Traveling and found this place on Yelp. Thank you yelpers! Awesome place. I had the Frito pie and it was enough literally to feed up to 4 people and be satisfied. My wife had the small plate and she could only eat a quarter of it. My son's had ribs with sides and the other had turkey with pulled pork and brisket. Very good barbecue! And huge portions. We visited the drive through Saturday night with 6 people. The guy at the window was awesome, helped us with our order (we were in town from Arizona) and he let us taste the smoked turkey. When we pulled up to Larry's I was optimistic that this would be good. The parking lot was full and there was a line of cars at the drive through. Inside, after a short wait in the line to place an order at the counter we were greeted by three high school boys. A few concerns started to emerge; there is no beer, no smell of bbq smoke, and a very, very messy service counter. We ordered a sliced beef sandwich and a bbq dinner place with the sliced beef. They don't call it brisket which is strange in Texas. The beef was a good quality but not what I wanted or expected. It was not smoked at all. I'd say it was cooked in an oven just like you'd cook roast beef. Seriously? In Texas? I'd expect this in a wanabe place in another part of the country but never in Texas. If you want Texas BBQ avoid this place. The Iced Tea was also very watered down and terrible. Not sweetened. The specialty seems to be the Frito Pie which we did not try but looked very good and that's what most people were eating. I think Larry should rename his place to be Crazy Larry's Frito Pie as for BBQ he has no clue. read more

Larry may not remember my name, but he sure remembers seeing my face! I have been eating here for years. I once rode a circus style Penny Farthing (big wheel) bicycle across town just to eat here! I rode through the drive through to order and I think they might even have some pictures of me if you ask Larry. This is my favorite BBQ restaurant, and I always stop by when I'm back in town. Came here instead of Rudy's (see previous review), am thoroughly satisfied with my 1/4 sized order of their frito pie. Crazy Larry's is an amazing BBQ place with amazing service. Stopped in here for lunch after spending 30 minutes searching for a new place to try out and I must say I was not disappointed! Got the Rib combo plate with the chopped beef. Beef was moist and delicious and the ribs were amazing. The plate came with a really good potato salad, cole slaw and some tasty beans. The BBQ sauce at this place is phenomenal and tastes different than anything I've ever had. The customer service was the best I've ever had, and the owner even shook my hand and showed me around. Bad BBQ and I'm using BBQ as loose as I Possibley can. Beef was bland chicken was ok and sausage wasn't sausage it was a smoked beef stick that the over cooked. Sauce was watered down and lacked proper BBQ FLAVOR. Decor was ok bathroom was dirty. read more

Frito Pie is a must!!! The brisket used on it is so tender and extremely savory. Beans are great and aren't too sweet and don't take away from the brisket. Their sandwiches are great too, esically the new rib sandwich (you'll have to have two). If you're looking for ribs, they serve up the best in town; Smokey and tender! The sides are nice too; I'm not a fan of potato salad, but theirs keeps me coming back. Staff extremely friendly too. read more

I knew Larry (not "Cousin Larry" %Perfect Strangers TV sit-com series) during our years in school. Larry is as GENUINE and CARING as he has always been! Greeting me and all the visitors just like family, he made sure that ALL the parts of my order were perfect. The beef I enjoyed was not over-seasoned (like many BBQ houses) nor under-cooked. Went to lunch with my Dad. I haven't had BBQ ina while. It was great! The frito pie was unlike any type of pie I had ever had and I should have gotten it for the meal instead of the side! The BBQ sliced beef was tender, moist and perfectly done. The sauce went nicely, but the meat didn't really need it. The owner came out and said hi and checked on our meal. He was very laid back. It is a great place to eat, when Larry is there during the day, but try not to go at night; due to the horrible service provided by high schoolers. I really question if they could even spell "Quality Customer Service." It's probably not a good idea to hire friends of the family. Back on subject, the frito pie isn't bad or the chopped beef sandwich, but really--- maybe you should rethink everything and just make your own frito pie at home and save 10 dollars. The food was excellent and we were served plenty. Decoration was on point and I love that it's a family business where the mom and dad and sons cook, which were all kind and generous. Which is more, we come from New York and have been on a cross country road trip eating in every state from California to New York, and this has been one of the highlights.
