Black rock has been a staple for a while, although I do admit their drinks are on the sweeter end of sweet! It's a treat-my-self to grab a toasted chocolate croissant and iced Mexican Mocha, but it's closer to a dessert than a wake-up cup of coffee. Think Dutch bros, if you've been. Inside is nice, too! I've only ever stopped in to catch up with friends, but it's usually fairly quiet and large tables, couches, and bench style seating lend themselves to getting some work done. As for the menu, I have tried (nearly) every iced favorite and can say the Mexican Mocha and Caramel Truffle are the best, but again, it depends on what you're in the mood for. So far, I love their iced coffee. I have been a few times, mostly for the convenience factor, and got my oil changed next door this last time so I stopped by here while I waited. The white mocha is prefect without being overpoweringly sweet. The inside is pretty large, great for a working remotely type of vibe. Clean bathrooms and beautiful art on the walls. ORDER Iced Matcha Latte - the major is very dilute and the drink is mostly milk. Also, what they use to sweeten the taste so the drink sort of taste like sweetened milk more so than Matcha. VIBES This is a great place to study or just to catch up with friends. I will say the music is a bit on the loud side, which can be distracting if you were trying to intensely study or concentrate, but there are several choices of seating. Seating includes a higher tables too long table seating to a couch area. Outlets are good and wifi is also good! I also like the wooden aesthetic that makes the place look modern and chill. The staff is above and beyond. The member who took our order and chatted with us while we waited felt like an extension of the family. She gave us 5 star service! We went late in the day and they were out of cold brew but she gave us recommendations of similar drinks and both hit the spot. One of our party members tried the Eggnog Latte and it was deep with flavor. 100% recommend for my Nog lovers out there. I went for their grand opening but didn't realize it was a drive-through and not a sit-down location like some of their other spots. I don't like the drive-through because it's so slow. And since they were giving free coffee, it was jammed. I know that won't be the case once they get going but I prefer to park and either sit down or pick up an online order. The Mexican Mocha was good. It wasn't too sweet and I liked the mix of flavors. If I go back, I'd order something else, just for variety. But there is another coffee spot around the corner that's excellent - and I can sit down there. I'll try a different location where I can sit down and crack open a book or laptop. Drive through is the big negative but that's a personal thing. If you're OK with that, then by all means try it. read more

We drove by this place a few times and decided to try it! I got the iced caramel blondie on the favorites menu, and it was delicious - although on the sweeter side. We also tried the bacon and cheese scone, which they were able to warm up, which was yummy as well. My friend got the strawberry sugarfree energy drink, which basically tasted like a red bull but he said it definitely provided the needed caffiene for energy! We also found out that they have a secret menu that we definitely look forward to trying! I really loved the interior! The chairs at the tables are super comfortable with nice padding, and I really enjoyed the vibes. The music is not super loud and was enjoyable as I was doing work. Once a friend and I went in for a hang out and the ambiance was just inviting and energizing and exactly what you want in a coffee shop atmosphere, but other than that I always go through the drive thru. Every experience has just been delightful, the iced drinks always hit the spot and I always become buddies with the staff cuz they are just nice chill people. Why else do I love it here? I have tried to get coffee here twice, both were failures. The first time there were closed during the day despite their online hours stating they were open. Today I was close by and had time to kill between appointments and came in. U stood at the counter for about 5 minutes without seeing a single employee. I stumbled on a Black Rock Coffee Bar while I was in Phoenix AZ, last month on the outskirts of a very rural neighborhood. Loved it and just assumed it was a local establishment. So, I was really excited to see one in Plano, TX. Coffee was great at this location as well (Vanilla latte w/oat milk) and also the homemade toaster pastry, this one had guava filling, so good! But, the customer service is definitely something that would keep me coming back, very friendly and helpful staff. Just wish they had a Black Rock where I live in CA! read more

This is hands down my favorite coffee shop. I come every friday and it's always fast and the drinks are always perfect. I stopped going to other coffee places as the drinks were always hit or miss. The caramel truffle is my favorite and I love that they have the extra large size as i can make it last throughout the day at work! Reasonable pricing especially for the size you get plus the reward points! Very nice lookin place. BUT, not super impressed with cost and speed of service. There were only 4 people inside and drive thru wasn't a long line. Lot was almost empty. We waited a while to get our order taken. The lady at the counter pleasantly acknowledged us and apologized for the wait. But only 2 people working and we considered coming back later in the day.
