I have been coming to Crazy Ottos for a couple of years now as they offer Veterans free coffee and a good breakfast. The owner is a truly outstanding man, and your waitress, Alexis is absolutely the best waitress that has ever served me. The food here great if there is a problem, it is handled immediately. My son lives in New Orleans now and whenever I tell him that we went to Crazy Otto's for breakfast (as we do twice a month), he says (jokingly), "I hate you!" It's a friendly, nice, warm place with good food at reasonable prices (always buy the half-size unless you want to take home several food boxes). The coffee is always great. read more

Great place especially for breakfast! I have breakfast here every Tuesday and my waitress is always Alexis (she is the best). My order is always on the spot and my coffee never goes empty. This restaurant is very accommodating for seating and the parking is okay. The portions on the food is extremely large. I always leave with a doggie bag so I do have an extra meal by the time I am done. The atmosphere is more on the fiftie's style, although it can be a bit more updated and remodeled. They are always crowded and still we never have to wait long. I still highly recommend this restaurant. I do know they have quite a few other locations. read more

Our family frequents this restaurant at least 6 x's a year, and noticed the food & staff have been going downhill. As a tradition, we go for Christmas breakfast with family & friends. There are not many restaurants open around here at that time. We go in, wait about 15 min. before being seated, which was fine, except that the staff was walking around, laughing & joking about some other customers that were seated. Thought that was kind of rude. We get to our table, the waitress comes and ask for our drink order. We got it 20 min later. We FINALLY get to order, that day, there was only 3 of us. Normally 15-20 people. I asked if the skins were on the green chiles, as the last time I got the Prime Rib sandwich, I was picking the chile skins out of my teeth. The waitress was not sure, so I asked for them on the side. She asked if I wanted hash browns for a $1. more, I declined. The party's other orders were given, simple chicken fried steaks & eggs, No changes. After about 45 min. we noticed the parties that came in 30 min AFTER we were seated were being served their food. Big parties in fact. We finally got our food, hash browns were on my plate. I told the waitress I did not order the HB, she said no worries, she wasn't charging me for them. I did not want the HB, like I told her previously. Anyways, I get the green chiles on the side, put 1/2 a spoonful in my mouth, chewed, spit them out, and picked the skins out as well. The skins were on the edge of the plate, spoon in the middle. I told her to go ahead and throw them away, and showed her the skins, and what was on the spoon. Instead of throwing them out, we watched in surprise as she took them back into the kitchen and handed them to the cook, who put them back in the container where he originally dished them out of. DISGUSTING! She then brings me a plate of the homemade chips, that were suppose to come with my sandwich, looked liked they came off someone elses plate, as there was food remains on them. GROSS! The rest of our orders came, the server was dripping gravy off the plate, onto the floor, table, and on my son's suit! No apologies at all! My son asked for some more napkins, so he could clean up the gravy, and she gave us a nasty look! Not sure what happened to this place, but we have come in on others non holiday services. Not sure if we will go back again. Time to search for other restaurants open on Christmas mornings! read more

A party of 5 had breakfast on Saturday Feb. 2nd. An egg order was wrong on another plate the hash browns were burn and on another were the eggs benedict that came in 10 - 15 minutes late. The eggs benedict looked discussing, could not eat it. The sliced ham or lunch meat was piled high and covered in their sauce. Looked like a plate of soup with something else inside. I do not recommend the eggs benedict. All other experiences and food has been outstanding at this and other locations. Had the manager handled herself better, I would have not bothered to write this review. read more

My Mom and I used to eat at Crazy Otto's at least twice a month. Now, it's maybe twice a year. The service used to be on point, but now we're left waiting for long periods of time waiting for refills, etc. It used to have that "home town feel", but it doesn't, anymore. The food is still good, but I've gotten sick the last two times I've eaten there. I just have so many good memories from the place that I will still stop in every once in a while. We have gone to Crazy Otto's on Ave "I" three or four times now. The first time was very good. I had the New York Steak, and it was very good. I have had their steaks since, and they were terrible, tough, gristly, and no taste. They must have changed their supplier. The prime rib isn't bad. The service is inconsistent, one of the waitresses is very good, and the other is not as attentive. They did have a halibut that wasn't bad, but they took it off the menu. They do give you a lot of food, be prepared to take home a doggy bag. The wine selection is very poor. read more

I honestly LOVE this place! I have only been here a handful of times but every time the staff is genuinely friendly and the food is delicious and so much of it! The food is always served in a timely manner. The only issue I ever had was this last time I went I asked for sausage on the side and my boyfriend asked for extra mayonnaise she added it to our order although we didn't get it. I wasn't too upset because I overheard them say how insanely busy it was earlier and I myself work in customer service so I know sometimes things just happen. Horrible experience. Husband's hash browns were raw in center. Told waitress (Dasha) and she said she'd get more. 15 minutes later, they finally came. By that time I was done with my meal and my husband's meal was cold. He told her to take everything away. She brought us a $5 discount card for our next visit and a bill for both meals! My husband questioned her and she stated that he ate part of the meal (one egg, one piece of toast, one slice of bacon) so he said to figure out what he owed based on what he ate. She said he could order another meal to go (as if sitting in the fridge overnight would make for an appetizing lunch). He told her he would not pay for a meal he couldn't eat and she could call the cops if she wanted. She did! The sheriff's arrived and explained if we didn't pay the entire bill, my husband would be taken to jail for "defrauding an innkeeper". In the end, we walked out with two pieces of cake which we paid for. Also, my husband asked her if she ever actually contacted her boss (Jin) and she said no, it was her decision. Disappointing!!!!! This was our first visit and our last. We were fortunate that we didn't get sick.I ordered the Chicken & Stuff. The chicken breast was thin and over-cooked. It was dry and hard, so much so that even my knife had difficulty cutting through. It was evident that the vegetable mix was old with a bit of fresh tossed in. Some of the broccoli was gray while other pieces were green. We pointed this out to the waitress. She returned from the kitchen and relayed that the cook said that he just overcooked it. Horrible meal accompanied with a huge LIE. The vegetables were also swimming in cooking oil. The fries were served cold. My husband had the Chicken Fried Steak. He enjoyed the taste of the breading and the gravy. He did not like that it was served on bread as a plate filler. The BF took me to Crazy Otto's last Saturday for breakfast. The place was packed and busy but we only waited about five minutes. Jeff pointed out the photo of the world's largest omelette that got Otto's into Guiness'. The decor was typical out-in-the-middle-of-the-desert-diner chic. The waiter overheard Jeff explaining to me about how the original Otto's was right next to the RR tracks and Otto would spin a wheel and give out a free meal whenever the train came by. He asked if I wanted to hear the train and sure enough, after a few minutes, a train was heard whistling and rattling by, the wheel was spun and someone got a free meal! Fun! We both ordered pancake combos - I got sausage and Jeff got ham. Jeff should have told me how big the pancakes were because when our food showed up, the pancakes were a foot in diameter and there were three of them! The sausage patty was also huge. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about when he said they used fake eggs because mine were real and cooked perfectly over hard the way I like 'em. Jeff likes his basted and one of them wasn't done right - the waiter said he already had an order in for a replacement. We each ate about a quarter of our pancakes and were stuffed. Our family has been a Crazy Otto's fan since they were on Sierra Hwy. We love the one on 20th - food good and service staff great. This Crazy Otto's on I - food left a lot to be desired. The hasbrown's were burndt and my husband's breakfast came when we were all done. The manager was full of excuses but no apologies and the server could care less. We will not be back to the Crazy Otto's on Avenue I. I think we would have gotten better service and food at any fast food place. read more

I can't see what all the fuss is about. The first time I ate breakfast at Otto's, about 7 or 8 years ago, I couldn't believe how good it was and that I had not been sooner. Since then, however, it has been a steady decline to the point where I just opt out when people want to meet there on a Sunday (some of our friends are die-hard Otto's patrons). Today after waiting for our food for over 30 minutes. I discover the strawberries that topped my French toast are rotten. I tell the waitress who says she will "take care of it." My check comes and the only thing off of my bill is the strawberries! I ask to speak with the manager,Wendy, who when I asked why I was still being charged for the French toast says "well we took off the strawberries but you need to pay for the rest of the food. Why wouldn't I charge you for the French toast? Only the strawberries were bad" I explained that I wasn't paying for food that was topped with rotten fruit she says "what do you want now? Crazy Otto's in Acton is my go-to spot. ALWAYS top quality and huge servings. Decided to try the old Ave. I location because I was in the area. Ordered the pastrami melt sandwich for lunch. WORST sandwich I have ever had at a restaurant, with the stingiest proportions. Could not find the cheese, and only two slices of pastrami on small pieces of bread with too much mustard. I was in a hurry and hungry, so just put the meat from one half onto the other half. Still could barely taste the pastrami. Onion rings were a $1.75 upgrade, and they were out of a box. SO disappointing. Could have eaten at the local buffet and eaten like a king for half what I paid. Not going back to that location, ever. read more

This place is absolutely delicious, make sure you come hungry because they give you tons if food. I usually come here every other Sunday and the service gets better and better each time I come. Today there was no wait our friendly waitress came and got our drinks along with our food and the whole time we were there about 4 other waitresses stopped by and asked if we needed anything. The only bad thin I could stay is don't let the old waitress serve you because she is horrific. One time we waited for our food for like an hour and when she brought the food it was cold so we told her and she told us that she could microwave it!!!
