Had a very very good pulled pork smoked BBQ sandwich had sweet BBQ sauce On the side was sweet but not overly, my wife had the coleslaw and I had the BBQ beans they were good as well , you are greeted when you come in and with a shot of one of the drinks they make when you first sit down . Up front, EXCELLENT FOOD, and awful service. All servers in the bar came up and introduced themselves which was nice but seemed excessive. Within 20 minutes of arriving and sitting down we were greated by 5 different staff members before we were able to give our order. We didn't even know who our server actually was because it seemed like The Babysitter's Club kept a constant rotation of checking on our table but no one knew what was going on. When it came time to pay our bill my wife asked for a to go box for leftovers. One of the extroverted servers left with her plate and returned to our table 15 minutes later. She danced her way up to us (like Borat), no leftovers in hand, and asked why we are leaving before 'international night' started. I explained we were still waiting for the leftover food she had so eagerly walked away with to box up. They allow smoking in the bar, and the drinks are good but are basically melted Popsicles in mason jars. Not much booze. I love this place. We are from KC. We stopped in over 12 years ago to this local dive that we, as "tourists", did not really fit in to but we love supporting local and "dive" bars. We kept coming back and then it turned into Cheeky Monkey. We met the new owners and they seemed like great people. We stopped back in a few years ago and had the pulled pork. I can't say enough good. ALL the staff, including J, were so inviting, friendly, and fun. All their cheeky monkey drinks are so tasty. They play great music, something for everyone. What a wonderful place the servers are the owners and are super friendly and they bring you the daily shot as soon as you walk in the door. Their happy hour is great and you can play free pool. The drinks were great but the food is the real diamond it was the best BBQ I have had in a long time and I eat a lot of BBQ. The nachos are to die for.
