I've been meaning to try this place out, but knew it was in the mall, near the food court. I haven't been to Sunvalley Mall in ages, but felt like walking around, as well as trying this place out. It looked closed at first, and we had to call out for service a few times before almost walking away. Customers must come and go, and not so often. However, she was friendly and worked as fast as she could to meet the demands of customers. We got the cotton candy cone and cotton candy burrito. They were huge! It took about 8 min to make, with only one person working. Both items came with unlimited toppings and two scoops of ice cream. Unfortunately, they didn't have many toppings available at the time. The reason why I actually opted to stay is because they served Magnolia Ice Cream, which is my abosute favorite. I could only eat a quarter of my burrito, but I usually like getting deserts just for taste. It was suprisingly easy to eat. The ingredients stayed in place and the ice cream did not melt. This place needs to be somewhere OUTSIDE of the mall! It is way too good and they don't get the business they deserve. I feel if their location changed, they would have a line out the door every day! Super friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond, it's like a breath of fresh air. Or should I say, a breath of fresh ice cream! Not only do they give samples like every other place, but they give 1 free topping per ice cream scoop. Do they stop there?.. Nope! They also give a complementary cotton candy wrap, when you order a waffle cone. I'm not going to lie, I don't really care for cotton candy... Especially with ice cream! Wtheck? But...! It's not like I'm going to say "no" to FREE! So I told myself why not get an over the top ice cream lol. My son benefited from that oh so healthy cotton candy. I feel it's necessary to update my previous review. It was too one sided. They are a nice lil ice cream shop in a mall, with several selections of ice cream and toppings. The guys that were there were working hard and very polite to my family. The quality of the product was great. The business is clean and easy to find. The reason I am looking at this again as I was disappointed the Cotton Candy Burrito didn't resemble the poster at all. After a very polite explanation from Allysa I understand the problems they have making them. So my original post was more about the one item than the rest of the other things they do well. And if you use yelp you get a free kids cone which I thought was nice. So, I am relisting you with a higher mark. Bottom line ... we left with great ice cream on a hot day. read more

Wish I could make a better review for this place as they have some pretty unique items on the menu, however, that is irrelevant when you step up to the register and the clerk is busy texting/browsing on her phone and take too long to acknowledge you. On top of that annoyance, my ice cream was obviously old and had been sitting in the freezer long enough to be freezer burned containing icy chunks and large slimy/chewy pieces. Trying something new for dessert with the kids. We found this place on Yelp and with only 1 review we had to give it a try. Our last cotton candy burrito adventure was in LA and it was amazing. But this place is awesome! The ice cream selection is decent with a variety of choices. You can get a regular cone with the usual chocolate coating with nuts or sprinkles. But the other 1/2 of the menu was all cotton candy & ice cream. Yes, a much more sweeter option but a fun thing to do every now and then. The unicorn cotton candy burrito was gigantic compared to the 1 we had in LA. The ice cream was flavorful & the whole dessert was devoured. 5 words: cotton candy ice cream burrito = 5 stars no hate on sun valley, but i really do feel like if creamery n joy was its own standalone shop somewhere in sf, it'd be super popular. just for the sheer novelty of it, it should have a line out the door. there's not many places doing this that i know of. it's amazing. and the people working there are so nice! here's the scoop (no pun intended): i wouldn't order this again. not because it wasn't good. it was fantastic. i just don't think i could consume that much sugar ever again. however, each element was just well executed. let me walk you through the process. 1. the cotton candy (we asked for vanilla, but tasted more like cherry which we loved and were totally ok with, just be warned it doesn't really taste like vanilla). she makes a normal looking thing of cotton candy and flattens it out. then she makes a second full thing of cotton candy and flattens that one out. ok, here's where she starts with the ice cream right? WRONG! she makes a THIRD full thing of cotton candy and flattens that one out!! 3 FULL COTTON CANDIES!!! 2. ice cream. she puts 2 HUGE scoops of ice cream (we got cherry) on top of the 3 full cotton candies. 3. toppings. she puts the toppings of our choice atop the ice cream. we got animal crackers, fruity pebbles, wafers, and white chocolate chips. and it's a lot of toppings! 4. roll. she rolls the huge baby-sized burrito and cuts it in half. 5. more toppings?! yes. more toppings. more animal crackers, more white chocolate, more fruity pebbles and wafers on top. that, my friends, is a lot of sugar. it's a whole process to watch. i recommend you see this. it's like a show. i only wish she did it facing us. this could add a lot to the experience, just watching her make one of these sugar babies. oh yeah, did i mention all of this was $7?!?! that's a steal!! you could easily split this with 2 or 3 other people. each element was great on its own. i'd order the cotton candy by itself anytime. i'd order scoops of ice cream by itself anytime. i'd recommend anyone try the burrito at least once. read more
