    Spooky price

these prices are crazy!!! In this economy for 2 pizza's???? It's October & these prices are spooky. $2-3 for an extra topping?I have never paid this much for a pizza.. we were hopping the price was worth the pizza.. but my goodness, horrible. we will not cheat on dominos again . The man taking order was kind tho! Overall, horrible pizza. 1/10

There are very few delivery options after 9 in downtown Portland and this place should be celebrated! Not just because of their late hours, fast delivery and friendly drivers. This pizza is SO SO SO good! I got the roasted garlic tomato sauce with extra cheese for us and a pepperoni pizza for the front desk as a little thank you (Paramount Hotel) for the wonderful service. We all loved it. I appreciate that they offer an option to include utensils and my only suggestion would be to also offer paper plates. I'm not sure what the "crazy pizza sauce" is but it tastes like a pesto/ranch blend and it's very good. It's included so make sure to try it out.

Ordered a chocolate milkshake for 10.95 and it was ice and milk. It didn't taste like chocolate. I POLITELY told the girl that it didn't taste right and asked for a refund. Another employee came to the window and took the milkshake from my hand and said she needed to throw it away. The original girl came back and told me that she couldn't refund the product or remake the milkshake. After a little back and forth, she said her manager allowed her to offer me a cookie in place of the mistake. I politely declined and asked for the manager. The manager came around and said he was busy on the other side of the building and that they do not offer refunds for anything on the menu. This was our first and last visit.

BYO Pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza.

The pizza is a solid 4 stars, maybe even 4.5! But the rest was mostly just okay. We decided to try this new pizza place, in our quest to find the perfect pizza here in Portland. We got an 18" with pepperoni and Italian sausage, and it was tasty! The meats were flavorful and even had a little kick (or was that the sauce?) And the crust was near perfect. Not too thin or thick, with a nice chew! We also got 2 sides of ranch that I'd give 2 stars at best. It tasted like it was from a bottle and/or made with cheap oil. Luckily, I ordered it to dip my crust in, and the crust was so good I didn't need it. We also got a strawberry shake (3 stars from the hubby) and their chocolate chip and walnut cookie. Based on the photo on their site, I thought the cookie would be more chewy-gooey, but it was still good! The pizza was a little on the pricey side ($39 with the two toppings, and 2 sides of ranch that no one will eat, unfortunately) but in the end, I'd say it was worth it. It's going to be at least 2 meals for us two adults, so again: worth it. But the shake for $10? Not so much. Also on a high note: we ordered this via delivery, and I really appreciate how well everything was sealed and secure. I'm sure delivery drivers are not poking in my food (god I hope not, anyway!), but my germaphobic side appreciates this extra protection! Did we complete our quest to find the perfect pizza in Portland? Probably not. But it's still a super solid choice! I will definitely order the pizza, and even the cookies, from here again, and I might try some other sides. The salads look really good! Overall I'm happy! If the ranch was better I'd give it 4.5, if not 5 stars. So if you don't care about that, then I'd highly recommend this spot!

Build Your Own 14" Large Pizza with garlic tomato sauce and chicken
    Jenny C.

Ordered for delivery. Selected the 14-inch build your own: garlic tomato sauce and chicken. Not much chicken. Side of ranch was included - has interesting spices. Pizza was very expensive for what was provided. Crust is chewy and delicious (and there is lots of it). I did appreciate the safety precautions - the pizza box and drink were sealed. Wanted to try somewhere new, but probably won't order from here again.

    Calzone

Pretty inconsistent. First couple of times we ordered were perfect. But, last couple of times the pizza was dry and the calzone was burned on the bottom. At this point I will probably look elsewhere

It's truly sensational and the most authentic I have tasted! When I order I go in person because I have special requests of extra sauce, etc and everyone who leaves this amazing restaurant always raves about it to the staff upon leaving. The crust is perfect chewiness and perfection with the right amount of airy and right about of thin and the sauce is amazing! You will NOT be disappointed! They also fulfill my special requests with ease and a smile! I have told thousands of flight crew about this place as it's right around the corner from our layover hotel. New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.

A thin, flexible, and tasty-all-by-itself crust. Tomato sauce that adroitly walks the lines between sweet and acidic, and between supporting the other elements well, fading into obscurity, and overwhelming those other elements. The right amounts of the right cheeses. And fresh, tasty toppings. (Sweet Italian sausage not dominated by garlic and mushrooms worth eating on their own, for two delicious examples.) Even better, prices are reasonable, and delivery is available. We had some delivered to our hotel, and it arrived almost as hot and tasty as we would have expected were we at a table near the ovens. There are other pizzas worth eating -- including the thicker-crust "deep cut" slices available before and after select shows at Revolution Hall. But when you want the thin-crust version done right, Pizza Kat will leave your taste buds and tummy purring, without clawing the life out of your wallet.
