Just had their Thanksgiving buffet with our family of 6.. Great selection. Standouts were the beet salad, seafood soup, pan fried brussel sprouts and the meat. The turkey was really moist and tender with excellent gravy and the roast loin of beef was to die for- tender and tasty and choice of rare to medium with au jus gravy. I went in here for a drink with a friend an ended up feeling very out of place. The atmosphere here is so beautiful it catches your eye immediately. Upon walking in, you can see a large stone wall and a long, low fireplace. The place is so modern and rustic at the same time. The designer of this space did a very good job. I looked at the menu, but I didn't order anything because of the high high prices. There wasn't an entree under $20 and everything sounded almost too creative. If you're a meat and potatoes person, you will not be happy here. The servers and hostesses were very polite and nice. I think this place needs to be seen to be appreciated. Being here on a business trip and not always wanting to go out, the hotel restaurant is actually really good. I've tried pretty much everything on their menu (which is fairly small). Their Sunday brunch has quite a bit of choice; eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, full ham, fruits, and a lot more. Nite time, pub time. Damn I worked hard do it really is "Miller time". Beer good. Service good and fast. Order steak sandwich and fries, get another beer bartender forgets my order. IPA NOT Keith's! I must have got the wrong spot. I have all the wait and service staff around me. Ok now the food, I like the fries, kind of like the taters from this morning. The steak is cold at first bite, I flip and it must have been a bad burner. Excellent taste but what do I expect from cattle country? Ok so the plate is away and I'm ready for another beverage. We come to Edmonton every year or so on a business trip, and we always stay at the Sawridge Inn, mostly because the food here is good. They offer a 'classier menu', with a good selection of wines & appetizers. We had the pan fried dumplings to start (SO DELICIOUS) and I had the breaded white fish (cod, I believe) which was also very good. The reason for the three stars is simple: the dinning room is severely and continually understaffed at dinner time. The food comes fairly quickly, but waiting for your server to return to ask for the bill or another course takes an obscenely long time and completely ruins the meal. read more

I was very impressed with this place and for a Saturday I was extremely surprised that it wasn't more busy! Like some of the other reviewers said, I didn't think this place would be as nice as it was and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great, I had fish and it was delectable and the boyfriend had a bison burger and he found it just scrumptious. Oh i forgot to mention I had a boccicini salad to start and it was a little too salty, although I was happy that the server told me not to get the soup as it was not made in house. I really appreciated the honestly. Dessert was delicious, there were so many amazing choices, so all four of us had to try something different. I checked into the Sawridge due to a bathroom reno gone wrong. I left my husband and brother in law at home to fix the problem but invited them to come crash with me as I my room had 2 beds, they never showed. Anyway I was going to go out for dinner and I thought about driving around looking for someplace and decided nope I wasn't leaving the hotel and stayed @ Creations. My server on my 1st visit was Adnan and he was very happy and attentive to my Celiac needs. I started with a glass of wine that was on the Happy Hour Special follow by a Chicken BLT. I was going to go for the Beef Dip but the au jus was not safe for me. BOO. Then after dinner Adnan suggested dessert I declined b/c most Gluten Free dessert is chocolate cake. ENOUGH WITH THE GF CHOCOLATE CAKE PEOPLE. Adnan suggested Cheesecake I politely declined thinking he forgot I was a Celiac. He said it was GF and I really should try it. I relented and agreed. I was thinking it was gonna be GF but also taste GF. I WAS WRONG. This was amazing. When another waiter came to clear my plate I asked him to find out who supplied the Cheesecake as it was so amazing and he reported back to me it was from Wow Factor Dessert in Sherwood Park. I went up to my room and was talking with a friend raving about the cheese cake and within a hour she said she was coming for a drink and a slice. One my 2nd visit that night we were served by Virgil. He was the gentleman who cleared my plate and spoke to the Chef about the Cheesecake. We were torn between 2 cocktails and he helped us decide on the Passion Fruit Fizzie or something to that nature. Basically a baby bottle of sparkling wine and some liqueur that you self mix in a flute. It made two flutes so it made up for the $14 cost. We both ordered the Cheesecake, yes I had a 2nd peice, don't judge when you are Celiac you stock up on the good stuff. My friend who is not a Celiac kept asking if I was sure the cake was safe for me b/c she thought it tasted too good to be GF. Seriously reader go get the Cheesecake. Anyway Virgil was super friendly and would stop by every now and then to check on us. We built great rapport and chatted for a bit at the end of our visit. Creations is a gorgeous space.i have been here for lunch 3 times and have always been really happy with both the service and the food. Today I got the steak sandwich and it was pretty good. It was a little over cooked, but when dining with clients I never send a steak back so I can't blame them for not fixing it because I did not give them the chance to fix it. Went here for a company lunch, for 18 people. Called weeks in advance. Table was ready on arrival, but lunch service was abysmal. From the time of ordering, our food took nearly 60 minutes to arrive. Our CEO had to leave just as food arrived due to how late it was, and was forced to take his meal wrapped in a napkin because they didn't provide a to-go box. After the first food order arrived, it took another 25 minutes for the rest of the dishes to arrive at the table. Most food was cold before everyone could eat together. During the entire lengthy "service", drinks were not refilled until a member of our staff got the water pitcher themselves - and only then did the waiter begin to do his job. Awful. Just finished Easter Sunday Brunch at Creations and was disappointed. Our reservation was for 5 people at 1:30pm Sunday March 27 2016. Their advertised bunch times were 10am-2pm, however, they extended service well after we left at 2:30pm. It was still under half full. Scenerio: big rush over, restaurant not bustling or full, several tables left, various amount of food left in chafing dishes (some fresh full & some almost empty), The food was 3.5 out of 5. Great selection of breakfast items (bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, eggs benedict, pancakes, pre-made waffles, petite flaky pastry, inferior quality juices, cereal in dispensers, and made to order omelette by the awesome male chef). Those wanting lunch items were offered a limited salad bar, seafood (difficult to eat crab legs that were barely cracked, peel yourself shrimp, tasteless mussels, fish), juicy carved ham & dried lump sirloin roast, potatoes, steamed veggies, bisque soup, steamed salmon (overcooked, hard, dry), and smoked herbed chicken. The dessert table was laden with heavy cakes (chocolate, cheesecake, carrot), macaroons, tasteless tiramisu, and a nice fresh fruit platter. Didn't see a cheese plate. (??) There was also a "Make your own Ceasar cocktail" with all the ingredients available. Service was 2 out of 5. Host: couldn't be bothered to lift his head off his podium to greet us as we stood there a full 3 minutes. Finally, I said "hello". The body language and impression I got was that he was more elitist and he was doing me a favor...hmmm. Maybe I'm doing him a favor by spending my $$$ here so he can be ensured a job. By the way, did I also mentioned that we weren't even reciprocated with a "hello" or "welcome". Server #1: It took a full 10 minutes to come by. We were getting up to get our food when he finally showed up and then the first thing out of his mouth was "Would you like any drinks?" .... Did I mention there was NO GREETING, NO INTRODUCTION, or NO EXPLANATION WHERE/HOW THE FOOD & DRINK AREAS WERE ARRANGED?... It was only because I was looking at where some of the other patrons came from that I found the breakfast offerings that my in-laws were looking for. Too late, they already SETTLED on what they though they had to choose from. I did encourage them to try the breakfast items as it was what they were looking forward to. Plus I was able to bring them their juices. Where I was sitting, I could see all the action or lack of action. We had empty eaten plates on our table that were not cleared so we can get more items. I had to flag the server to remove, finally decided to stack them as a tower hoping ANY of the passing staff would look beyond themselves (includes host, floor manageress??, other servers) to get the hint. Maybe if we reused our dishes then someone would have noticed!! ABSOLUTELY GROSS was the server's hand touched my husband's food on his plate while he was eating, server knew it (caught him looking at it) but didn't offer apology or new plate. My husband was sickened by it....end of his meal,,,$40 down the tubes. Server #2: near the end of our dining, to ask if we needed anything else. NO INTRODUCTION or EXPLANATION why he was inquiring about us when we can see our younger original "server" walking around. He did try to engage in friendly conversation which was a plus. Maybe because he was older and better at his job than the young server whose dirty hands touched our food. WHAT YOU DON'T EXPECT FOR $40 PER PERSON: Your sever touching the food on your plate that your are eating without apology or offering to remove/replace the whole plate.!!! The scattering of all the different food stations was someone's idea of segregating breakfast from hot lunch. Would have worked if you knew the other area existed or if your server or host bothered informing your party. I HAD TO INFORM servers that specific food items including fruit tray needed to be replenished. Remember...there are still a far amount of people leisurely enjoying their brunch. Again who is responsible for this?? Certainly not ME! This is a brunch buffet which means people will use more that one plate throughout their dining experience. Do these servers or the management not realize this or would they rather we just go up there with our emptied, used plates to add more food on it. There would have been more dinner plates used, washed, and restocked during the peak brunch time. So why at 1:55 pm would they not set out more dinner plates? Then when I asked for dinner plates for not only me but other dinners who were milling around trying to find them , they only brought out the smaller salad plate. Are you serious??? VERDICT: very expensive for okay-good food (some hits and misses), terrible service from ALL STAFF (exclude tiny asian line chef who actually was friendly and helpful)....would not come again, would not recommend. Although the service is slow the food oh sweet baby Jesus the food. My girlfriend and I had the dumplings to start, the apricot stuffed chicken and filet mignon for an entree and a slice of cheesecake for dessert and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The restaurant was not busy enough to justify how long it took for our servers (two) to get our drinks out and our food order taken. Although they were very well mannered and a pleasure to have speed is also important other than that no complaints. Would definitely go back. Cheers read more

Turkey Day dinner was almost totally cookie cutter. Desserts look like they were from factory frozen pies, Vegetables not really fresh at all. Stuffing very gooey. Turkey OK, Roast beef kind of fatty. If I'm paying to eat out, I want something at least a notch above home food, this was a notch below. At least a little chef creativity appreciated. Went here for breakfast got the signature French toast dish which had Carmel sauce that was the texture of hard candy making the dish completely inedible. Went to Creations for Sunday brunch and was really disappointed. First we stood at the entrance for 10 minutes before anyone appeared and offered to show us to a table. The food selection was decent, but the orange and apple juice were both empty. There were waffles and fruit but no whipped cream. They also charge for coffee above the cost of the buffet, and were very slow to offer refills. There are much better places for brunch. read more

I like this place (the ambience, the food) and want to go back, but the older waiter there was so unpleasant and made us feel so unwelcome that I don't think we'll bother. We were there with a huge group, spending oodles of cash, but he seemed to take delight in making our night difficult. He was especially hostile to the presence of our small son. Dismal service to say the least. Meals took about an hour to come out, alternate beverages besides water were not offered & water was not even topped up for several minutes at a time. Some meals came ill prepared and not made with ingredients from the menu. Steak meals were not up to par.Not to mention that the restaurant/lounge area was almost completely empty. Server in general should be trained better and be more aware of the status of the table. Was not informed we could pre order meals when we had a larger group this would have been a lot more helpful. When this was made away to someone above the server... it just felt like excuses were thrown at us to make it all better. Bill was discounted, but still the service in general wasn't that great.
