This is a not to be missed gem! I would give it 6 stars if I could. We arrived mid-morning on a Monday and the place was packed. We were warmly greeted and seated in our choice of inside or outside (we chose in). We are from the South and know great southern cooking and this is the REAL DEAL (with a Cajun bent). Service is friendly, helpful and frequent with multiple folks helping each other. Everything is cooked from scratch and to order. Portions are over the top - you better be hungry! We had the Fried Green Ta'mators Beni and the Do Dat Omelet, that was served with a gravy covered biscuit that covered its own plate! Everything was delicious! We finally got around to trying this little gem and we couldn't be happier! What a great place for breakfast or lunch. The vibe is laidback and chill, a great place to eat, visit and relax. The service was great! Everyone was kind, friendly and attentive. It felt like visiting a friend's house with the added bonus of a delicious meal. The food selection is great. A unique take on some everyday comfort foods. Between the three of us we had the chicken fried steak omelette, delicious crispy bacon, homemade biscuits served with house made honey butter and jam, and delicious French toast. I went there last week, I was camping nearby in Big Tree state park. Stop by Arnold town to charge my car and eat brunch. 1) Decor is cute, has those yellow chair outside, very nice decor for a small restaurant in a small town. 2) talked to a person(lady) working there, maybe she is owner. She is super nice. Everyone there is friendly. 3) Order omlette, food is good. 4) I saw in their counter, the hot sauce selection is very good. I am not a spicy person. For Memorial day weekend we travel through state park territory and needed a place for brunch. Got a seat right away for the early brunch time but it seems became quite busy. They have 2 server that made their rounds to constantly check to make sure you're having a good time and refill your drinks. So service was good. Though one of the server gave me bf orange instead of grape juice but it's not really a big deal. It's juice - it's drinkable We got shrimp and grits - and the best thing ever ever Fried green tomatoes bennies. Shrimp and grits is a meal and a half. It's humangous. My full grown man did not finish it was a lot surprisingly for the price. Grits itself was cheesy . I didn't get a video of the cheesepull sorry My most favorite thing ever eaten this year so far is the Fried Green Tomatoes Egg Benedict. I kid you not. I am not exaggerating. Did I know I love fried green tomatoes before this? Ya I knew it. But I didn't know if you combine FGT with egg Benedict you get this combination of flavor explosion. The sauce is a bit more smokey I think it's like a chipotle hollandaise? So it just kick the favor up several notch. The FGT itself was a perfect crunch so you got your creamy egg and sauce to really give a balance texture. The home fries is a lil bit smaller in comparison on the dish but who cares when the star of the dish serves beyond expectations why is this place so damn far from my house - if I live around here I'm coming here every week - on both weekends to fill my obsession of FGT. I keep leaving reviews for Heart and Soul, but every time we go there, it just gets better. We went for lunch over the holiday weekend and the service and food only gets better. Back up in Arnold this weekend with our daughter in-law and granddaughter. We had breakfast this morning and both loved the food. Our granddaughter is very picky, but not this time. You know pancakes are good when you can eat them without syrup. They have coloring books and crayons for children to use. They also had some game which was cool for those that don't like to color. Hands down the best brunch I've ever had! There are plenty of options (both sweet and savory). My favorite had to be the ragin Cajun omelette. The Cajun sauce they put on top was incredible and went so well with the sausage. The French toast came with a homemade whipped honey butter which was incredible and added so much flavor. They also had a counter of hot sauces (over 100) that added so much flavor to the dishes. The staff were also extremely friendly and had such a warm and comforting vibe. We were immediately greeted and sat ..the employees were all super nice and very accommodating. I stopped in here because I was charging my car at the near by charging station. I had the Biscuits and Gravy Etouffee. It was so delicious!! The 2 biscuits were flaky and THAT gravy!! Wow!! So good!! Very flavorful!! The service was excellent!! There was a big party (15) that came in right after me. So I was lucky I got there when I did!! As the people that came in after the big party were told they would have about a 30 minute wait for food, but they could serve them drinks right away. We came to Heart and Soul at 11:00. There is lots of parking. The restaurant is very cute and clean. This is the second time we have come and had the same upbeat, sweet, brunette waitress. I am not sure when lunch starts but it's not served at 11:00. I ordered the 1/2 order of Biscuits & Gravy with a side of potatoes. My husband ordered Shrimp and Grits with an Egg on top. All was delicious and cooked perfectly. We would come back and share the Shrimp and Grits. The flavors remind me of New Orleans. It does have a little heat. I love all the sausage and bacon pieces. The shrimp was not over cooked which was great, especially when every table was filled when we left. I hope this restaurant does well! read more

We were camping at Big Trees and were looking for a solid lunch. We found Heart & Soul and decided to give it a try. We went with a burger and a shrimp & grits dish. The service was pretty sluggish on a slow Saturday afternoon. There were quite a few people working there, but their focus seemed to be on things other than the customers. When the food did arrive it was fair (a generous 4 out of 5). The burger was tasty, and the shrimp & grits was large. The meal was pretty greasy... not surprising considering what we ordered, but still left us feeling like it was a bit too much. All in all, it was ok/good, but we'll probably look for other options next time. read more

We tried here for breakfast and what a pleasant surprise it was! Since it was early in the morning, we were seated right away. My crab Eggs Benedict (not in regular menu) was excellent! Very thick, almost like a baseball size crab cakes were meaty and tasty, topped with perfectly cooked eggs and drizzled with creamy cajun sauce. Mmm so good. This is one of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Inside is simply decorated, cozy and spacious. Very friendly services with two ladies working hard refilling coffee and water, and asking how's the food tarting. I live in the area and usually eat breakfast at home, but I'd come back here again to try more items from the menu for sure. Had the pleasure of finally trying this place out for lunch. It was a weekday so they were not busy only saw two other groups the whole time we were there. Service was very good by a friendly waitress. Got served a flat soda but they quickly fixed the machine and I got a well carbonated one in a few minutes. We had a Blue Cheese wedge salad which was fine nothing special but we enjoyed it also a chicken sandwich. The breading on the chicken was overcooked, waitress explained its "blackened" but it was definitely left in the fryer too long, next time I will request it less blackened as the flavor of the sandwich was really good and I would order it again. read more
