We attempted two other spots for brunch before finding Nookie's on Yelp. It was a Saturday morning, and we were able to get on their waitlist; and thankfully it was only a 15-20 minute wait for a party of 2. Nookies is a tiny retro diner at Silver Sands Resort. Park out front by the hotel entrance and you'll see a small sign for the diner. The space is tinnny; expect to sit elbow-to-elbow with other diners. We did counter seating and ALL THAT BREAD looked like heaven; the ladies at the griddle are making giant french toast, hash browns, pancakes, with layers of melted butter. I needed a lighter breakfast, so I got the omelette with french cheese and a side a greens salad. I believe I saw GF bread on the counter; and they do have alt-milk. The breakfast menu is very limited...

Nookies was a wonderful breakfast and I wish I could have stayed for lunch or tried out their dinner! Everything was so fresh and the open kitchen concept was great. Our mouths definitely watered watching the fluffiest pancakes get made, but we opted to save stomach space for the homemade donut, hashbrown with tuna and sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich. Everything was super yummy and flavorful. Although the donut pictured was the sprinkles one, we actually ended up getting the berries one, which was absolutely delightful. Our server was super nice, waters were always full, and the restaurant was small but homey. Next time, I plan to stop by to try their fried chicken sandwich!

Stayed two nights at Silver Sands and decided to stop in for breakfast on a Friday morning. The retro beach vibes of this diner are perfectly cohesive with the rest of the motel. Our server was kind and attentive and always made sure our coffee was full. We ordered the bacon French toast (omg delicious) and eggs with hashbrowns and an English muffin. They were the perfect sweet/savory combo to share. If you're in the area its totally worth a try. It's on the smaller side so I wouldn't recommend for large groups, but it is a great intimate breakfast setting for couples and small families.

Step back in time and enjoy comfort food Classics in this diner. Nookies offers up neo-1960's decor with a breezy nautical spin , classic comfort food just like grandma served and friendly, efficient service. Stop by for breakfast or lunch. You'll love it!

Breakfast just like your Grandma used to make, that is if your Grandma was Julia Child. In a 1950's diner setting you get food that would be considered gourmet if it was in the heart of Greenwich Village. Wonderful food, service and ambience.

Perfect breakfast on vacation! We stopped by here two days in the row, we had a short stay. We tried it once and had to stop by again. Food was delicious, we ordered different things on the menu, eggs and pancakes and sandwiches. And even the simple tea was very good! Service was great, amazing people who work there, helpful, patient and friendly! The dinner inside is so adorable, decorated with 50th in mind, so cute! And if it's nice outside you can grab your food to go and enjoy the view! Thank you!

Incredibly re-done little restaurant at the Silver Sands. Everything we ordered was 10/10. Especially enjoyed the beats, sourdough and the brothy beans fish dish. Our bartender recommended blood orange cosmos which were a hit. Overall really enjoyed the experience and will be back!

Cute small breakfast diner vibes . Sausage Egg & Cheese was so good & the smash burger surprisingly was not heavy or greasy ! Would definitely stop by again

Popped in for a quick weekend lunch since they had visibly open tables and we were seated right away. The person who showed us to our table led the way, and then dropped menus and utensils in a booth and kept walking. As soon as we made our way through the small restaurant, the absolute filth of the place was the only thing I could focus on. There were food scraps and garbage littering almost every surface of the floor. Our own table had dirty napkins, crumbs and half spilled sugar packets underneath, and the bench needed a wipe down before I could sit. Condiments on the table were dirty and if you moved them, the table was covered with crumbs underneath so no one is moving the condiments to clean. The bathroom was equally disgusting and unkempt. Despite all signs pointing to that we should've left immediately, we were hungry and had been driving for awhile. The food/drink was nothing like the other locations we've visited. In my 20 years of ordering Mimosas, I have never before been asked if I wanted a single or a double. It's prosecco, not shots. I went for the single because my expectations were low, and was presented with a weird little lowball glass of pineapple juice and a jigger of prosecco. That is completely ridiculous to cut a serving in half and call it a "single". For $12 you can buy an entire decent bottle of prosecco, and probably at least three bottles of whatever cheap they're serving. It feels like a cheat not to get a full serving. I ordered the Bootlegger for my meal which is fried chicken, melted cheese, bacon and Russian dressing on a roll. It arrived on a tiny hamburger bun with no dressing. Our server came once to ask how everything was the moment the plates were set down, and left when I told her I hadn't tried it yet. It then took about 10 minutes to obtain a side of dressing once I noticed my sandwich was dry. It was edible, but definitely not worth ever having again. My husband ordered corned beef hash and eggs, which was a plate filled with boxed potato sprinkled with pieces of corned beef. Eggs were fine. We did not use any of the condiments since it was clear they hadn't been swapped out or cleaned, and really tried to get out of this dirty environment as fast as possible. Servers were all concentrated in the bar area, some on phones clearly not busy...so it makes one wonder why no one thought to sweep the floor or wipe down a table. The state of the dining room was truly disgusting and honestly surprising. Our server barely attended to us so we opted not to bring this complaint to her directly and judging by the demeanor of the other staff, there wasn't a manger on duty. The bigger problem here is that if the public-facing front of house can look that way, I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. We will never return to this location and sincerely hope it can be brought up to the same standards as the others.

The vibes are immaculate. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I got the chai tea latte, lemon poppyseed scone, and the avocado toast with bacon. OMG. Everything is a 10/10. The chai is perfect. Not too sweet but still very spiced forward. The scone was not too dry and all the right amount of sweetness. The avocado toast is to die for. The avocado is perfectly ripped, the jammy egg has me questioning my egg making skills, and the chili crisp adds a nice kick without it being overpowering. The bacon I added add an extra layer of protein, which was perfectly cooked. My friends got a ham and cheese croissant, which I tasted and wished I got one to go. Overall, this is an outstanding place for bites that are filling and delicious. I can't wait to try their lunch goodies!!

Twenty five years ago it was still Bruce's Café, aka Cheese Emporium, and I remember many a happy visit there with my mom and brother, for muffins, for scones, for cheeses, for brunches, and for the wonderful people who worked there. The bakery-style counter of muffins and scones is gone, and it's quite a different look these days, but the meals served by a new xrew of wonderful people lives up to the legacy granted in my memories. Ok, after that extended intro, let me tell you what we all ordered. I got the carrot "lox" sandwich, and I was truly surprised by how convincing the vegan lox was - before becoming a vegetarian I loved lox, and though the texture was a bit different (more tender than chewy) the taste was startling close. The fried egg was perfectly done and all the fixings - the whipped cream cheese, capers, dill - were excellent. DEVOURED. My dad is very old school and kind of didn't know what to do when he saw the menu, so knowing his tastes, I recommended the Savory Oats, and he was astonished with the dish he received. He all but licked the plate clean. My dad's girlfriend ordered the cheeseburger with the addition of bacon, and not only did they perfectly cook the burger to her preferences, the whole thing was as beautiful as it looked (if I wasn't a vegetarian). I think she may have left a lonely pickle slice or two on her plate. The girlfriend and I also both ordered the iced version of the "pep talk" beverage. It was a LITTLE sweeter than I would prefer and I would have liked a stronger fennel presence, but she adored it just as it was, so I was glad to have given her the idea. The service, from the host at the register, to the server who took our order and the additional staff who bussed the table, was excellent. It was a busy summer Friday and I was a bit worried because I was time-restricted thanks to needing to catch a train, but they were efficient and cordial while keeping the vibe laid-back in a way that seemed effortless (which I'm very sure it wasn't). The current prices might make it so that I couldn't patronize this establishmrnt as often as I did with Bruce's Café, but everything is so good and it has such a classy, elevated feel, it is worth every penny. Thank you to Bruce and Son and its wonderful staff for letting me experience both a lovely meal wrapped in bittersweet bittersweetly cozy memories.

Due to our party size and our dog, we sat outside near the back parking, which had abandoned-looking seating (broken, dirty, etc.). However, it was shaded and you could hear the music next door. There's also 3 two-person tables near the entrance outside around the corner. The inside is retro and feels like you're dining inside a cozy house and an ice cream bar (Hershey's brand). It felt bustling as a standard diner on a weekend. Service (5/5): When we were walking toward the exterior back, the people outside near side entrance, had warned us that the service was abysmal. We loitered near the corner to let the waitress know we were wanting to get seated in the back (basically away from sight). Once seated, she came back and wiped down the dirty tables (which I'm sure no one usually opts to sit at due to their state). We immediately placed our orders before she went away. I think by doing so, our food came out lightning fast. She also came to check in on us twice throughout our dining. Sausage & Cheddar Flatbread Scramble (3/5): Expect an omelet on a piece of flatbread. The bread did not taste very good (perhaps store bought?) The home fries were deliciously crunchy. Breakfast Burrito (3/5): Nothing really stood out about the burrito. Croissant French toast (3/5): I liked how it wasn't too sweet with the filled cream but it felt like it was missing something. The addition of the table maple syrup definitely helped. I think next time, I would opt for the regular French toast.
