Tasty beers and friendly service in an outdoor "beer garden" ...in the middle of the Northgate Mall. Live music and trivia nights as well. A nice local addition.

For those who truly appreciate the art of craft beer, Ounces Outdoors, is a rare find. The selection is not only extensive but thoughtfully curated, offering a nuanced range of flavors that cater to both connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike. The ambiance is the epitome of conviviality, making it an ideal spot for both relaxed evenings and lively gatherings. But, what truly sets Ounces Outdoors, however, is their commitment to excellence--from the meticulously crafted brews to the knowledgeable staff, every detail is designed so you have an amazing time. It's clear that they understand beer is more than a beverage; it's a passion, and they share that passion with every pour. Special shout outs to Waz, Abby and Jo who have been making me want to come back year after year !

Best thing at Northgate and arguably the best place to have a beer, listen to music. Bring the dogs

Live music, covered outside seating, super friendly and hardworking staff, good food and beer with large patio area where kids can run around and have fun. Also, super dog friendly. There is ample parking in the mall parking area, and just a few feet away is covered mall parking. Close to the freeway.

Really cool outdoor beer garden. Very dog friendly. Awesome place to have a beer and sit with the dog. Great appetizers. Plenty of beer options and wine - a really good sour today. Botche ball and corn hole. Lots of space Few kids, but they are allowed. (We don't like kids)

I have thrown 2 events here & each time the customer service cannot be beat. Truly stellar. Never a moment where I felt I was an inconvenience. They were always so accommodating with letting me bring in my own decor and essentially make a mess. THEIR TENT IS UP! And so happy for this amazing mom and pop business because they deserve for everyone to flock on over no matter the weather. Also I don't even drink (or eat meat for that matter) but the veggie dog with all those grilled onions is seriously on point. Honestly, I cannot rave enough about how welcoming and lovely Ounces is. Bring your dog! Bring your kids! Oh and fire pits- check. Wednesday Trivia- check. C'mon? What more do you need? Thank you Ounces for being THE BEST!

This place rocks. All the things you like in a bar that's outdoors. They have Bocce, Cornhole and a place for the kiddos to roam around. Oh! And the food is awesome while having beers and ciders you really can't find anywhere else.

The Asian salad... it looked like a bagged salad, nothing special at all about it... got it with tofu and they didn't even cook the tofu. Very very odd... would not come back for food unfortunately.

The prices aren't any lower, even though there is no waiter coming for your table, just the opposite. There is no host to see you, and you can share tables, so it's quite uncomfortable in some situations. The other issue is there are kids running around that is not the fault of the restaurant but the clientele. Kids are running in and out the door playing on the sidewalk out front and overall just make an uncomfortable experience to have adult beverages, unless you're the kind of parent who likes to speak inappropriately and drink inappropriately in front of your children. None of this is really the biggest issue, which is the food is absolutely terrible. They should just serve crackers and cheese or something premade somewhere else. Lastly, the parking is terrible as there is none. It's a dangerous area of fourth Street with people speeding up right where the front doors are to enter Mericle mile. Please be careful especially with your children. It's strange to me why people think a place is good or cool just because they serve alcohol. This place is not good, but especially I can tell you that it is not cool. The clientele are very trendy, dorky, yuppies trying to be cool!!! one piece of advice for the restaurant and the customers is you can't try to be cool. Either you are cool or you're not and then most cases you're not! It's just because a place has beer doesn't make it cool, and just because you go there with your kids doesn't make you cool! Again, the real problem with the place is simply lack of originality and terrible food, as well as boring people who are spoiled brats!

We ordered Fried fish tacos instead of grilled and a burrito. The chips and pico de gallo for $5 is very good, we ordered at the bar. The garlic fries are so good, every piece with great flavor and crispy. The burrito is huge and very filling, but our fried fish tacos are excellent, my wife really liked them, 2 on a plate with everything on them. It's quite messy to eat these tacos, they're big. Anyhow, compare to the Halfmoon Bay fish tacos that we liked, this is quite delicious. There are quite many beers served here but we didn't have any. This is a great fish place, but quite hard to find parking and in a very busy street.

I honestly didn't realize how much I'd enjoy playing pinball until coming here--there aren't many spots that have that kind of unique feature anymore, and it really added to the experience. I went for a Yelp Elite event, and it was great. The owner was there and super welcoming, and his staff were genuinely nice and attentive. We were given bracelets that gave us access to two drinks, which was a fun self-pour experience. That said, it would've been helpful to get a quick tip on pouring (like tilting your glass) beforehand--foam can sneak up on you fast , especially with so many people around. Because it was busy, we were also given a card that allowed unlimited access to the games, which was awesome and made the night even better. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The owner also mentioned that you can rent individual tables or even the whole venue for events, which is something I'd absolutely consider in the future. I'll definitely be back.

This location in greater San Rafael is a bit out of my way, but a recent trip to Marin was an opportunity to make up for the lost. Located in a business center, parking here is not an issue and they were not particularly busy on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately, noticing how clean and modern the two-story gastropub looks. The food menu is more or less pub food, executed well. Mango-habanero wings were crispy and came with two dipping sauces, both delicious. We also tired the pretzel, which is on a smaller size, so next time I'll take our server's suggestion and order two. It also came with mustard and cheese for dipping. All their burgers are more or less a la carte: no fries, but chips and house pickle on the side. The burgers were fine though, with smash being smaller, but a bit tastier than their signature Monk's burger. Simplicity is sometimes the best. The beer list is expertly curated with focus on other styles besides IPA, but I assume that Russian River's Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig are always on the menu, in addition to ultra-local options. For pub fare, Monk's Kettle is a bit pricy, which is not totally unexpected in today's economy-especially knowing the area. However, elevated food, drinks, and service quality usually comes with the elevated price tag. We might not be back next time in Marin, but this was surely not the last visit to Monk's.

It's inside a mall, and I did not see any directories to point the way. Once we found it and sat down, I noticed the sign telling us to scan the QR code on the table to order. Honestly, that almost sent me right back out the door. I wanted an actual menu, not a tiny phone screen with lots of scrolling and submenus, especially since I had questions about the food. The atmosphere felt a bit impersonal at first, mostly because of the mall setting and the QR-code ordering system, but the friendly staff helped make it feel much more comfortable once we got settled. The two people working the front were both very pleasant, answered my questions, and made the whole experience feel much more welcoming. They had a decent IPA selection and a variety of bar foods (pizza, wings, appetizers). We ordered the arancini, fried cauliflower, and a pizza. The fried cauliflower was the surprise hit for me, especially with the garlic aioli. The arancini and pizza were also very good. The QR ordering setup still feels more frustrating than inviting, but the friendly service and surprisingly good food turned things around. In the end, I left glad that I stayed.
