It first operated as a stagecoach outpost & blacksmith shop. And it famously built the Tavern in Comal County during prohibition. It wasn't until the 1950s that a dance hall pavilion was added to the property. And while the tavern wasn't made famous through country songs, it remained a popular watering hole for the locals. Today, the new owners have helped revitalize the dance hall and brought about a renewed appreciation for this musical outpost. The monthly special was the Peachy Keen, pesto and peach pizza and was legitimately one of the best pizzas we've ever had: it should be a meny staple!! Our dog and we also enjoyed the chickens and livestock of miniature horses and a donkey who were very calm and allowed our pups to greet them. Loan Man Mountain Brewing is on the list this year, wow! What a nice place. It's not a secret either because this Wimberley spot was busy. Between their win and their brews, good atmosphere and great music what more could you ask for. I had a stout and my wife had a West Coast IPA, both were great. I'm a connoisseur of fine Bavarian Pretzels, oh and this one was fine! The cheese and mustard were perfect and the pretzel was warm and crispy. We will definitely be back, beautiful day to be out enjoying places like Lone Man Mountain Brewing.
