I am totally happy with Creative Energy and this is why.... i bought my hot tub from their San Mateo showroom 11 years ago and have used it almost every night since then. I have never had a bad experience dealing with their customer service and I've had them out to service minor repairs several times over the years. I also purchased a gas insert to replace my wood burning fireplace several years ago and have been using that a lot. The fireplace stopped working last week so I scheduled an appointment to have it serviced and got an appointment quickly scheduled. Then I thought I would try and combine that fireplace service with some minor things that were not working in the hot tub since they came from the same company. I didn't really expect that they would send one person to do both servicing as they are completely different equipment but they said Dave would be coming out and he is an expert. I had a appointment scheduled for 9am last Friday and I was a little freaked out because I had a wedding to attend that day at 1pm and wasn't sure that both appliances would be fixed in time for me to leave for the wedding. Dave was so efficient and worked quickly and got me to the wedding on time. I couldn't believe he actually took the whole fireplace apart and (luckily for me I was still in the warranty time period for the fireplace so I didn't have to pay for the two parts he replaced) got it put back together in a couple of hours. This was still getting close to my cutoff time but he went to work on the hot tub and got that done in plenty of time for me to make the wedding. I can't give enough props to Dave Kirley and his skill set. He is very knowledgeable in how these machines work and did a really superb job in fixing mine. Now I feel like I'm in a new hot tub even though it's 11 years old! And I can enjoy my fireplace again which is now working perfectly! Kudos to Dave and his team (the customer support people on the phone were very helpful and accommodated me in my last minute request to get both appliances serviced). I am very happy with Creative Energy and would recommend them to anybody interested in either a hot tub or fireplace fixture. read more

When we bought our house 11 years ago, there was a decrepit, dirty hot tub in the back yard. We wanted a hot tub, but not that one. We visited their showroom in Dublin (it had a different name back then) to shop and asked about removing the old one. To our astonishment, we were told that, since it was one of theirs, if we bought a new one, we would get a credit for replacing the old one. So instead of an additional fee for removal, we got a credit toward the new hot tub. Ever since then we have only had the new spa serviced irregularly. But always by Creative Energy. Their service office has had problems in the past with the scheduling of their technicians. But their service technicians have always been more than capable. Their polite, prompt, and know what they were doing. The best was the most recent - Dave Kirley. He had come out to inspect the hot tub, which we knew had problems. The fee agreed up front. He explained the problems, charged us additional only for the parts and was done working super fast. We will continue to use Creative Energy for our hot tub. read more

New spa from these guys in late March...Great experience, quick and very professional, not a bad price either...flash forward to last Thursday, spa "dead", circuit breaker blown and won't reset, called service Friday AM, met service guy at 4pm Friday afternoon??!! Quick check showed circuit breaker bad (has anyone ever heard of a circuit breaker failing after 4 months???) and "Randy" tested the system to be sure there was nothing wrong with spa. I emailed creative energy for a quote for a hot spring spa and boy did I get a crazy quote and it got higher 3 times in 3 days. I was talking to a sales lady Bonnie. I asked if she would buy back my old spa but they didn't want it because it was too old. Then she said they would haul it away for free and its normally $500! I then told her that I wanted the 0 percent 36 months financing. She says ohh that's going to be a different quote then because it's free financing for you but I have to pay your financing!! What...that makes no sense at all. So she came back with a new quote of over a $1000 more then the last one. Right then I know I was dealing with a LIER!! Then I called the spa Doctor in Modesto where we bought our old spa. I talked to the sales man Richard he was straight up with me from the start and his quote was over $3000 less then creative energy!! And they bought our old spa from us and the 0% financing is a Wells Fargo credit card! The owner came out to do our site check and he also is a really nice man. As others have reported, I found Creative Energy completely checked out. I needed to replace an existing tub and knew exactly what I wanted, so this should have been a slam dunk sale. But they never called me back. I called twice, visited the showroom once, and still didn't get a call back from the sales rep to close a deal. In frustration I went up the road to Spa Express in Cotati, and got exactly what I expected--they not only called back immediately, but showed up at my house 2 days later for a site assessment and quote, and delivered and hooked up the spa exactly as priced and promised. Two weeks after I bought my tub, Creative Energy's salesperson finally called me. When I said I'd already made a purchase, she asked what I went with, and then had the audacity to criticize the product. If that's how these guys operate in sales, I would have little faith in their customer service. read more

The sales staff is very good (5 Stars) and doesn't try to high pressure you. Although I had a negative experience with their service team, HotSpring Spas are the best around. My recommendation buy your spa there and get the service somewhere else. read more

I have owned a Hot Spring spa for many years and have been very happy! When there have been maintenance issues to deal with the service department and Dave Kirley specifically have been awesome!! Dave was on time, very knowledgeable and spent the time to explain what he was going to do. We purchased a home in the East Bay which has a spa. After 6mos the spa was not operational. After contacting Taleena, the Creative Energy service director ,the service technician, Joe, arrived promptly as scheduled and quickly diagnosed the problem. As we are new to spa ownership, Joe took the time to explain the basic operation of the spa and instructed me on how to operate the computer (jets, lights, clean cycle), manually adjust the jets, and treat the water with the appropriate chemicals. I inherited a hot tub and called Creative Energy as that's who serviced our friend's hot tub. They came out the same day to set up the chemicals in the spa. They were very nice and courteous, and I purchased two chemicals from them that I needed. The price was as quoted $100 plus the chemicals. I definitely recommend them! read more

I had used this company back in 1980, when they provided me with equipment for my solar hot tub. At that time I found them to be innovative and very professional. I recently had been looking for a fireplace insert for my 1916 home. After shopping several dealers, I came back to Creative Energy, where they had a great selection of quality equipment and the good service that I had found so many years ago. When it came to installing my new insert, they handed me over to David Kirley, who gave me an onsite evaluation. It was through his expertise that I was able to make some fine adjustments to my existing fireplace opening and make the new insert look like it was custom made. I've had a very frustrating experience with their service group. Unfortunately, the service group is regional and there are not authorized Hot Springs service choices outside of their monopoly. I became so frustrated with the service experience that it has turned me off of getting another Hot Springs hot tub. read more

This has been a terrible experience with Creative Energy. Their customer service is incredibly low quality. I spent nearly $700 on a basic spa cover to replace the old one and after 6 weeks, they finally set an appt to have it installed. They gave me a 2 hour window for the installation and then arrived 1 hour after that window. Then they installed it incorrectly/incompletely so it does not close completely. I emailed their office AND the service department twice and finally received a call from then 1 week later. They set another appointment for a 1 hour window to come back and fix their bad installation. Now they have missed that appointment by another 2 hours. I called the Service Department (Brandon) and was told he'll call the repair guy....no apology was given for the multiple screw-ups and missed appointments. These guys have very low-quality customer service. I would recommend looking elsewhere to buy or repair your tub. I will certainly never work with them again. read more

I love this company, we bought our Prodigy spa at the San Mateo store in 2003 and to this day can't figure out how we ever lived with out it. Our sales person (Kyle Gray) at the store was very informative and really helped us make the right choice as to which spa to purchase. They have a wonderful set up in the store where you can wet test several spas before making a decision. Kyle never tried to up sell us at the time we tested our spa and even came to our house to make sure the place we wanted to set up the tub would work. All around the service was fantastic. Then recently after 8 years we finally needed a part replaced and they sent out Dave Kirley from their Richmond store to help us. He took care of replacing the part we needed and gave me all kinds of tips on keeping the tub running as efficiently as possible. I have since used his advice to change the way I add chemicals to the tub. Dave has worked with Creative Energy for 19 years and it showed in his knowledge base. He only charged us for a 1/2 service call plus the part and he never made me feel rushed when I asked him questions about the spa. We're now thinking about purchasing a gas fireplace insert and would go to Creative Energy over any other store! read more
