After being told "We have what you see", we immediately ordered. Of the two employees working, only one knew how to make smoothies. While we waited, multiple customers who arrived after us were helped first. In total, it took about 25 minutes for one smoothie. When we politely shared that we were unhappy with the service, the employee responded by telling us we "took five minutes to decide what we wanted," which is simply not true, stating they were short staffed, and snatching the smoothie back before we could pay and repeating the same inaccurate claims. At that point, we decided we didn't want it anymore and left. I went back in to ask for a manager's name and number and was handed the phone to speak with the owners. They informed me the store was not short-staffed, which contradicted what we had been told. The resolution offered was a free smoothie, but there was no acknowledgment or apology for the poor service. While the owners did listen, which I appreciate, the overall experience left us feeling disrespected. As two women of color, we did not feel valued as customers. What should have been a simple smoothie order turned into an unnecessarily negative experience.
