A small drive in I have seen on Facebook Reels for about a year. Their breakfast looked so good, we went a bit out of our way to get here. Old drive in atmosphere. I was surprised there were only two people in the place, but it was 1030, between breakfast and lunch. Several people came in to pick up to-go orders. Order at the counter and they deliver it to the table. I will have to say, this breakfast was a dream. I ordered the sausage and cheese omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. This omelet was perfect, no browning of the eggs and stuffed with sausage and a bit of cheese. The hash browns were so crunchy but pillow like inside. It definitely lived up to my expectations. It's a good thing I live 400 miles away or so. Cooks are Southeast Asian, maybe Laotian, not sure, But, they sure can cook up a mean breakfast. Kudos to them for running a diner that serves great food. They do sandwiches as well. read more

Patio Drive In is a small, family owned and operated diner, located in the small Sierra Nevada foothill town of San Andreas, in beautiful Calaveras County. This fine restaurant dishes out fine diner cuisine every day of the week, except Monday. Funny thing is I've driven by this restaurant countless times during the past quarter century, and for some strange reason, today was the first day that I was able to enjoy their delicious diner cuisine. The restaurant operates on what I label a "taqueria format." You walk up to the order counter, make your selection from the overhead menu, pay for your order, and receive a "number," and choose any available table. When your order is ready, it will be brought to you by one of the friendly staff members. The printed menu is available to view at the counter, as the overhead menu is somewhat abbreviated. Unlike many other restaurants, Patio Drive In didn't seem to being much of a to-go business, as I suppose San Andreas locals prefer to enjoy their meal, inside the diner, like I do. Gold country dining at the best! From the "Breakfast" section of the menu, I went with "Sausage Lover," as that definitely describes my taste for breakfast. The menu describes this amazing dish as, "Choice of chicken apple sausage or hot sausage, two eggs, hash browns and toast." As an aside... Patio Drive In is very serious about breakfast, and breakfast is served any time the restaurant is open. I went with the "hot sausage" option, which is truly the way to get a Tuesday morning started the right way. My sausage was spit in half, perfectly grilled, with a skin that "crunched" when I bit into it, and the inside was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The menu described the sausage as "hot," ... I can't say that, but it did have a pleasant "kick" to it. Of course heat is in the mouth of the beholder... Simply an amazing piece of sausage, perfectly grilled! The hash browns were crispy on the outside, and tender, white and juicy on the inside, just the way perfect hash browns are cooked. I went with my eggs fried sunnyside up, and that's the way they arrived... perfectly fried as per my request. My delicious breakfast included two pieces of sourdough toast - many varieties of toast are offered - and the toast was perfectly toasted, buttered and made for an excellent way for me to clean up my plate. For all Calaveras County "foodies" and breakfast lovers... Patio Drive In serves an amazing breakfast! Great dining in San Andreas! This little ole burger stand has a small hometown charm to it. The place is not fancy. Basic. It has indoor seating which is a nice air conditioned respite in the summertime. The staff and staff friendly and welcoming. They have a super large menu, lots of items to choose from. Breakfast items, corn dogs, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and sides (fries, taters, chicken strips, fried mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, egg rolls, fried zucchini). I ordered a corn dog. It was the premade kind and they fresh fry it. Some of the items are fresh made while others are premade frozen. Typical fast food type food. Plus they have lots of dessert choices. Soft serve, milkshakes with 20 flavors, smoothies (four flavors), frappes, Thai iced tea, and Cambodian iced tea. Last month when I dropped in, lots of folks stopped by to grab desserts. Today was the first time had food from this place and was impressed. Not only are the ingredients fresh you get good value for your money. The place is clean and one thing my friend noted was there was NO smell of old grease! Which can be a big turn off. Also liked that we were able to call in the order. Will go back again. read more

I was surprised there wasn't much more business here because the food... WAS GREAT! Little ice cream/burger shop that's been here forever but when I saw they had breakfast we decided to give it a go! $42 for two breakfasts and a large order of biscuits and gravy. Eggs Benedict was amazing! Sauce was in my opinion just right and the corned beef was equally as great! This will for sure be a normal weekend spot from here on out! After months of following Patio Dive In on Facebook. We finally made it here! I can tell you IT DIDNOT DISAPPOINT! The pictures they post make the food look amazing. You know pictures sometimes can be deceiving. But not here. These guys are making some amazing things to eat. We left Nevada yesterday morning in hopes that we would make it here in time for breakfast and we did thankfully. Patio Drive In is not a super big restaurant. The parking is kinda small. But there is parking on the street. So you should be able to get a spot. If not park down the street and walk here. Because it's worth it. My wife ordered the French toast with an egg with sausage and I had the corned beef hash breakfast with hash browns and sourdough toast. The food didn't take long at all and tasted as good as I had hoped. I came in with high expectations and they delivered. I can't believe I've passed by this place all this time. Well it won't happen again. I can't wait to go back and try one of their lunch items. Kudos to Patio Drive In for making great food and having great service! read more

Great lil mom and pops hidden gem! Patio Drive-in's name is catchy and I was already checking it out driving past it on the way to Natural Bridges. On the way back, I knew I had to stop by for some grub. It's not actually a drive-in, but just a local mom and pops shop with everything you could possibly want after a long day on the creek - burgers, sandos, coffee, dipped cones, coffee, and breakfast all day! What?! Spicy Jalapeño Burger 5/5* This was a big boy! With chipotle sauce and jalapeños, it definitely packed some heat. I could barely fit a bite in with it being so loaded! It came with a mountain of steak fries, so fresh out of the fryer that it burned my fingertips trying to eat them, and stayed hot throughout the meal. Patty Melt 4/5* Damn, the perfectly grilled, buttery, crisp rye bread couldn't hold in the massive amount of meat in this patty melt. The patty was thick and well seasoned. The cheese was nice and gooey. A bit more gooeyness and this would've been dreamy. Came with the same mountain of hot-ass crispy fries. Wish I had swapped it out for tater tots instead. Iced Cambodian Coffee 5/5* What a treat to be able to get good coffee in the late afternoon! This is a sweeter, slightly smoky, less intense version of Vietnamese coffee. Don't skip out on this, it's delicious. I even saw one lady buy some with no ice to save it for the next morning. The guy at the counter was super friendly and I thought maybe it was the owner? I love how mom and pops spots treat you like family. They definitely feed you like family, so be prepared to eat! The portions are huge and will leave you satisfied. There were so much fries, it filled an entire to-go box! I was so stuffed I didn't get to try their chocolate dipped cones. Will need to come back for that next time. The five stars is for the food and the kind and polite service at the counter. I've had their burger and their chicken sandwich; both were delicious. The fries taste great and are extra crispy. My absolute favorite, though, is the deep-fried mushrooms. They are INCREDIBLE! The restaurant itself is typical of a drive-in style fast food place in the foothills (and the booths and tables are fixed too narrow for a big guy like me to be comfortable in them), but the food is truly killer. read more

Cannot speak about the food. My wife and I stopped in for ice cream. I ordered a large vanilla chocolate dipped cone and my wife ordered a "swirl" come. (Chocolate and vanilla) The 8ce cream in both cones was watery. Not like.ice cream at all. Really weird and disappointing. Before my wife could finish hers there was water dripping from the bottom. Been here on multiple occasions where the food and service was totally fine but last night was rough. Saw new faces in the kitchen, the food reflected it, and the service went back to square one. I just finished removing the last bits of hockey-puck tasting cheeseburger and tater tots from my sinuses this morning, guess what I did all night?! The younger people taking orders have always been wonderful but unfortunately when I ordered a large onion ring they gave me 4 tiny rings and when I complained they gave me and extra tiny one and said I could only have 5 but when the table next to us got theirs they had huge rings and way more than what I got. The food and service here is always EXCELLENT! The owners and their family are very sweet and accommodating people. Our personal experience: my daughter's name is Callie after the Cala lily and once, when we were at the patio, they had fresh cut Cala lilys on the counter. The owner noticed us taking pics of the flowers and went and cut us our very own from her garden during our visit. Top notch, I tell ya! Really diverse menu. Something for everyone. Very sanitary. Patio Drive In is located in a small town in the hills, about an hour east of Lodi. The restaurant is situated on the main drag through town, on the way to just about wherever you would be likely to be headed. Better still, I've never passed the place when it wasn't open. I've eaten at this place three times now, as I've had recent business in this out of the way corner of the Golden State. I can recall ordering both the breakfast burrito and sausage and cheese omelette. Both were above average and service was not slow. More significantly, on each occasion I've been there, I've spent at least an hour poring over papers related to what I've been working on. This may seem like a small thing. It isn't to me. I wasn't hassled and the place is quiet. I have appreciated the small courtesy, and will be back to eat here again and again. read more

Don't miss Eggs Benedict here. I opted to take my mom to breakfast yesterday morning to avoid the Mother's Day Brunch Madness. Our favorite thing for brunch is Eggs Benedict. I always say don't order eggs Benedict on a busy day like Mother's Day because something is going to be wrong with it. I just had a perfect Eggs Benedict on Mother's Day. True poached eggs not cooked in the silicone cookers. Generous amount of Hollandaise sauce. Patio is one of my go to breakfast spots for Eggs Benedict. read more

This is my favorite restaurant of all time. The food is awesome their burgers are good their fry's are super crispy and have good seasoning. The food is always fresh. Customer service is awesome and good price for the quantity of food. Their chicken strips and chicken sandwiches are good too. I am SHOCKED at what happened to me today at the Patio, it was a true restaurant horror story. I went in for lunch with my class for work and me and my co worker ordered our food, we ordered one Caramel frap and one caramel shake. When our order was ready they handed us our food and handed us two Caramel fraps (no big deal I ordered a shake but I like fraps too) me and my co worker sat down and I had a sip of the frap they hand HANDED me, what seemed to be the owner or whoever was in charge (a black haired woman) came up to me and said "you ordered a caramel milkshake" I thought she was coming over to correct their mistake and I said "no big deal the frap is fine" she said "no you need to pay more for the frap" THE FRAP THEY HANDED ME. I said "umm no" then she said she would take the frap then and make my shake and I was like fine here you go. SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO TAKE THE FRAP AND HAND IT TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER AND REPLACED THE STRAW. THE FRAP I DRANK FROM!!!
