchen. My biscuits were cheddar, sure, but the sauce did not resemble anything near gravy and there was less than one sausage link in that sea of cheese. I was counting on the sausage gravy and it being hearty, but it was not at all satisfying. My husband ordered an omelette and my mother-in-law got French toast - both totally fine. The place has a cool vibe and the wait wasn't bad, even on a Saturday morning, but a few tweaks like adding homefries defacto to omelette plates and offering biscuits and gravy with actual gravy or just accurately describing it on the menu would be appreciated. This was my first Greenport experience. My sister took me there for breakfast the morning after I arrived. I had one of the specials, lobster hash and it was very tasty. My only complaint is that the eggs were a little overcooked, since I had asked for them to be extremely runny and they were pretty dry. The service was exceptional.
