Maui Waui Sherbet & Raspberry Sorbet
    Alan D.

My friend had a gift card so he invited me out to come try this place with him. At first, we went to the Martinez location, but found out it was like a small booth instead of the store, so we rerouted ourselves and went to their Walnut Creek Location. Inside is a small space for sitting. Their menu is pretty straightforward and they let you sample flavors. Being a sherbet kinda guy, I opted to try their Maui Waui. Maui Waui: This is one of two flavors I got. The flavors of this sherbet reminded me of being on the tropical island. It felt refreshing and delicious. If I had to guess the flavors, it has to be a medley of POG (Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava). Not only did it look like those three fruits, but it was reminiscent of those flavors. For a scoop, it was a healthy amount. Raspberry: This was my second flavor and it was as tart as I expected it to be. The sweet yet tangy flavor really shined for me. I enjoy the raspberry flavors and combining it with the Maui Waui was a perfect combo for me. Overall, I can see myself coming back here again

I really really really wanted to like this place. I seriously bought a scoop of the rice pudding ice cream (added nuts) because I felt sorry for the girl who had absolutely no customers. The ice cream itself had hard undercooked rice pieces. I ended up throwing it away. My coworker had the sherbert colorful something. Too sweet she said. I also sampled the horchata and thought it tasted like plain vanilla. Can't see myself coming back.

Butter Pecan and Cookies and. Coffee ice cream scoop on a 99+ degree weather day

I had not been here for a long time, but I sought it since it was +100 temp. I had been here many times before and was elated that it is still open for business. I had ordered a Cookies and coffee and Butter Pecan scoop on a cup. Gal who worked there was friendly and I sat outside on one of the patio tables. Plenty of seats inside if you wanted to eat inside but definitely good ice cream for a quick treat. Plenty of parking in the Countrywood shopping center.

Pretty solid spot to satisfy your ice cream cravings! It is just a short walk from Safeway - very convenient especially if you just happen to need to get groceries at the same time. First off, our ice cream scooper was very friendly and able to answer questions we had about each flavor, gave us samples, and generous scoops of our chosen flavors. We got a scoop of the rice pudding and the chongos zamoranos. The rice pudding flavor felt very light and fluffy with rice bits in it. The chongos zamoranos felt like a horchata with chewy bits of milk curds (sounds interesting but it was actually pretty good!) And for two scoops it only cost us $10.. which if you compare to other big/popular chain ice cream shops this is a steal. Definitely would come back again! They also have special new flavors from time to time.

Very cute local ice cream shop. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. They have a few tables inside and few tables outside. My son had the cotton candy milkshake which he said was excellent. We tried the mango sorbet and the Lucuma ice cream. The sorbet was fine, nothing amazing. The Lucuma ice cream was pretty great - not too sweet, but creamy and had good flavor.

Strawberry sorbet! $4.50 for a single scoop

Quality ice cream, efficient service, and wide menu, located in a convenient location in a shopping plaza. Plenty of parking. I stopped by on a Wednesday evening around 7pm and there was no wait at all. I was served immediately. Perhaps since it was closer to closing time and on a winter evening, I noticed there were no chairs or tables set out; not a biggie since I was just getting ice cream to go anyways, but I can't comment on their ambience. I grabbed a scoop of their strawberry sorbet. Loved it! Was super delicious and creamy and not icy at all. It had the texture of soft serve, despite it not containing dairy. Flavor was very distinctly "strawberry" and didn't taste artificial at all. Loved that there were little strawberry bits which added to the flavor and texture. A single scoop is very generous which I appreciated. O'Briens has one of the most diverse offerings I've seen. They have 50 flavors of ice cream, Mexican ice cream, smoothies, sundaes, bars, sugar free ice cream, spicy treats, etc.

This local ice cream shop used to be known and Juanatos but seems to have changed names or ownership. The flavors are still the same and there is a good mixture of regular flavors as well as more exotic ones. I got a flavor called Lucuma, it's similar to strawberry but a little more nutty (reminds me of Thai milk tea) very creamy and delicious. Glad I went outside and tried something new.

First timer. Clean space and friendly service. Killed the whole thing in 10 min with my hubby. LOL. I am not a fan of shelled chocolate on this split and would have preferred the syrup instead. Didn't know they changed that option.

Chongos Zamoranos - One of my fave flavors!

Yuuup! This ice cream is super deee duper delicious! Mexican ice cream at its' finest ladies and gents. I have loved this ice cream shop ever since they went by their old name of Guanatos. Haven't been coming by as regularly after they rebranded into O'brien's, but I realize that I've definitely been missing out. Stopped by a few months ago to satisfy my ice cream cravings, and O'Brien's did not disappoint! The ice cream here is super rich and creamy, but it's their wonderful flavors that get me every time. If you're a fan of Mexican ice cream, you will truly fall in love with this place. They have some delicious Mexican ice cream flavors that you won't usually find at regular ice cream shops. Some of my favorite ice cream flavors to get from here are Tequila, avocado, chongos, rum raisin, horchata, and rice pudding. Due to COVID, they stopped doing samples but hopefully they'll bring them back. The staff is always friendly and they keep the interior space really clean. The scoops are nice and hefty too. You will definitely get your money's worth here. So happy to have this little gem in the neighborhood.

Amazing! They have…read moresuch unique flavors. There were many to choose from, and I'm so glad I overheard the other customers ahead of us saying that the vanilla salted almond toffee flavor was what they are known for. We ended up getting that flavor as one of our two. For our second flavor of two scoops, we ended up getting the marshmallow neapolitan. -Vanilla salted almond toffee: I can see what the other customers meant for "this is what they're known for." I love that the almond is candied/carmelized with toffee. It gives it a roasty flavor, which gives the flavor so much depth. The almond also gives a bit of crunch/texture, which makes this flavor so unique. -Marshmallow neapolitan: I'm not typically someone who likes marshmallows or goes for neapolitan, as I don't like super sweet and I don't like mixing flavors. You can definitely taste all 3 flavors--vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. The marshmallow doesn't make the ice cream as sweet as I would have thought, it really just adds the marshmallow texture. The ice cream is very thick and creamy. It doesn't melt too fast to meld all the flavors together (which I don't really like), and I really appreciate that the ice cream holds together so well! The gentleman helping us was very patient in letting us try several flavors. The shop had a more old time feel. There is a bench to sit on to eat for a bit, but no tables. Overall, I would totally come back to try their unique flavors!

The staff are kind and patient, and I appreciate their organized system of moving the customer over to the checkout counter to make room for customers to sample, ask questions from the staff, and more where the ice cream, wall menu, and entrance are located. The small seating bench area by the window gives a feel of many old school creameries I have fond memories of when I was a kid. The line that I've seen out the door many times here is a testimony to Lottie's Creamery's popularity and top of the line ice cream and desserts!

The size of a small cone is very generous and very reasonable for the 6$ price. Very spacious inside but it is pretty much an order then go. Not only did I get the cake and the candle, but the employee helping me asked what the occasion was. After hearing the story, he offered to add a custom message to the cake, even though I hadn't asked for it. That small gesture meant so much and made the person receiving the cake incredibly happy. It was the kind of service that absolutely deserved a great tip. Thank you for going above and beyond.
