We had a wonderful breakfast/brunch here on a busy Sunday morning. We were given a 25-30 minute time frame for a table, which they definitely beat. The little puffy donuts they give you when you sit down are delightful and a different touch. We had the Nutella crepes, pancakes, eggs and bacon. This is all pretty standard stuff of course, but all executed very well and blindingly fast. One small criticism was the distribution of Nutella on the crepes - it seemed like there was too much at first, but we believe its because the crepes were folded and then Nutella and fruit were added. It might be a nice touch to spread some of the Nutella on the crepes before folding? Either way, the flavors were nice, fruit seemed fresh and the crepes were well made - not paper thin and also not doughy. Service was super friendly and welcoming. read more

Always a favorite spot for a breakfast or lunch. We picked up a family member from the airport so we decided on HONEY BUTTER CAFE. The ambiance is chill and the restaurant is always busy. There was a short wait time. Not too bad. What a treat! We ordered the Biscoff Loukoumades, but this time we didn't get the complimentary order. We then ordered all water and one coffee. Later ordered a Honey Blossom which we never received. Our entrees were the Pork Belly Skillet worth Berry Mascarpone Pancakes (less cream and loaded with fruit), a Texas Burger with fries and a Gyro Panni. Usually we are thrilled and the food is great, today they really enjoyed their meals but something tasted off with the pork belly skillet. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was quick, and our food came out fresh and beautifully presented. I love breakfast & diner food! Today we tried @honeybutter.cafe in Franklin and we were not disappointed! I had the Greek omelette and my husband had the protein lovers omelette. We got both with hashbrowns but I got pancakes while he got toast. My omelette has great flavor with all the tzatziki and feta on top. But the pancakes were literally perfect. I've been to Honey Butter Café a few times, and the reason that I went back was for their delicious complementary honey butter rolls, and decent food...NEVER AGAIN. We decided to go during weekend brunch, it was so incredibly busy and loud, but we decided to stay for cocktails and a meal. We ordered the seasonal special, they asked how we wanted our eggs, and fiancé said poached and I said over easy. His egg came out HARDER THAN A HARD BOILED EGG. After our server checked on multiple of the people eating near us, she did not ask us if we needed anything, and I had to flag someone else down to calmly ask to make a new poached egg. 15 minutes later, they brought out a completely undercooked egg that was in a bowl with more water and uncooked whites than cooked bits - it was disgusting. I had to flag someone down again to complain, because they thought that that was an acceptable thing to serve, even though my fiancé's food that he was waiting to eat for a runny egg was entirely cold by this point. After this woman server called me a curse word in Spanish, very close to where I was sitting, I complained to the manager, and they took the meal off of our tab. They also hadn't even given us the honey buns at any point, even though they are complimentary, we had ordered cocktails and food, and everyone else around us got them without ordering. Very confused by these choices. The manager and bartender and other staff apologized for this one woman's behavior but I won't be back. We ate here while in town from Florida and it never disappoints. The loukomans, (4 for two of us) are a special treat before ordering. My wife and I ordered a cali omelet (4 egg) with avocdo on tope, with hash browns, toast and a side of sausage patties. S'mores Brioche French Toast: Honey Butter Café is a delightful café that offers a wide range of breakfast and lunch options made using fresh ingredients from right here in Wisconsin for a true farm-to-table experience. Their specialty is Loukoumades (Honey Puffs) and organic coffee. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in MKE, so I chose to come here with my family for my birthday breakfast. During our visit all staff were friendly, and our food came super quick. Our waiter Jason did a nice job of being attentive but not overbearing. My go to is their S'mores French Toast. The decadent dish consists of graham cracker crusted brioche bread stuffed with Nutella and topped with an army of mini marshmallows, all coated in flowing chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. An actual graham cracker graces the summit as the finishing touch (this time around it was no longer standing). The French Toast is warm, thick, sweet, soft, and pleasantly chewy. Chocolate and marshmallow are the dominant flavors with hints of graham cracker and Nutella. To answer all of your questions, yes it did taste as good as it looked. I always feel like I'm eating breakfast at Disney World when I order it. Doughboy approved! Only two minor areas for improvement would be allowing reservations and providing nutritional info. 4.5/5, but will round to 5. *I had the final 1/2 of this dish at home for dinner and I found it to taste even better when eaten after chilled in the fridge. I've tried their treats at events in the past with their food truck, Sweet Escapes, and honestly I needed to have the Loukoumades again! We took the 25 minute drive for my birthday brunch and when we arrived, we were seated right away. Although I have read reviews, I forgot they include a sample of the Loukoumades as a free appetizer so we decided not to order them because that was just enough! You have to try them if you are a fan of funnel cake, it really reminds me of that but soaked in honey and cinnamon if you get the original ones. I ordered the Jalapeno Pineapple Margarita which according to their website includes: Dulce Vida Jalapeno Pineapple Tequila, mango puree and fresh lime. It was $9 instead of $7 like their site shows but I got it anyway. I don't think it had much alcohol in it and wasn't spicy at all if you're sensitive to that. The jalapeno garnish would have made it spicier but I decided to keep it out of the drink. My partner ordered the biscuits and gravy (I forgot to get a pic) and I ordered the Cali Omelette with house potatoes and pancakes as my side. The server heard hash browns instead, but brought us a plate of house potatoes no charge. I preferred them over the browns. They had more flavor and were yummy. The omelette was good but the cheese really made it have flavor. Overall, large portions so we had leftovers! The pancakes were just the regular variety but very good and light! My partner liked his meal as well. Service was fast and we were probably only there about 45 minutes. I really liked the wallpaper in the women's bathroom and the overall layout is open with booths on the side and table in the middle. We were there at 9;30 on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't crowded when we arrived but all tables were occupied when we left. And rightfully so. The food was fantastic. Best pancakes I've ever had. The service was great. Coffee cups were filled often. The prices are just a little bit high but you want good food and service? You have to pay a little more these days. First was drinks and complimentary house homemade honey donuts. Delicious! We ordered the eggs benedicts with house potatoes (crispy), the Greek omelet with house potatoes (crispy) and an upgraded pancake to the berry mascarpone as the side. The to go order was the Biscoff Waffle which was highly recommended off the seasonal menu. When Alisha said the food is served quickly, she was not lying. Between 10 - 15 minutes. Again, the presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. Our first impression was with Ellie at the hostess station. Such a beautiful personality and even chatted with us in the waiting area. My only suggestion with that area is maybe some heat. A super bust spot and certainly know why.
