Service was great as I was greeted immediately and offered help while I was there (but not in a pushy/annoying way). The two paperback best seller's I purchased came out to just under $40 after taxes which seemed to be on par with/ slightly more than the big book chains, but spending a few extra dollars was worth it to me to support a local shop.

The checkout experience was smooth, though the space is a bit tight and there aren't many cashiers, so I could see it getting crowded during busy times. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the buyback program. I brought in 12 books that were new or in like-new condition (no damage, no markings and some hadn't even been read) and was offered just $0.50 per book, totaling $7 for all 12. This included three complete series and several standalone titles. Out of curiosity, I checked their shelves and saw some of the same books priced between $8-$15 each. Overall, it's a great place to shop for books, but I wouldn't recommend selling here if you're hoping to get fair value especially if your books are in excellent condition.

Even the kiddos will enjoy the children's section. Gift ideas galore. I ended up buying the graphic novel "Woman Life Freedom" edited by Marjane Satrapi. I especially loved the paperbacks outside that are sold on an honor system, which is so great to see - and impressively they were in order by author, which is super rare in paperbacks for sale in that manner. Places to just sit and hang out with books are usually some of the most welcoming places for those of us who adore books but on this day, the vibe was off. I'd give them 5 stars but we were not greeted when we walked in the door because the employees were too busy being trained on some computer software or something, nor were we asked if they could help us when they saw (or probably didn't see because they were too busy with themselves) that we were wandering around. Seemed kind of odd for as many people who were behind the counter to not want to help the three customers who walked in the door. Other reviewers have noted how friendly and helpful the staff were when they visited but that was not our experience. Since we were from out of town, this will probably be our only visit to the store. Maybe their online process is more friendly.
