Great seafood boils! Best around. Stick with that , as the other items on the menu are not as great. Soup, and salad and appetizers are only OK. The desserts tasted like the refrigerator... so stick with the boils. The sauses are incredible, if you enjoy spicy food. Not a good first impression. I have always wanted to stop in and get something here. I hope I just chose the wrong item. I placed an online order for the Fried Catfish Basket. I also chose their Cajun Fries as a side. The meal was 13.50 + 1.00 fee for online order. The wait was only 20 minutes and i believe it was ready in 15. My first experience with the place was walking in the door to a person standing behind a huge plexiglass barrier that had no place to speak through. I spoke to the the person through the plexiglass and told them I was there to pick up my order which they promptly stepped to the side of the plexiglass and retrieved. I paid for my order, again stepping to the side of the plexiglass. As I was leaving I asked the person if they had any gluten-free options available. The answer was "I don't think so". Side note: All personnel working at a restaurant should be familiar with what types of allergies their establishment can accommodate. Anyway, I thanked them and left. I arrived home and opened my meal and found a huge box of fries and 4 small pieces of fish (see picture). While I like fries and was looking forward to trying their "Cajun" fries, I believe it would have been more appealing with half the amount in a smaller container. It would have made the fish look much bigger. Quality of food: Well, again, this wasn't very impressive. The fries were soggy and had no flavor, "Cajun" they weren't. The fish was lightly battered (good) and very well cooked (good) and was probably catfish too, but the flavor was not of any catfish I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Catfish is one of those flavors most people don't really ever experience. It is a flavor that is rather unique, as fish goes. I probably had my hopes up that I would get the same catfish I was used to eating in the South. If you are a catfish eater, you will probably be disappointed. Probably will not be back. Went there last night. Ordered lobster and other seafood. The lobsters and snow crab are not fresh to the point of the meat are bubble like. When the waitress ask if everything is ok, we said yes to be polite but she kinda laugh. I don't know if she knows. They give discount for lobster, making it $8.88 when u buy more but with the condition of the lobster. The rudest bartender! The place closes at midnight and she so rudely turns on the lights plus the flashing lights over our table to kick us out. There obviously was an issue with someone that just came in to our party. Mind you, there were only 5 people there in the bar side. As soon as our 2 friends came in, the lights including the flashing ones over our table were on like it was the last call. Then rudely closed out a friend's tab and put her bill on the table. I went on the website to see what time they closed since it was quite early, only the kitchen was closing in 15 mins. So a fun night out with great music and a friendly DJ, turned out to be awkward. Went on an awesome first date. Deyja was an awesome waitress. Funny attentive, if she didnt know an answer she got it quickly. Food was awesome. Course everything tastes better with good company and someone else feeding you. But the place is nice. The food is a LOT. Like go hungry and with a full wallet! It ain't cheap, but then again its seafood... We arent dessert people but brought tiramisu and cheesecake home for my kids and they loved them. I've never been there but went there last week. It was totally not what I had expected. It was much better. I'm not much on spicy food but everything I ordered they made to my expectations and it was all perfect. I don't remember what it was I ordered but I got a lobster tail, corn on the cob and potatoes plate all served on linguine pasta. It was amazing. I stopped coming here and couldn't remember why, so I came back. The food was okay, I love seafood especially seafood boils but this time it just wasn't doing it for both my friend and I. We got the West Springfield Combo and both of our corn was rotten to the taste. My friend expressed having diarrhea within 20 minutes of leaving. I am up now at 1:52 am dealing with the same for the past 30 minutes. I don't think this is common but it happened to us. Most likely not going to return. My fiance and I drove up here from Buffalo NY. We are getting married in Salem next month and had driven 8 hours there to get our marriage license, then drove two hours back to our hotel in Springfield (staying here because it's cheaper and we wanted to be near Six Flags). I love seafood and saw this place was right down the road. Decided to get takeout last night. We don't buy seafood very often because it's expensive and we are on a tight budget, but I decided to spoil myself for a night since we are on vacation. I made an online order, 1/2 pound snow crab, 1/2 pound dungeness crab and crab crackers and a fork. My fiance picks up the order and brings it to the hotel room for me. I opened the bag and immediately could tell there was no dungeness crab (snow and dungeness look very different from each other). Normally I would just take the hit when it comes to food mistakes, but this wasn't just a few bucks. The dungeness was $17.95. My fiance calls the restaurant to explain that the dungeness crab was missing, the girl on the phone talks to someone and comes back asking my fiance to take a picture of the order (first res flag they think we are lying). He sends the picture and we wait a long pause until she finally comes back and tells us they will give us a call the next day because "the kitchen manager needs to speak with the general manager first". We are very non confrontational people and have worked food service, we understand how much it sucks and how rude people can be so we tried to give the benefit of the doubt. My fiance questioned the fact they are telling us we will get a call back the next day, then says "alright, I look forward to getting a call from them" because he didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Mind you no one has given us an apology or offered to give us the food we were missing that night, as they were still open when he called. The next day rolls around and we head out toward Boston to go to a zoo. We wait for a bit, then 4pm comes and I said we better call them because at this point I have a feeling they aren't actually going to call us. So he calls the restaurant. Explains what happened the night before and what the girl said to us. The first person on the phone says there is no general manager in, then a few seconds later wouldn't you know, a manager gets on the phone. They give us the run around again, telling us "the manager and kitchen manager both confirmed the food was all there" basically insinuating we are liars. I had a feeling that was going to happen because of the response the night before. At this point we are both very upset. We've been patient and kind and no one is apologizing or trying to amend the situation. Instead they would rather rope us in with people that try to scam them. Why would we go through all this stress if we were lying? They say they will make us the food or give us a refund, but we need to come into the restaurant. So we leave the zoo, get stuck in horrible traffic and it takes three hours to get back here. We go straight to the restaurant, explaining our situation AGAIN and a bunch of employees come up to the counter, some of them are giving us dirty looks like we are scumbags or something. One waitress tries to help us out, she was very kind and the only person to actually apologize to us. She calls the manager and they again try to argue that the general manager and kitchen manager verified our food was all there. Funny they want to treat us like liars when they clearly are either lying that they actually checked it, or accidentally put the dungeness crab in someone else's order and won't own up to it. They tell the waitress to give us a gift card. We've told multiple people multiple times now we are not from here and live hours away. What use is a gift card if we can't come back? So the waitress calls the manager again. This time they say to write our credit card info down on some paper and they will "call us back tomorrow and issue a refund". I'm like no that's not happening. We've been back and forth for almost a day now, wasting time we are supposed to be enjoying vacation. Why would someone want to write down personal credit card info for one thing, when that could easily allow someone to steal it, and why would we trust a phone call when every interaction has been the same thing - avoid actually refunding or apologizing and insinuate we are liars and trying to steal. I didn't even ask for a full refund, I just wanted the money back for the dungeness that I didn't receive. So the waitress calls them again. She comes back with cash and apologizes to us. Honestly I don't know if the business actually refunded us, or if she felt bad and gave us her tip money (we are worried that is the case). I understand it's "he said she said" and people do try to pull fast ones, but after all this you would think they would get we are being honest. Exterior isn't the nicest, but the staff greeted us nicely when we walked in and it's much nicer in the interior. The food was great and the combos are a good deal. Inside is very clean and service and food was fast. Will come back when in the area. At first, I was skeptical to come here because of being rated 3.5 stars. This was our first time visiting. The restaurant has a fun, bright beachy decor and good lighting. The sanitary precautions were fine- mask requirements, limited seating inside, tables spaced well apart and the staff cleaned each table between seating. The food is excellent! The clam chowder alone is worth the trip. The shrimp was yummy, onion rings crispy and not at all greasy. Since it is pricey this can be no more than a once a month visit. 2nd time around was not as good. Both times i ordered West Springfield Combo -A half-pound of snow crab, and a pound of gulf shrimp. Comes with corn, potato, and chicken sausage. the corn on cob was flavorless and dried out. You could see the wrinkles in the kernels. Ended up tossing it out. It was not close enough to take it back to the restaurant. There was only one potato in it. When i say one I should one quarter of a small potato. The chicken sausage, not even sure what it tasted like, but not flavorful at all. You can't beat crab legs and shrimp in the spicy sauce so thank god for that. I did order the clam chowder both times and it was really good. I have no doubt they can cook a serious seafood feast. Their problem is consistency. Same quality, and order accuracy every time is the aim. It will be awhile before i go back. At $50 a visit for one person I need to choose wisely. read more

I've ordered through Doordash about 4/5 times but never dined in. I feel like it is hit or miss with them. One time it's good, the next time it isn't, and so on. Today I ordered 1IB of Snow Crab legs and added on the lobster tail. Grand total of $55. The crab legs did not taste fresh nor did the lobster tail. NEVER in my life had I had a lobster tail so bad. It literally was overcooked, not fresh, and oddly tasted like chicken!! Seriously I am more upset about the lobster tail than the freezer burnt tasteless crab legs. I'm a seafood junkie and this will be my last order. So unfortunate because they are so close by. read more
