I'm not from this area so I looked up highly rated places and Eddies popped up and boy and I happy it did. The food was so good, made fresh in front of you and the lovely lady at the counter had the best customer service. The building is small but has the cozy family feel. Wow! Firstly the staff are super friendly the minute you walk in. It was my first time there and it was a special request from a friend in the nearby hospital for a 'proper hot dog' that found me there. Ordered a hot dog and fries. Super fast service and the lady cooking it was chatting away asking about my friend. Very kind. While standing there, checked out the whole menu. It's HUGE and there's certainly something for everybody on there!! Verdict? 'Amazeballs' from my friend. Indeed, it looked and smelled great. It was massive too with no shortage of toppings. Okay I must say, I am so happy I came into this establishment! First off, the owners are soooo nice and amazing! The husband was very hospitable and warm with welcoming me into their place. We have driven by here many times and never stopped. Used to go to 49 station. Found out today it closed down so we decided to try this place out. Wish we discovered it so much sooner! WOW! The menu is HUGE. Soooo many options. Almost too hard to choose. The owner is EXTREMELY friendly and informative helping us decide what to choose. I don't write very many reviews, but I really want to boast about the exceptional service and food I got from Crazy Eddie's. As it was my first time, I felt welcomed with a friendly greeting from Eddie (owner) and his wife (owner). Eddie and I had a conversation about cheeses and real cheese substitutes for processed cheese (I HATE this stuff). It felt like I was talking to a friend! I ordered a tuna melt and Eddie and Pettina were so kind to honor my request of swapping out American cheese for cheddar. When I paid for my tuna melt, Pettina asked me if I wanted complimentary fudge and I did. The lemon fudge was sooooo delicious!! I was extremely pleased with the service that I plan on returning. My only regret is having driven by this place so many times and not have stopped in! So much, much more than paninis on the menu. They BBQ/smoke a lot of their own meats and make their own sauces. The husband and wife owners are friendly and funny. The pastrami sandwich I had was perfect... the meat was the right thickness and not overly chewy like some of the other pastrami I've had recently. It wasn't the food ... and we wished we could have tried it. Instead, it was the fact that the restaurant wasn't open, even though there was no mention on their website and the sign in the window said otherwise. This happened on January 3rd (2019) at 12:15pm. We understand that this is a nice little restaurant in a neat little town ... and that it's a small business likely run by a local family what won't be open all the time. Stuff happens, we get it. At the same time, businesses like this cater to tourists in addition to locals, and likely require that revenue in order survive. Therefore, the owners should keep in mind that if you're website says you'll be open, people are taking your word on that. Further, when you have a sign on your window saying you'll be open and that's not the case, then it only makes you look worse. For most people, it's easy to just drive to another restaurant. But at this time of year not everything is open. Add to that, we had one person in our party with a medical condition who preferred reviewing the menu in advance and eating within a certain timeframe. As such, we sought out certain restaurants in advance during our trip. Next time we'll just be sure to call them all in advance. Anyways, gave two stars rather than one because we want to be compassionate. We support local businesses and will continue to do so. read more

I went here for the first time last week & the food is CRAZY GOOD! I had a BBQ Brisket sandwich with my first time trying fried pickles. They both were super yummy! The two people working there, were super polite, very informative & helpful. The serving sizes are great & the sandwich had plenty of meat in it. My friend & I split the order. This is a little hole in the wall along Highway 49. Super friendly people and fresh delicious and filling food. If you're driving 49 and thinking about stopping for a Whopper and saving some time - don't do it! I prefer to not hit the fast food chains on these trips so checked Yelp along the way and decided on Crazy Eddies. The woman and guy running the place recommended the grilled cheese bacon burger. Excellent. I was really hungry and almost gave in to the Whopper 30 minutes ago. I'm glad I didn't. The burger was excellent. Bacon was thick, tomato was ripe, perfectly grilled bread. The burger patty was a little overdone but it was tasting meat and still a 4 star meal. They added a square of fudge on the side. Nice touch, as was as the sample of beer the guy gave me. Apparently Eddie Brews his own beer and this place has some extras that are worth noting. Overheard that they sell dinners on Friday night and of course, they have Eddie's beer. Probably the best thing - nice people here. They were both friendly and had lots to recommend about the food. Both avid barbecuers with killer BBQ rigs. Probably the best thing in Calaveras county. I finally stopped in after living in valley springs my whole life, and man did I regret not going there for all these years. Once I walked in I was greeted with great customer service and was also lucky to have Eddie introduce me to the menu as well as the sauces they serve there which are totally awesome.
