The worst service I've ever experienced! My husband and I came in before catching a movie. When we walked in the door and stood at the hostess stand she did not even look up to greet us. We had to get her attention and she told us to get our own menus and sit at the sushi bar. We sat and sat and finally an ungroomed blonde came up to us visibly irritated. We asked for a few drinks and noticed a couple seats became available more towards the middle of the bar (we were tucked in the far corner and couldn't see the sushi chefs make the rolls, which is the whole point of sitting at the sushi bar). My husband asked the waitress to clean the area and she told us to ask someone else. So he asked somebody else they looked confused and dumbfounded. As they were cleaning the spot somebody else sat there and the waitress just looked as us and back at the other people. By this time our annoyance with the staff is increasing minute by minute, debating whether to walk out or wait it out. As we were standing up to walk out the waitress finally cane over to take our order. She got the order wrong and tried to tell us that we were wrong and the food that came was what we ordered. Finally and very hesitantly she took the food to the chef and the chef did a hand movement towards her for her to leave as if ge didn't care or plan to fix it. This was all done very openly over the sushi bar and other patrons shoulders. Very unprofessional. We also ordered three rolls and only two came out, but by that time we needed to leave for our movie and the whole issue was a huge debate between us and the sushi chef and the waitress. The sushi chef claimed we had gotten three rolls already and made us give him our plate to inspect the evidence. Then demanded the ticket from the waitress who was at the other end of the sushi bar. We decided against the third roll and wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. We waited for our check and it never came, no refills, no customer service, no smiling allowed. So my husband decided to walk up to the hostess stand where three people were standing there doing something more important than helping us. my husband asked for the check and it turned into a debate with the sushi chef again on whether or not we had eaten the third roll. he inturpted them pulled out his card and said he just wanted to pay and get out if there. he told them how uncomfortable this experience was for us and they did not even care. horrible horrible horrible horrible service. will never ever come here again. would have rather eaten some supermarket sushi and sat in my car. if i could i would give it 0 stars. the only thing crazy about this place is that they are still in business. i give it 2 months!! read more

I had no wait, and if i'm not mistakened, one of the servers named Azy or Ary was wonderful. She was of big help and she suggested some good sushi that I should try. The sushi was amazing. Don't do it! No host/hostess present when you walk in to greet or seat you. We went there at 6:00 on a Saturday night and there were only 2 tables filled in the whole restaurant. First red flag! We waited at least 5 minutes before being greeted and were just about to walk out. I had a view of the kitchen, which had garbage all over the floor. When our miso soup arrived, it was cold. When I bit into the tempura shrimp, I noticed it was not cleaned. Ewwww!!! The rolls were nasty tasting and not fresh at all. They seemed very understaffed and didn't come back to check on us or bring us our bill until we asked for it. We saw many people come in and wait for someone to greet them, and walked right out when no one did. When my husband and I expressed our concerns to the waiter, he seemed completely unfazed! His response was "Oh" I don't think there was any management present. What a huge disappointment. We've eaten here several times over the years since it opened and the quality and service has drastically declined. At this rate, I doubt they'll be around much longer. read more

We tried Crazy Sushi 2 times. 1st time the food was good & the service was just ok & they weren't busy at all. The 2nd & last time we ordered 4 rolls & they brought out 2. We just figured they would bring out the other 2 as we we were eating. As we were finishing we asked about the other 2 & was told they would be out in a minute. We asked a couple people, a couple more times over the next 15-20 min. & kept getting the answer that it would be coming up. After 30 min. (after we finished) We received 1 roll & the check. I asked again about the other roll & to discount because of the poor service & she said the roll would be up shortly & she couldn't discount. I told her i didnt want the other roll now & at this point I asked to speak to a manager & she just walked off. A manager never came over. My dining experience was horrible. I had planned on having a nice dinner out w/my wife & that was ruined. Instead I left angry, hungry & with 1 roll to go. They didn't care at all. I paid for what I received & left. I will never go back to this place & I would recommend some place else if you are looking for sushi. read more

This place is the definition of CRAP!!! Went to Crazy Sushi last weekend during the lunch hour and noticed only 2 other tables had patrons. After waiting for 15 minutes, our waitress came by and took our drink orders, we had 3 waters....15 min go by, we then get our waters. We ordered 4 rolls, 1 child's Bento Box, 1 order of pot stickers and 2 miso soups...pretty decent sized order right??? It started to go even further down hill when we waited 30 minutes just for the miso soup and pot stickers...c'mon really??? There were only 8 other customers in the restaurant, why would getting miso soup and pot stickers take so long??? When we recieved the remainder of our order, the waitress didn't know which roll was which and had to guess. ALL the food had absolutely NO FLAVOR!!!! Down to the soy sauce!!!! My husband and I each took 2 bites of our rolls and couldn't bear to finish. Spend your money at Arigato, Mikuni's or Blue Nami...THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!! read more

This place definitely looks cool on the inside. The food is mediocre. Came to hang out with my airforce buddies who I don't get to see often cause they get deployed (i'm not in the airforce). We stayed half an hour over after they closed and they didn't charge us the auto large party gratuity other places do. Definitely a plus and earned them the fourth star. However, I advise you not to order the ramen. I'm pretty sure it was a packet of shin ramyu ramen because I've had a lot of those. Those ramen aren't vegan or vegetarian so beware when you order. Great sushi horrible service. Owners please address this!!! Read all the complaints on yelp of the crappy service! Waited up front for 4 minutes before someone came up to greet/seat us. Then my husband had his rolls and I didn't get mine. Instead it was on the counter for 8 minutes before someone brought it over and it wasn't our waitress Ashlee. She never checked on us. Horrible food. The décor is pleasant, but don't let it fool you--the food was completely unacceptable. I ordered some rolls and an order of Saba Nigiri. The Lemon Salmon Roll had so much sauce that the lemon couldn't be detected, and the salmon didn't taste fresh. The Rock 'n Roll was pitiful in size and structure, plus the eel was filled with long bones that kept poking me in the throat with every bite. The worst item? The Saba Nigiri. The Saba had gone bad and felt like stiff, fish jerky instead of a freshly cut piece of Mackerel. They should be embarrassed to serve something like that. I will not eat here again. read more

Have been going to Rocklin Crazy Sushi since they opened after being long time regulars at the Sacramento location. Despite the bas service we continued to come back based on our loyalty of the Sac location. But after last night I won't be back to either again. Places a to go order which took over 45 minutes. While waiting I got to watch the sushi chef argue with the hostess and bad talk customers. While amusing, this display is why you see the trend of terrible service with this location. To top it off the meals we ordered has no flavor and were terrible. With a sushi joint on every street in this area it is easy to find a new spot. Will not be back to either Rocklin or Sacramento again based on service and food quality. read more

I went there for lunch the other day. I walked in and there were only 3 others in the restaurant. I read the menu and ordered. 25 minutes later, no food and then the waitress drops the check off. I said "don't you usually bring the check AFTER I have ate?" She said "Didnt you get your food?" I said to her (pointing at my empty table) "Does it look like I got my order?" People who waled in 5-10 minutes after me got their orders. After about another 5 minutes, I just walked out. I was there a few months earlier and got crappy service. Very disappointed i so many ways. Look, I am not a snob, but there are a few things you should get right, especially when charging about the same if not more than other good sushi restaurants in the area. The first thing my wife and I noticed is the splinters we were taking out of our fingers from the cheap chop sticks. This is the only place I've seen such cheap chop sticks used. Usually they are the thicker heaver plastic kind or heavy wood of good quality. Next up.. it was not that busy.. we went when 107.9 was in the house, and there were about 25% seats still available, on a Friday night. Granted it's brand new, so it may take a while to get the word out that there is a Sushi place near by now. But anyway, after almost an hour of waiting for our sushi the waitress we had didn't say anything. Never offered to fill up our drinks (water mind you although my wife did have a beer). We finally asked and were told "Sorry, it's very busy". We looked around again, and were wondering what she meant.. but I tried to chalk it up to being new and they are learning the ropes of handling a 75% crowd or so. Maybe with 107.9 in the house they were worried about review so were trying to accommodate them for a good radio review? So finally.. the food arrives. It looked decent.. I've seen better presentation but honestly I don't care if the food is amazing. Sadly.. that wasn't the case. As several others have reported here, the rice just falls apart. I had to really work hard to hold a piece together, even doubly so because of the cheap chop sticks that I thought would break under the pressure. The bottom line is, they are using the wrong rice. It's not the sticky kind everyone else uses.. in fact as I was eating a couple pieces and hadn't spoken to my wife yet about my "concern".. she then points out to me how the rice is falling apart. I looked in my plate of wasabi/soy sauce and noticed it was mostly rice. What makes this worse is the taste of the rice ruins the sushi flavor. I mean, as I said..I am not a snob, I could live with a bit of rice falling apart and having to apply surgical pressure to try to make it to my mouth without some of it landing in my lap.. but the use of the wrong rice makes it not taste so good either. It's not horrible.. just not good. As someone else said, it's reminiscent of Safeway or store bought sushi. I asked our waitress if they ran out of sticky rice cause it was so busy. She smiled and walked away. The manage came over who I don't think understood much English.. we told her the rice was the wrong kind.. she ran off with our bill to give us a discount. I didn't want a discount. I wanted her to maybe suggest to whoever to use the right rice so that we could have a good sushi place near by! Oh..and better chop sticks! And for God's sake, fill up my water glass.. just cause I didn't spend $3 on a soda or drink.. doesn't mean I don't want my water filled up when it's empty. Sorry.. I am very picky about filling up drinks.. you want a tip, make sure I am happy. Bottom line, we won't be going back unless a friend tells us they have good rice and better chop sticks. The environment does look nice though, plenty of TVs around, kind of loud, tables are close. But Blue Nami is still the best around here, and the one by the UA 12 theater. read more

This was our 2nd time to this location and we love the decor and look of the place but the last time we went here the service was so horrible that we didn't go back for a while. So we decided to give it another try and I checked out yelp before going and read about the bad service but gotta give them a chance, right? Well after being greeted by the manager I could tell who they were talking about, she had a look about her. Our server was fine, we all ordered chicken teriyaki bento boxes and the soup and salad were very good but the chicken was really raw so we sent it back only to get the same cut up chicken that was put in a frying pan to re-cook and served on the same contaminated dirty plate. The chicken was totally rubbery and was sitting on the same place the raw chicken was. What place does that??? Shouldn't you get a new plate and new chicken, you can't re-cook grilled chicken in a frying pan. The meat just didn't taste right so our server said she would talk to her manager and give us 1/2 off which seemed reasonable since we ate the salad, goyza, and soup. Nobody ate the chicken not even my husband and he eats anything. When our check arrived she gave us $3 off our total bill, really??? Needless to say we will never be returning to eat there. Went in to order to-go, since they do not have an online menu yet. And found out when I went in, that they do not have to-go menus either. Not sure why that is, maybe some delay in the process, but as a business owner, those were the 2 first thing you need to make sure that have been accomplished before opening your doors for business. Anyhow, I ordered from their half-off menu, waited 20-25 minutes for the food. Got home, found out that they did not give me a copy of my receipt. And the food was just ok, and the presentation was ok. Both the taste and presentation looked like sushi's you've bought off a grocery store, like Safeway and Trader Joes. Now, coming home without their to-go menu is fine, since I will not be coming back there. Blue-nami is still on the top of my list, even though the drive there is a little bit further from where I live. read more

Love this place! Been here for several birthday celebrations and they never fail to impress. They are quick to keep the orders coming, the fish is fresh, the menu is unique and extensive and they always throw in extras. Overall one of the worst dining experiences we've had in Roseville/Rocklin. Service Wife and I arrived and when seated dining room was empty except for one other table. My wife has celiac disease so she can't have gluten and asked a few questions about the menu and possibly altering rolls to avoid fried items or imitation crab (contains wheat as filler). Waitress told us all their menu listed crab was in fact imitation (a huge pet peeve of mine, don't call it crab if its not) and she would not alter any menu items to meet food allergies, we just had to choose something else. Problem is, almost every roll here is deep fried. Wouldn't even exchange DF shrimp with non fried. I understand if an item can't be adjusted to meet an allergy need but at least try and help to identify an alternative. Wife inquired about what marble soda was, waitress entire description was "it's Japanese marble soda". So wife asked about their creamy soda, waitress's reply was "it's like normal soda only creamier...". It was obvious the waitress didn't want to be there and that we were inconveniencing her. So my wife orders some simple shrimp nigiri and what comes on the plate with it, fried shrimp heads as a garnish...cross contamination!! Food This was by far the most disappointing part of our experience. We've had sushi all over Sacramento and the Bay Area and this was by far the worst. Ordered scallop, tako nigiri and a Saint Johnny's roll (spicy tuna, unagi and avocado with masago). All fish was obviously frozen. Every sushi item was bland and flavorless. Tako was freezer burned and completely dry, not something you want from octopus. Was like chewing jerky. In the Johnny roll, the spicy tuna was chopped so finely it became the texture of baby food, completely mush. The lack of flavor and dryness were clearly signs of frozen, non fresh product. Sushi restaurants should be judged based on the quality of their fish product and the delicate manner by which the chef handles and prepares said product. Needless to say, they failed in both areas and we won't ever be going back. Really disappointed, we were really hoping for another good sushi spot around here. read more

My husband and I enjoyed a FANTASTIC dinner there last night. The place was packed from the time we came in until the time we left. The food was amazing including the rice. The service was extremely good! Having worked in restaurants, you can tell when people start looking around; trying to make eye contact with the staff, there's a problem. I never once saw any of that behavior during our two hour dinning experience; everyone was enjoying their food, family and friends. Environment is a bit like the cafe/lounge so I did not expect to have really traditional Japanese food. Menu with quite a number of choices ranges from Nigiri , sushi rice, sashimi, rolls to undo etc. Staffs are nice. But I will not come back because the food is a bit disappointing. I ordered Ika nigiri. Waitress confirmed me that they have Ika but then later the chef came and told me there is no Ika so they will change giant clam which I am fine with. However, I was really wondering what the clam had been stored as I know the texture of giant clams. Also I ordered the Zaru Soba. There is no quail egg as normal soba will be serving. Also the dipping sauce is serving with a bowl instead of cup. So it is very easy to get sauce wave hitting the staff's finger when serving. But I am still fine until I really taste the sauce. I know how to make soba and it definitely with tooooooo much soy sauce inside. Also don't assume the foods looks the same as the pictures. read more

I really tried liking this place but I can't. Don't get me wrong, I've been there three times and it doesn't get better, its like they are stuck in mediocre land. The first time we were there, the service was ok, the sushi was ok but we found out that their rolls was 1/2 off, for the price it wasn't bad, but since it was there first week being open, the staff was a little confused. About two months later, some friends wanted sushi and we took them to Crazy Sushi figuring that they probably got their act together. Food was the same but the service was the same, wasn't great, wasn't bad. We haven't been back for about 7 months when we decided to go see a movie at Blue Oaks 16, figuring that we had 45minutes before the movie, my wife and I decided to just order APPETIZERS only for a quick in and out, plus they got Yakatori, which is a simple protein on a stick that's grill, should be simple and quick. There was only one table before us and 3 tables after us, we were the 2nd table to order. The two girls working there seems like two chicken heads, just running around busy but not getting much done. Our waitress brought us our water, we asked her to take our order because we were in a rush. Well, I am guessing appetizers are cheap and they don't make much money because EVERYONE in the restaurants got their rolls while we were still dining on water. I called my waitress over and said its been 40 minutes, we haven't got a single dish while everyone around us is eating, I told her to pack up my order to go because we were out of time. I am really rooting for this restaurant to succeed but they just keep disappointing me every time I go in there. read more

Lousy menu - with exception to a veggie roll with carrots and some other vegetarian stuff in it, every single roll on the menu has avocado, cucumber, and/or deep fried shrimp in it. I've been to several sushi restaurants and can honestly say that the majority of them off real variety, offering several rolls with the primary ingredients being RAW FISH and not a bunch of California-ized junk. After thoroughly looking over the menu, my girlfriend and I left without ordering anything. read more

Crazy Sushi is just alright. I had Mikunis in the fountains a few weeks ago and was very impressed. I was able to taste the difference. I have never had problem with the service at crazy sushi, probably because its slow when I am there. I have gone a few times where it seemed to take forever for my drinks to get refilled. I found this unacceptable because, like I said earlier, whenever i'm there it is not busy. I only continue to go there because the location is right by my house. read more

I've been to this place half a dozen times now for both lunch and dinner service. The food is average compared to other sushi places in the Roseville/Rocklin area, along with the prices. What keeps me from returning often is the service. Simply put: the servers are rude! They need some training in polite, accommodating customer service. To be fair, I notice this problem at many Sushi, Thai and Chinese places, but Crazy Sushi has particularly Crazy rude servers. read more

Don't ever come here on Sunday afternoon. They apparently only have 1 server and 1 cook. We been sitting for 40 minutes and have not gotten serve water. My mom visited and recommended the place as she had been to the one in Elk Grove. The wife, my mom and I packed our 6 year old and found the place accommodating. It definitely had an ambitious decor. Very contemporary, flashy, dark, slightly cozy (small), with flat screens all around. After a lengthy wait to order the staff was attentive. Lots to choose from on the menu. My son had eaten otherwise he would have had a choice of a single kids meal ($8.50). We ordered from the 50% off portion of the menu which was well stocked. I thought my roll, the Half and Half, and the wife's roll, the Red Dragon to be yummy. My mom was not so excited with her Spicy Crab?. Not sure of the name of that roll but it is the one that has fried soft shell crab. She thought that it was unlike the roll she had ordered from the same restaurant in Elk Grove. The flavor of the roll was good and gave a satisfying crunch from the fried crab shell but the color of the crab was a drabish yellow, not the red that you associate with the dish. My mom brought this up with the waitress but was unable to find satisfaction. Overall a decent menu. Between us all, with 2 Sapporo's it came out to $55.00. read more

Love this place!!! I eat here at least once a week. The staff is AWESOME!!! I'm greeted with a "fist bump" from the chefs each time and the servers/waitresses are very welcoming. Ashlee remembers me everytime I come in. The portions are great for big appetites and the "Half Off" on rolls really justifies having sushi every week. Not a Sushi place around I would recommend to anyone other than Crazy Sushi in Rocklin! read more

I've never done a review probably because I didn't think it was necessary, but We had dinner at crazy sushi this evening (12/30/15) even though we've read the poor service reviews ( this is why we've stayed away), well the reviews did not disappoint!!! The service was horrible but the food was great. The server never cleared a plate, basically tossed the new food plate at us, apparently the restaurant was out of several items, but she was never aware of this when asked and I was told when trying to pay the bill " I'm off, so we'll I guess I can do it", really!!! The food itself was ok, I am glad most of their sushi is 50% because I would have had a hard time justifying paying that much money for the quality of food we got. However, I feel like they should be shut down by health department. Evert single dishware I and my friends received were dirty. Not like the chef got sauce on the side of the plate dirty, like old food that had been caked on the plates dirty. So we had to ask for new plates and food multiple times till the staff got the hint. It also looked like their furniture and dishware's were bought from a garage sale because the chairs were falling apart and nothing matched (including the tables).
