I don't like to be a hater but I was very disappointed by this meal. I got the chicken burrito and it was super bland and also somehow extremely soggy? The concept is similar to Chipotle but in my opinion, chipotle beats them by 100x. I think they need spoons that have holes in them because my whole meal was dripping. We were passing through Amarillo with two kids under 10. Looking for a cheap, local, delicious spot. Absolutely found it here. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Ambiance was casual, and I wasn't worried about my kids disrupting the place. Portions are huge. Food is fresh and really tasty. Affordable prices. You could consider splitting the burritos, etc. awesome. I'm jealous that Amarillo gets to keep this place and we have to go on with similar but less tasty versions with qdoba and chipotle. I know this is a waste of time and my honest review will be buried somewhere in the algorithms. The food is ok but the way my 2 large burritos were made, caused me to just throw them away later. The guy making them would basically add another ingredient as I was ordering, and then smash it all flat with the palms of his hands like a kid playing in the Mud !! I paid $21 for a burrito and 15% tip. I used the drive through for my to go order. The man at the drive through gave poor customer service and didn't include napkins or plastic ware to eat my food. When in Amarillo, Sharkey's is the burrito place that you hear about the most. Our hotel concierge recommended this place to us and we decided to give it a try. There was a line on a Saturday night so there was a little wait. The staff was kind and masked and gloved up for COVID. I ordered the steak burrito with various Ingredients and it was pretty good. My husband ordered the chicken burrito and he thought it was meh. His words, "the chicken was a little flavorless." The chips were seasoned with a special salt that made them tasty to eat on their own. Although chips and queso is a combo that can't be beat. It's clear this place is a local favorite and is different from chipotle and free birds in its own way. For me, it wasn't better than Chipotle but definitely better than Freebirds. read more

What a convenient stop, close to the highway. This is like other "build your own" mexican food stops, but for some reason it is way better. The flavors are better, the options are wider, and they offer different sizes so you can pack on the meat! This place was it, the decor was great, the line was nearly out the door (though when noon hit, the line was out the door), and the service was impeccable. This was my first visit here and what looked almost like a Qdoba on the food prep line, was definitely not a Qdoba. The options here were more plentiful and tastier. I can easily recommend the carnita meat, it went well with my nachos and what really wowed me was the nearly whole jalapenos (ok, they were cut in thirds, long ways) and were a great bite when you got to those. Delicious! I had the steak with potatoes, pico, onions and queso and it tasted like a steak and loaded baked potato in burrito form. My boyfriend had the chicken with rice on the jalapeño cheddar tortilla and he loved it! I will say the medium heat salsa we got tasted a little watered down but was still good.
