This review isn't really about the cake itself, although it was absolutely delicious. It's about the incredible service I received at around 9:30 PM on a Wednesday, when the staff had clearly had a long day and the store was just about to close. Cold Stone Creamery happened to be the only place still open until 10 PM, and I urgently needed a cake with a candle. It genuinely felt like a make-or-break moment. Not only did I get the cake and the candle, but the employee helping me asked what the occasion was. After hearing the story, he offered to add a custom message to the cake, even though I hadn't asked for it. That small gesture meant so much and made the person receiving the cake incredibly happy. It was the kind of service that absolutely deserved a great tip. Thank you for going above and beyond. Unfortunately, I don't know the employee's name, but he was working the evening shift on June 23, 2026, and was a tall guy. I truly hope the managers recognize and appreciate employees like him, they make all the difference. read more

I have ordered cakes here that they've messed up before, but that was usually like a signature cake and they either didn't write on it as requested or wrote in the wrong color. Whatever, right? I ordered a custom (very custom) cake for my son's 6th birthday. There was no remaking this one timely. The gal that worked there just didn't seem like she liked her job that much. The Pleasant Hill location is probably our favorite location in the surrounding area. Although majority of their employees are younger, they still provide great customer service and the ice-cream is delicious. Even if you see a line, they move fairly quickly and there are seats outside to enjoy your dessert of choice. Our family picks are - Chocolate with gummy bears for the kiddo, Cake batter ice-cream with cookie dough, oreo cookie, and pecans (I think she might put caramel, not 100% sure), and for me - Germanchökolätekäke! My love for Cold Stone will never die! Reason being? My first job was at a Cold Stone Creamery. After working there, I couldn't eat ice cream from anywhere else for a few years. One big reason of course was because I used to get free ice cream! Yep, I would take those big buckets full of ice cream home everyday! But, another reason is because the quality of the ice cream is so different from your Baskin Robbins and your local ice cream shops. You can taste the difference, and I could never compare any other ice cream shop to that of a Cold Stone. Although I never worked at this location, it still brings a sense of nostalgia back to me whenever l walk in. Seeing all of the ice cream cakes and waffle cones brings me back to the days of when I used to make them from scratch. But, let's face it... you don't really come here for the service piece... well, at least not anymore. Back in the day, we used to sing songs when people tipped us. Nowadays when I walk into this location, I'll be lucky to even be greeted right away. You can't blame the young kids who work here. I mean, I honestly they don't really know any better. It definitely comes with the lack of training and customer service experience. So, what keeps me coming? Well DUH, the ice cream of course! And, I still like to watch the kids mix my ice cream on that ice cold stone. It brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face. My beloved Banana Caramel Crunch is the main flavor that I get when I come in, and I've been getting it for over a decade.
