(Forgot to post when we went... getting caught up) We went during crawfish season. This was by far one of the very best seafood places we have been to. The atmosphere is lovely and the food, as you can see in the pics, was amazing! The service was on point and the young man was super friendly. We went on a Sunday around 3 and it was pretty busy. Lots of larger groups gather. There is outdoor seating and a large area outside for the kids who don't like to sit still to run around in. Will most definitely go back!

Food was super good. The fried pickles were a great portion size for the price. This was the half order. The Cajun dog was amazing as well. It's a quality local sausage in a high quality toasted bun. The fries that came on the side were delicious as well. The restaurant is a super cool set up, it looks like your on bayou. The service was great and fast, we were in and out in 30 minutes.

Cute little food hall right outside of Dripping Springs about 15min past Dreamland west on 290. Decor is rustic and a mix of hole in the wall beer joint decor. Young waitstaff that is friendly. COLD beers. There is a large outdoor area for kids to run wild. Smaller inside that is cooler than sitting outside but the ac is not blasting in here (something to consider on HOT texas summer days). We were craving some gulf oysters and cajun food. It was towards the end of crawfish season. Gulf oysters 8/10. Really good. I love my oysters served SUPER cold. It was on a ice try so it was cold.. just not super cold. Not a deal breaker. The freshness was like eating fresh gulf oysters at Acme in NOLA. Fried pickles 8/10, Good to split with some beers. Crawfish 8/10. We are by all means NOT experts for crawfish. It was very flavorful, not mushy, enough meat to fill my hubs belly. Corn and potatoes not over cooked. Beers 10/10. Ice cold and a nice selection without breaking the bank. We'e come back! You should visit! We are looking forward to coming here in the fall for beers and a chill time once mother nature in TX cools a bit.

What a great place right out in the middle of nowhere. Everything we ate was perfectly flavorful, from the fried shrimp, hushpuppies, red beans and rice, to the scrumptious boudin balls. We are from Cajun Country and this Hill Country little treasure, made us feel like we were back home. Try it out , you won't regret it!

This was a great find in the Hill Country! If you are near Blanco or Johnson City, it's a must stop! We had the crawfish, crab and shrimp! Boudin Balls were a great recommendation for an appetizer from our waiter. Awesome outdoor patio, but the bar inside is really awesome too. Waitstaff was very quick on request and friendly!

Great service, great food!! Did not expect this from this place in the hill country. The shrimp was boiled to perfection

We've been coming to the Boil Shack since they first opened, but unfortunately they seem to have lost their way after the untimely passing of their founder. Three different servers played tag team with our table, with none taking any particular interest. Food came out really late, with the appetizer arriving just after our main dishes. Fried green tomatoes were overcooked and underwhelming. Even the deep-fried shrimp, usually our favorite, was smaller than it used to be - and the tiny little crawfish tails were fried to a crisp. Menu has about twice as many items as it used to - but seems to be a case of jack of all trades, master of none.

They kept the nautical theme throughout the restaurant, which you really notice from the bar area where I sat. Service was friendly and very attentive even on a slow Sunday although though I'm guessing this location might be more of a dinner spot. There's plenty of seating both downstairs and upstairs, which makes it a good option for larger groups. As for the food I went with the Connecticut-style lobster roll since it was a warm afternoon, but the menu offers a solid variety of seafood and non-seafood options along with some delicious desserts like the key lime pie which I also got to try. Prices are definitely on the higher side as expected with quality seafood, but I had a coupon that helped offset the cost. I can't say I'd come here regularly because of the price point, but if I'm in the area and craving seafood this would easily be my go-to place.

I sort of drifted the idea of wanting something that I don't usually order and that was the French onion soup and with Cerviche since it was a menu item for Happy hour. I was taken back by the size of the bowl was rather small for $10. But other than that it was really delicious and it was rather enough for me it will not fill you up but definitely it was enough food for me and the tropical Ceviche was served 'fresh with side of lemon slice. So what made the This dish so good was the fact that the tropical mixed fruit in the Cerviche gave it a blend of delicious flavors. Yes, I was a happy camper today for sure I definitely would recommend The French onion soup! Like I said this restaurant is a hit or miss what I mean to say is the fact that sometimes the dishes are not always consistent. The salmon this time was ordered medium and it came out perfect on the edges but the inside was stringy and raw. I'm not talking pink, but the red, gooey, translucent flesh color. Waitress said "next time we'll order it well done." She was trying to be funny but it came off as a little dismissive as she didn't look at the fish. The chicken strawberry salad was very good except for the chicken. I thought a restaurant like this would know that a salad with bright acids shouldn't be mixed with fatty, lumpy chunks of dark meat. Apparently they use a rotisserie chicken that's stripped by a machine - then they just grab a handful of whatever comes out and throw it on the salad. For the cooks it's easy to remember - if it's slathered in sauce use dark meat, otherwise use breast meat. Service was attentive and the outside patio was nice.

The food itself was spot on--delicious and exactly what you'd expect from a good steakhouse. However, I need to be honest about my first experience. The last time I came, I had to wait over two hours for a table. When I finally got seated, I was completely ignored for over an hour. Feeling frustrated, I left without being served. To make matters worse, I wasn't even allowed back in to speak with anyone about the issue. Not wanting to leave a one-star review based on that experience alone, I decided to give them another chance. On my recent visit, everything went much more smoothly--the food and service were excellent, and I could truly enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery. It is worth it though for the view of the lake, the vibe of sitting on the water, and for the fun of seeing all the fish that profit off of it. I got the catfish tacos, which came with a salad as their side. The meal hit the spot. The catfish was cooked just right and well seasoned. It paired really well with the toppings of the taco, which were fruity and bright. The salad was also super refreshing and dressed to my liking. Overall it was a great, light dinner for me after traveling all day and did not take a chunk out of my wallet either. The most fun about this place is that they advertise their natural garbage disposal, the fish who swim near their dock.
