Berenice was amazing. My wife made an appointment with no prior experience there. Berenice was recommended by Anthony after a short discussion with him and he was absolutely correct. Hey guys, I never usually write a review but I just had to after this. I unfortunately have a very busy schedule and was just looking for a great salon right by me. Happliy paid triple digits and generally was satisfied with the service. I asked for color in June-ish and Kayla Cienega worked on my hair. She told me that to get the color I wanted I needed to come back later in the summer to lighten it up. Unfortunately things have been getting moved around on my calendar a lot and I had to cancel a few appointments between my second color and first (ya know... wash / dry or the occasional trim). Always paid the late fee without complaining because service was pretty good. I had to cancel my last color because I was busy for a last minute trip. No response from Kayla. Then I texted to ask to kindly reschedule. A day or two passed and she said she can't have me as a client because I canceled in the past. Unfortunately this means.... I'm left with a half-done color job. I am understanding but I felt she was not acceptable of my line of work and variable schedule. Hate leaving bad reviews but heads up guys! If you go (which I suggest you do since it's great) and want good & complete hair w/o discrimination against your schedule that comes with your job / life dynamic, request anyone BUT Kayla Cienega. I love this spot!! I had been in a mad panic the day before I was leaving for college and I found the salon on a Monday and I was immediately helped by Lizbeth. She was so amazingly friendly and immediately addressed my needs. She scheduled me and I was able to talk through my hair issue and she problem-solved with me to find a curated solution for my overly-processed hair. On a lovely day, they sometimes keep the doors open and the breeze and sunlight wash the space. I've been going to Kayla for years, and I highly recommend her! The salon was nice but I rate one star because my stylist Vida was rude and did an awful job on my hair. I was looking for a more blonder look with balayage highlights. I understand that my hair was grown out and it would take two sessions. If my hair looked good I wouldn't be posting a bad review and would gladly do another session. This was not the case. This salon gets a 5-star rating so I thought I would be good going here but I was wrong. Vida barely spoke to me and was doing two peoples hair at the same time as mine. She shouldn't have overbooked herself and maybe I would've had a better experience. She didn't have time to style my hair and didn't even show me the back of my hair she was so busy. I looked at the back of my hair the next day and was appalled by my $200 new dye job. Everyone said it didn't even look like I got my hair done. I texted her the next day and she was super rude to me blaming me that she told me she couldn't achieve what I wanted in one session. I told her that was fine I knew that but my hair looked horrible. She finally changed her tune when I flat out told her I didn't like it and was unhappy. She offered to fix it just for the price of the product which I appreciated but the trust was broken. However, everyone in the salon made me feel really comfortable, and Anthony did a great job of trying to understand exactly what I wanted by asking me questions about pictures and explaining everything that was possible for my hair given how dark it was. After talking with the owner about what I was looking for and a general date, I was paired with Kayla. I am so glad that I was! I've been in her chair since I moved to the area (~2.5 yrs). She took the time to ask why I left my last hairstylist, then set to work. She's helped me grow my hair out from pixie to just past my shoulders, add in gorgeous highlights, and taught me how to style my hair. The salon is super cute with plenty of parking. Kayla was great! She listened to what my concerns are with my hair. She reassured me that she would be able to work with my hair. I also appreciated Kayla's straightforward nature about what she can and can't do. She told me she does not cut hair for children. I appreciated that instead of her doing something she is uncomfortable with. The price point is competitive for the area, it is actually less then what I was paying at a near by salon. I almost don't want to write this review because I want my hair to be the prettiest in all the Valley, but I was so blown away today by Anthony's talent that I had to share pictures and what are pictures without the thousand words? This is my second visit with Anthony at Crèche and he absolutely nailed it! My first appointment happened after I manically chopped off a ton of my own hair after watching one of those sped up Instagram videos and I was sure I'd have to get a pixie cut. Nope! Anthony fixed my head up just right. He's so good at understanding what the client wants which is key. With some stylists you can go on and on about what you want the end product to look like, and you're still left with bangs and a bob. Trauma! This is why I was snipping at my own locks in the first place. I'll never have cut my own hair again! That brings me to today's life changing appointment. I came in wanting brown, read: brown, highlights in my black hair. In the past when I've tried this I've gotten red, blonde, or brass-colored chunky streaks. In a leap of faith I asked Anthony if he could make this ever so unattainable brown work and he said yes. A couple of hours and a quick cut later I'm left with the best hair I've ever had! It's exactly what I wanted! Anthony is also warm and hilarious-- so easy to talk to! Started coming here once Covid hit and have always felt safe and secure that they are taking every precaution for a sterile environment. Everyone (customers and staff) were wearing masks and keeping their distance. They offered masks and there was plenty of sanitizer and wipes in the salon. I get my hair cut by Berenice and she is the best! Now coming from a lifetime of chain haircut places (which have always been good) , it is worth paying the little extra $ to get a little extra attention and cleaner cut. Berenice always asks what we're doing this time and nails it every time. I will continue to come to Creche when everything opens back up. I came here as a walk-in after another salon had made a mistake with my appointment (I actually found the salon by seeing the great Yelp reviews!). I didn't expect to be able to find another appointment for the same day since I had originally banked on going to the other salon, but Bretton made time for me, which I was very grateful for! I have very frizzy, curly, often difficult to manage hair, and can be lazy about going in for cuts. My hair had lost it's shape and had so many dead ends. The other stylists are very friendly. You definitely don't get the "pretentious" feel, here at all. I personally, love all the healing crystals in here. Makes it feel safe. 5 stars for customer service-- accommodation, professionalism, and kindness. 2 stars for my haircut and styling. I just have to say that I have never been so well-received when calling a hair salon. Jack, their receptionist, conferred with the salon owner before making a recommendation as to who should cut my hair and why, my appointment time, everything. Seriously, I was floored. Exceptional customer service is definitely a forte at Creche Salon. As for my haircut, I confess to being disappointed. I have short hair (a long bob) that I can coax into beautiful curls with very little effort, PROVIDED that my hair has been adequately textured to remove lots of weight. What can I say? I have a lot of hair. Kayla was recommended as a stylist with extensive experience cutting high-volume hair. I came with my hair styled as I usually wear it, and I also brought a reference photo, since I wanted Kayla to incorporate a heavy, brushed bang. Kayla washed, cut, and styled my hair all in under an hour, which was surprising, as my last stylist used to spend at least 30 minutes razoring my hair to make sure it would be easy to style. I'm a wimp when it comes to customer service confrontation, so I was nearly in tears when she said I was done-- I liked the length and general feel of the cut, but she hadn't spent any time thinning it out, and the curls were almost imperceptible. Honestly, it looked like mildly cooperative bedhead. I think Kayla noticed that I wasn't overjoyed, and I finally plucked up the courage to say something. She was nice enough to add some more curls to the style with an iron, but the interaction afterwards felt forced, because she knew I wasn't happy, and I was just hoping she didn't hate me. I really appreciated that Kayla exposed me to a new type of cutting technique (she used a serrated scissor), but I couldn't justify going back to spend $80 on a haircut that I can't style afterwards. My curls feel just as heavy as they did before getting the cut, and they fall into uneven waves very shortly after styling. read more

I'll preface this review by stating that I've only been here once, so far, but my experience from start to finish was perfect. I called for a last-minute appointment, right before a family weekend celebration. I had been growing out my hair for a couple of years, and I really wanted to get a professional cut before we left. When I called, I was initially told that they didn't have anything that week. I was bummed, but realized it had been a long-shot. After some back and forth about timing for the following week one of the stylists (Kayla) offered to stay a little late on a Tuesday so that I could get in. Too late for the weekend, but I wanted my hair cut regardless. I was impressed to receive text message notifications about my appointment, and even more delighted to get a text later on from Kayla letting me know that she had an opening on Saturday. It was early enough that I could get in and get my hair done before leaving for the weekend. I was thrilled! Now, I have to say that traditionally it's been hard for me to find stylists who actually listen to what the customer wants, and do what is asked of them. Often, I've had stylists take liberties with my hair that ended up being "stylish" but ultimately unflattering. They didn't understand that all haircuts aren't for all people. (Betty Page bangs are not good on me!) This was not the case with Kayla. We spent some time talking about what I wanted, what my hair is like, and by the time she was done I had a cut that looks great either straightened, or left to dry curly on its own. My new go-to salon! I decided I was tired of my hair looking "meh" and that I needed a complete overhaul. I'm typically a trim/cut type of gal, because I don't like spending tons of $ but knew I'd get the results I wanted if I got it colored...so that's what I did. I wanted a rich chocolate brown for fall, and Scout did not disappoint with the final result! She also did an EXCELLENT job on my hair. Although it was a little shorter than I wanted, it moves so well and feels so much lighter (I have pretty thick, heavy hair), and the style is growing on me. Besides, I'd rather have my hair be too short (it grows!) than the color be out of whack. The place is small but nicely decorated, with an adorable outdoor patio in the back. And, they played the BEST music (electronic, chill stuff). I was prepared to drop about $300 on my hair, not including tip, but the total came out to just over $200...which was a pleasant surprise!
