Ambiance: Rustic style bar & restaurant right off the river that offers great food options and a full bar! The space was clean and the service was fast. Our bartender was super friendly! Pretty decent food, I enjoyed the chicken fingers and curly fries. My friend recommends the tater tots. Parking onsite, likely gets crowded when it's a busy river float day or concert at the amphitheater. Good pricing and nice ambiance for a chill day in the hill country!

This is a nice, family-run restaurant and bar. And it's just casual enough to make this a place a nice part of a day that also includes a visit to a nearby lake or river, with plenty of nice outdoor seating if you're dressed too casually to be seated indoors. Our waitress was fun and energetic and gave us great recommendations. We ordered the newest thing on the menu, Kenny's Keto, and we also ordered the most popular thing in the menu, Shaved Ribeye Tacos. We would both gladly order the same thing again. The keto plate came with two grilled chicken breasts topped with melted (real) cheese and bacon, along with some pico de gallo, slices of avacado, and a side of ranch dressing. And the taco plate came with two tacos and a side of frijoles borrachos (a delicious bowl of pinto beans in a beer-infused broth). Really tastey! It's not a fancy restaurant, just a neighborhood tavern in a small town. But we're really glad we stopped by.

Miss Paige made my experience at rice rose amazing! Makes great drinks and an amazing personality! Great food! My favorites are the shredded ribeye tacos and loaded fries!!

Drea was our bartender and she was great! Very friendly and welcoming. The food was always too tier I have literally never had anything bad here. The pretzel is so warm and perfect texture- the queso and mustard were also perfect. I got a river water and it was so light and refreshing. We love it here for the atmosphere inside and outside too.

We came here the night before 4th of July, and it was raining pretty bad. I preface my review with that because of my rating. I called ahead because we were a party of 9. They reserved a table for us which was great because the place was already packed. We had 4 kids with us. It took over 50 minutes to get our food, they should have gave us chips and salsa on the house. Our waitress told us at the end there is only one chef back there. Again, not complaining per say, but at least let us know that ahead of time. The ribeye tacos were amazing and the pretzel. The beans were also very good, and I don't usually like beans. Drinks weren't bad, I got a frozen watermelon margarita and was charged $1 for it being frozen and an additional $1 for the flavor. They had tvs so it's more of a sports bar vibe and there is patio seating. I was just in town for the weekend. Would I go back? Not so sure.

Everything was so good! There was not one thing that we did not like. We got a little bit of everything, and we really enjoyed our drinks. I got the Fresh Watermelon Margarita, and it was super refreshing and it was the perfect ratio of liquor for me. My husband discovered his new favorite beer here which was the Devil's Backbone. He now gets it occasionally whenever he sees it. I wouldn't have expected Truffle Burrata in a bar/casual setting, but this was delicious. We shared all of the items we ordered, and I new that we had to try the Ribeye Tacos, it was more of my husband's favorite but I still enjoyed it. My favorite was the Loaded Tots, and I try to recreate it at home!

Stopped in before heading to Camp Fimfo with the kiddos and it did not disappoint. Wait staff was great and the food even better. It was so good we went back two days later for some more!

I can't explain how much I love it here. The lighting. The patio. The drinks, the food. The people.

Settled in the Canyon Lake area, this little spot doesn't appear to be much if you're just passing by but looks are deceiving. When you come in it has a divey feel with a bit of down home mixed in. They have live music a lot of nights and it becomes over 21 after 9pm. We decided to pop in here with our group after a long pool day for some drinks and grub. We had some of the chicken strips, a burger, pulled pork sandwich and some brisket tacos. All was devoured without a word. If no one is talking, the food must be good! The patio has some games that the kids played while the adults had a few beverages while winding down. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. I recommend a stop if you're in the area.

Getting to this venue isn't difficult but what is difficult is getting IN to the venue. Specifically, I had VIP parking but I still had to wait in a single lane to get into the parking lot for more more than 30 minutes. I literally missed the beginning of the show I was supposed to see because I was sitting in my car waiting for the police to direct the one lane of traffic to the general parking lot vs the venue parking lot. Once inside the venue, concert/event goers will see different lines for VIP check-in vs. regular check-in. As I was late to this concert and was VIP, I didn't necessarily have the same problems as the Yelpers who mentioned overly long waits to get in. Once I was in the venue, I went directly to the VIP suites that are located upstairs. The suite I was in had a bar right next to it, therefore when I requested food or drinks, the waitstafff came quickly as they were within earshot. Unlike others who mentioned long waits for service, I think it largely depends upon what tye of admission you are have (general, standing room vs. suite, vs. lower level seating). This is the first outdoor venue I've been to in Central Texas that has suites. It should also be noted that those who have suits also have thier own VIP bathrooms (not porta-potties). Therefore, my opinion of the seating, bathrooms and view of the event is probably slanted because of the type of access I had. *Here's a tip, if you have a membership to the golf course next door, you can sit and listen to the music for free* Once outside the suite, the general merchandise area and event merchandise area was fairly lackluster. Aside from the stereotypical astronomical prices, this section and selections was generally unimpressive. There appeared to be several food options from Texas Barbecue to Nachos with minimal wait for food offerings. The sound of the event was good but not great. This isn't a deal breaker for me as some of the performers had trouble with their equipment. Also for this event, I went to see Blues Travler and John had COVID so this wasn't the best showing for the group. There was another lead singer reading lyrics from a sheet and as everyone knows that no one can be John other than John Popper. I left this concert early as I wanted to avoid the same issue I had getting into the venue with the traffic. I am not sure based upon this showing that I would return to an event here.

We took the back way into town from Austin which turned out to be a very scenic drive along the ridge tops and also looking down into nearby Canyon Lake. Before we arrived, I was concerned about the arrangements of the performance venue as I had a general admission ticket, which is essentially standing room only. The staff at the facility did a great job of marshaling incoming automobile traffic into the parking areas, and managing the lines. We got through the ID and security checks quickly. There are also plenty of food and drink service points so you don't have to wait long for a beer or chow. While it got a little tiring to stand for the two acts, we were able to easily pick out a great spot to view the stage and did not have any issues seeing or hearing the performance. I would come back here to see other acts in the future. Recommended.

It first operated as a stagecoach outpost & blacksmith shop. And it famously built the Tavern in Comal County during prohibition. It wasn't until the 1950s that a dance hall pavilion was added to the property. And while the tavern wasn't made famous through country songs, it remained a popular watering hole for the locals. Today, the new owners have helped revitalize the dance hall and brought about a renewed appreciation for this musical outpost.
