This is in regards to my father in law passing. We found out on a Thursday morning that he might not live through the day. I found this company and went to the office and made all the arrangements. He passed that afternoon. They provided pickup and the services. Very professional. My sister passed recently without a lot of notice. Hospice called and said the time was near. I called CSI and they emailed me the forms. I filled them out and they took care of everything. I noticed some reviews saying incorrect info held everything up. I'm not sure why when Erica sent me the official document to review and insure everything was correct. In both cases I received a call, email or text letting me know what was happening. We dealt mainly with Jessica from start to finish and Erica in between when setting up the witness cremation date. Both were phenomenal. Erica was very responsive via phone and texts. She was very accommodating to get us scheduled on a date that we really needed based on the lunar calendar, due to our Buddhist beliefs. On the date of cremation we got to meet Jessica and she was extremely friendly and put us at ease. We also met another lady and man during the actual cremation and they were wonderful. I believe the lady's name was Natalie, but I am not sure. I do know she has a beautiful large canine friend who she was walking before she started work. The value was premium as well. The place is well-kept and clean. Very simple but nice decor. Very Zen-like. Their prices were also one of the best in the area. read more

We preplanned and met with Erika as soon as my mother received her diagnosis. They were understanding, kind and professional. Everything was explained with patience and understanding. When my mother passed, we made the call and CSI was literally in the area and on their way. The Hospice nurse pronounced my mother and the gentleman was there to pick her up 20 minutes later. (It was 2 hours from her last breath to pick up) I can't remember his name and I thought I never would forget it. He was excellent! My husband and Uncle were in the room with us. He let them know that they did not need to be there to see her taken away, but they both wanted to help. He was gracious, allowed them to be there and accepted the help. Also, we asked him to be stealthy to hide from the children in the neighborhood. He backed the van into the driveway and took her out through the garage. The office staff kept me informed, called for payment a few days later, sent me a text when cremation was approved, let me know where and when to get death certificates and called me to pick up cremains. I had zero issues with this company and recommend them to everyone I talk to. This is a place doing the job that needs to be done and not preying on emotions for profit in a very difficult time. Overall CSI did a wonderful job. My husband's body was picked up quickly, but the two people who picked him up were casually dressed and seemed like 'business as usual' during a traumatic time. I would have appreciated black pants, white shirt and black sneakers as a minimum. Also, when I was prompted to say goodbye to my husband before they took him away, I was unprepared for the way they had wrapped him. Erica was efficient, explained everything fully and was respectful and business-like when I went a few days later to pay. I paid for a private viewing, and they tried to make that area nice, but little things were neglected, like the cloth that draped the paper casket wasn't ironed, so I was staring at creases. The body was displayed with hands crossed at his chest and he looked peaceful, but his eyes were not fully closed. I didn't stay long, but as I'm religious, I knew the body was just a shell. The company provided solid information about the death certificates, they had the cremains in the urns ready for me to pick up when promised, and were kind, business-like and efficient in every way. But I would not have paid extra for a viewing if I had known beforehand what to expect. After all, that's why morticians charge more. The body is prepped and looks more natural because of it. Please look elsewhere. Cremation Services advertises $695 one stop shopping - but you get what you pay for. Calls were not returned. The pick up of my son's body was delayed for 3 days due to the lack of responsiveness. I left several messages over several days with the answering service when nobody answered the phone. Only one call was returned. There was no compassion or commitment or consideration for our need to move forward through this process in a timely manner. It made a horrible situation even worse. My Husband died last Friday at 3:45am I waited for 3 hours (they said they would be there in an hour and a half) with him for someone from Cremation Services Inc to show up. to pick him up.The man told me he did not work for them, but the would contact me tomorrow. Sat No call, sun no call Monday no call Tues I was getting a really worried and I called them! The woman who answers is very nice but sounds like she has dementia, does not have a clue what is going on there. Said she was not there Friday to call. What about Monday and Tuesday? Then she sends me an email that says they need the Cremation info filled out and sent to them! I did that back in May this is august!II even called back a couple weeks ago to confirm it with her. I am stressed enough with out having to track them down and deal with this. This is has not been a good experience so far and I am really concerned now as to weather I will get my husbands remains or someone elses. I"m afraid this was a big mistake. read more

This is a horrible place to use as a service for cremation. No compassion, delays. We called them and they never know where the file is. They promised to get papers. Place is filthy. Worst place. We had the unfortunate need for cremation services with the recent passing of my Mother-in-law. Truthfully, it's really strange to be writing a yelp review for such services but after thinking about it further, what better company to write a review for? You want your loved ones cared for with respect and dignity even after their passing and that's how we felt with the services we received with CSI. They came into her home and prepared her body and were respectful to the family and to her. It was an emotional time so we appreciated that the process was swift. The selection of urns are beautiful and we're really happy with the final product. We received similar services for my Father-in-law 6 years ago and paid nearly double. As anyone imagines, the last thing you take joy in is something like cremating a loved one. As strange as it sounds to Yelp about it, I had to make sure people knew about this place and how great the family is that took care of two of my loved ones in the last couple of years. They are family owned, which means genuinely caring people and below market prices. You can tell they are passionate about being compassionate and are not trying to turn their business into a crazy profit center. I could not believe the prices of the commercialized mortuaries that provided this service. Do yourself a favor and give them a call. Yes, they are cheaper than everyone else, but not only that, they were amazing and we went back to them a second time because of it. The experience here was horrible beyond words. First off, if the business is putting up signs to wear masks, why is everyone in that business not wearing one? Seems a bit hypocritical. We were charged $300 for the cremation and the uncomfortable experience the family felt as 3 guys waited practically watching us as we said goodbye to our loved one. There is no look-in window to see the cremation happen and the wait time is about 4 hours. The customer service was disgraceful! You would think that going into a business that deals with death and family's grief would require more consideration and customer service to be about a 5 star, this business definitely didn't give us a good experience at all. read more

I find it odd to leave feedback on an experience at Cremation Service Inc. but here goes. Paid quite a bit extra to do a Cremation Viewing . I have mistrust for this industry and therefore wanted to make sure I got back what I paid for. First thing I noticed was that face masks were required for customers , but none of the employees wore them. Apparently governor newsome business rules are not observed here. I was rushed through the viewing process as the workers gawked at the customers and displayed Poor attitudes. I expected to observe the process to include remains going into the Urn. I was told that would not be happening and all I paid for was the two minutes of rushed viewing before the deceased went into the crematory. I was told rudely to call the mortuary if I had an issue with that . I suspect fraud. They charged us for a death certificate that the county of San Diego has not even issued. And per this company the certificate was lost in the mail "untraceable " County states they are waiting for an amendment to be done by this company before they can issue a death certificate Our family was charged for something not issued yet by the authorities. Healthcare fraud. Don't use this company Still don't use this company. They did perpetrate fraud As I learned going in person to San Diego to get a death certificate. Owner's correct in only that we're all the same family but he wasn't going to rectify his mistakes until we went to county offices and uncovered his Fraud. Terrible customer service. read more

They are definitely the cheapest. And there is of course a good reason for this. If you are ok with buffoons in your home removing the body of your loved one, delayed services and belligerent management, then this is the place for you. Absolutely the most horrifying experience I have ever endured. Tara specifically is a monster and should have lost her job a long time ago. This company does not deserve to be in business let alone handle the remains of anybody's loved ones. I would not suggest them to my worst enemy. Not only did Tara put a bag on my teenage daughter's lap that was in the same bag of her deceased father after he committed suicide and smelled horribly asking us to go through his personal belongings. But just 20 days later after I lost my father tragically as well , Tara so carelessly failed to follow the law and released my father's remains to his girlfriends who had no legal right to them. I am his next of kin. Then after I made the arrangements for my father's remains to be returned (only because this stupid company clearly has no competence.) Tara wants to charge me more money to separate the remains after she made the mistake in the first place. They will be hearing from my attorney please don't ever use this service it will be the worst thing you ever do. read more

I was somewhat wary after hearing stories about people pressured by funerary services to buy more expensive options by suggesting that paying more equated to loving the deceased person more or rushing relatives through signing contracts. They were very professional, respectful and walked me through the paperwork- and were very patient. I have had no problems with their service. Just to update you all on the saga, caused by the ineptitude and horrible attention to detail...despite being told my husband's address/state, the death certificate was applied for using an incorrect address, which the company who did not disclose. Long story short, they may or may not have mailed our certificates to Maine, despite all documents signed for by my husband giving his correct address. Again, they gave us no proof that the documents were mailed...no doubt because they have no skill at dealing with out of state clients. We are out $235 because of their unwillingness to take ANY responsibility in their typo. Do not think that they are compassionate. They simply see their own bottom line. Which is disgusting given that they cremate people for a living. We ending up getting the amended documents from the county, paying again for something this company should have delivered. They are not a go to for services. Apparently, and my name is spelled with two R's. Yet another example of their lack of attention to detail. read more

County court house said that there was an amendment sent to CSI regarding our late mothers death certificate. Until such amendment is fixed, no death certificate can be issued. A fee was collected. Stephen Banks claims certificates were mailed to us. They offer no proof of such mailing. Stephen Banks and Steve Shocks are clearly non professionals. Who puts documents worth $235 in the mail with no tracking number? That cost was for 10 copies at $23.5 per copy. Cost if done direct with the county court house is $21.00. Not sure how that doesn't imply a markup. CSI-says industry standard.to mail with no tracking? Legal documents simply throw in the mail. Tara said she hoped she put enough stamps on it. Really? Turns out, in fact, our mothers death certificate has not been finalized with the county. So never issued. So why does CSI/ cremation Services Inc still say they mailed these out. They have no proof of mailing yet want us to pay again. For no guarantee. This group won't stand by their word of delivery. Think about that when choosing where to have your loved ones cremated. Standard practice is actually delivering on what your company charges fees for. Shame on them. Our mothers estate is in limbo until these people do their job. I am appalled at their lack of professionalism. They need to get this resolved. read more
