Really awesome burrito spot that is locally owned and was very busy in a Friday night which said it all. Lots different combinations of burritos and nachos which makes the experience completely custom. Got the chicken burrito with the jalapeño cheddar tortilla which hit the spot, With of course all my favorite toppings. Make sure you get the spicy ranch!! Will absolutely return and recommend.

Food is good. Staff are very nice. My only complaint is that when someone orders the nachos, they need to give a larger cheese cup (or two cups). They don't give nearly enough!

We went during lunch hour today - I introduced my kiddo who enjoyed the whole process of selecting her burrito ingredients etc. The staff were so speedy and helpful. And it's always such a lively atmosphere with positive vibes! The parking is always crazy at noon because you never know if the lack of parking is due to nearby restaurants or because you're gonna find a line out the door at Sharky's - today I expected the latter - but it wasn't - somewhat of a line but a fast one!

I would say this is the best burrito I've ever had in my life. The vibes of this joint are incredible as well the whole menu. Each filling is so fresh it's easy to build the best burrito. The service is always nice & friendly.

Driving thru Amarillo and looking for food. Almost went to McDs but spotted this and gave it a try. Fantastic ! The burrito gods were smiling upon me today. Steak burrito with grilled veggies in a jalapeño cheddar tortilla. Lots of great choices to add in. Can come as nachos or a salad. Baby baby. Do yourself a favor and stop. Great fresh salsa.

When in Amarillo, Sharkey's is the burrito place that you hear about the most. Our hotel concierge recommended this place to us and we decided to give it a try. There was a line on a Saturday night so there was a little wait. The staff was kind and masked and gloved up for COVID. I ordered the steak burrito with various Ingredients and it was pretty good. My husband ordered the chicken burrito and he thought it was meh. His words, "the chicken was a little flavorless." The chips were seasoned with a special salt that made them tasty to eat on their own. Although chips and queso is a combo that can't be beat. It's clear this place is a local favorite and is different from chipotle and free birds in its own way. For me, it wasn't better than Chipotle but definitely better than Freebirds.

Food was excellent! We were driving through Amarillo and stopped here - instead of the same old fast food. We will be back!

Does this restaurant have a drive thru?

Yes, but it's MUCH quicker if you call your order in ahead of time. They'll have it ready when you get there. If they're busy, they sometimes don't take drive up orders.

Visiting my girlfriend and her family in Amarillo led me to trying some of their favorite places in…read morethe city. My girlfriend's mom was especially excited to take me to El Tejaven while I was visiting. This dinner was a celebration of my girlfriend's sister playing in the top All-Region orchestra. It has nothing to do with the food itself, but I want to mention it because she did a great job performing and I think it deserves to be remembered here. It is the reason we went in the first place. It was a busy night at El Tejaven before we arrived. A group of 32 was just wrapping up dinner. Thirty two people. At that point, just cater, dawg. It took about 20 minutes after arrival to get seated, but it likely would have been much quicker if it were not for a group that size. Once we were seated, we were served chips and salsa. The salsa was spicier than I was prepared for, but it was good. The chips were excellent as well. Most people at the table ordered margaritas on the rocks, while I got a dressed Dos Equis on draft. From what I tasted, the margaritas were solid. For appetizers, we ordered the small queso and the small ceviche. The queso was standard but good. The ceviche, on the other hand, was exceptional. I could have eaten a large bowl by myself. I was pretty hungry, so I ordered the Orden de Tacos, which comes with four tacos on corn tortillas. I got all of them with al pastor. I also added a side of rice and beans, which normally comes with the three taco order but can be added on for the four tacos. The tacos were very good and exactly what you want from street style al pastor, especially with the cilantro and onions. It comes out to roughly four dollars per taco if you do the math. The rice and beans were both great and I ate all of it easily. The plate also came with a side of guacamole that had a nice kick, which I enjoyed. Living in Austin with family in San Antonio, it is easy to find good and authentic Mexican food. That does not always seem to be the case in Amarillo, so it is nice to know there is at least one spot in the city that feels authentic and not overly gringoified. My girlfriend's family knows ball. We were brought individual flights of salsa to go with the chips. My michelada hit the spot. Was it the best? No. But it scratched the itch. I couldn't decide on what to eat. Until I saw green chili stew and asado. I moved away from Midland in 2015. You don't really find asado away from West Texas. The music wasn't too loud and the lighting wasn't too bright or too dim. We ordered queso and they brought us a little cup because they were out and said they weren't going to charge us for it. We ordered our food and it took forever to get to our table and both of our dishes were cold. When I told her my food was cold, she took my plate and said I guess you want me to take this from you, asked my friend how her food was. My friend said OK but my tacos are cold and she said she'll comp her meal and then I was brought a ticket for just drinks. No offer to fix anything or get us hot food.
