    Shrimp and chicken basket

We stopped in on a Thursday for lunch-so looking forward to a great seafood experience. First of all, we should have checked the menu before going. We specifically came to a crab place to get crab cakes. But they do not serve crab cakes here. We ordered hush puppies for an appetizer and they were so overcooked. For entrees we ordered the seafood pasta, crab fried rice and a fried shrimp and chicken basket. The seafood pasta was okay. The octopus were whole and really chewy. The calamari was also very chewy. The fried rice was terrible. The crab they put on top was sooooo over seasoned you couldn't even taste the crab. The whole thing was very salty. The shrimp and chicken basket was okay. The chicken had no flavor at all. The one good thing they served was the cocktail sauce. On top of the food being subpar the service was extremely slow. Also, I noticed people(I'm assuming employees) were wearing regular street clothes waiting on people, serving, and going into the kitchen. No uniform whatsoever. At the end of the meal I visited the ladies room. Having a wheelchair bound person in my family I like to check out the bathroom to see if it is handicap accessible. This place does have a handicap stall but in order to get a wheelchair in the stall you would have to move a large trash can into the other stall to get the wheelchair by. It always makes me angry when restaurants don't think about the logistics of a wheelchair bound person. This restaurant was an overall disappointment.

While in town for business, my colleague insisted we dine at Crazy Crab. We started with the hushpuppy appetizer which was good but with the dipping sauce made them delicious. We both had the snow crab boil. When my friend's came out, it was clearly not a pound, but the manager was very polite and brought her another cluster. The crab was excellent! It wasn't overcooked so it was easy to eat and the garlic butter was to die for! This was definitely the best crab boil I've ever had and will be returning during my next trip to El Paso!

Back to Crazy Crab for their delicious seafood boil. This place simply rocks with a kid friendly environment and designated play area, a fun sports bar with great cocktails and of course some great Cajun style spicy butter sauce that will make your mouth begging for more King Crab. The service is super friendly and efficient. There is often a long line so enjoy a drink at the bar and you got this.

It was a great time to get a valentine's day lunch here. Food came out super fast, and everything was hot!! I wish they had a different tartar sauce. Catfish kinda had no flavor! I would recommend coming back, the food did not disappoint.

I had almost given up on finding good, fresh seafood in El Paso, especially a great seafood boil, after moving here from Houston, where Viet Cajun boils were my go-to. Thankfully, Crazy Crab at The Fountains changed that! I attended the Annie Adventures Friendsgiving event here, and the experience was amazing. The fried dishes were crispy, the sauces were incredibly flavorful, and the seafood boil was seasoned to perfection. The seasoning really soaked into the seafood, making every bite better than the last. The portions are very generous--we took home leftovers that tasted even better the next day. The restaurant is fantastic for large groups, the staff is super friendly, and there's even a play area for kids. Plus, the drinks are strong and complement the food perfectly. If you're craving seafood in the middle of the desert, I highly recommend Crazy Crab. They've got it all--great food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. Find them at 8889 Gateway Blvd W #1530, El Paso, TX 79925! -TODOELPASO

Definitely wouldn't not recommend this place, I should've known when I walked in and it was empty. I ordered an extra spicy seafood boil with shrimp and muscles and while I got it to go I should've stayed and ate it there. Long story short the sauce was more like a water and I eventually ended up throwing it up. Do not eat here.

Maybe it was the busy day that drained me and exhausted from all of the walking at work. We quickly found an agreeable place to eat. We're weren't overly hungry since we had a big lunch so kept this on the lighter side of eating. Obviously if my appetite were different I would have made different selections. I chose the Fried Oyster Basket which came on a bed of fries. Food was brought to our table quickly so needless to say everything was piping hot! Our server was prompt and attentive! It wasn't a busy night at all so took our time and enjoyed the meal. I've never experienced this restaurant before so I may have to look for one on my next trip wherever that may take me!

I love crab and wanted to check this place out. It was as I expected, overpriced and underwhelmed. Mostly empty for a Sunday, service was okay, we were seated quickly. The menu had an ok variety but I was expecting, hoping for options to eat crab without gloves and bib. The appetizer of soft shell crab that I got was half empty and tiny, with straps of iceberg lettuce on half the plate. The prices were outrageous of course but I expected that for this cuisine. I think it was $70 for a pound of one variety of crab, can't remember which. I got the lobster tail with tiny patatos and tiny sections of corn on the cob. No bread, no rice, no crackers. I opted for the butter garlic sauce and boy was it buttery. I tasted butter for the rest of the day. Aftet a $50 meal I left hungry and broke. All in all, I won't return unless someone else is treating. Glad to have tried it out though.

This updated review is brought to you in part by, "first impressions aren't always necessarily the…read morelasting impressions". Since the original inception of this place and our initial discovery, something has been wavering just a bit. The consistency. Ultimately, the food still tastes as great as it did the first time we ever ordered it. However, there have been a number of inconsistencies in their execution. But to name a few, there's things like.. Lack of white sauce, too much white sauce, too much spice, forgotten proteins, inexplicably missing rice, half a lobster tail's meat sticking to the shell whilst the other half breaks off with ease.. ...and SO on. At this point, it's safe to say I have mixed feelings about this place. I still LOVE their seafood. I'm just irritated by their inconsistent execution, depending on what day it is, who's working, or how many people even decided to show up to work that day. I know this probably sounds like a negative review. But let me sum this up with the following: the food is still awesome, but the execution needs some touching up. And it is with this rationale that I must update my original review from 5 stars...to 4. Still highly recommend them. But....proceed with the aforementioned caveats. In other words, check your food before you depart the building. If you want to read about why the food is so good, check out my first review of this place. Thank you.
