The parking lot looked a little lonely when I pulled in. Not dead exactly, just resting its eyes. Inside were a handful of regulars who had the settled look of people who know which waitress works Tuesdays and which booth wobbles. My kind of crowd. The waitress appeared almost before I sat down. I did not need the menu. Two scrambled eggs, home fries, white toast, scrapple, coffee. Scrapple, for the uninitiated, is what happens when Pennsylvania Dutch thrift and ingenuity collides with breakfast meat and nobody asks too many questions afterward. It is made from pork "scraps," cornmeal and existential resignation. Fried correctly, it is uniquely magnificent. Mine was magnificent. Thin slices, crisp around the edges, soft and moist in the middle, clearly worked on a grill by somebody who respected the material. The eggs were right, the home fries actually tasted of potatoes, and the coffee arrived hot and kept returning as faithfully as a Labrador retriever. The food came out with astonishing speed, which under the circumstances may have saved me from gnawing on the booth. Eighteen bucks including tip. If in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Not the singer but an Amazing server and so Kind and friendly!! She reminds me of when my Grandparents had several restaurants as I grew up in New Jersey. Idil makes you feel immediately at ease and very welcomed. Her service is always consistent and great. Many servers are great, But no one is charming and really builds that relationship where You WANT to come back as soon as possible!! We also Love Aleeka!! She's amazing, too. We Love these Ladies and their service is Great! The place is always spotless and well cared for and Clean! It reminds my family of when diners were Diners in NJ.
