Approximately 20 minutes from Omaha (give or take depending on where in Omaha you live), Denny's Place in Crescent, IA is a bar (and grill) serving up a whole lotta tasty pizza. This is not CPK, so don't expect Thai chicken or Greek feta fun or California vegan tofu sprout. Denny's is about the basics...firm, crispy crust loaded with the right amount of sauce and a generous heap of standard toppings covered in cheese for a good price (a medium combo pizza runs about $12). Denny's is small with a local, dive feel. On a Saturday night, the wait for a pizza can be up to an hour. Don't be discouraged. If, like me, you love yourself some bar food, settle in with your cold beer and order a pre-pizza appetizer or two. I highly recommend a basket of their fried dill pickle spears and a basket of hot wings. They get all five stars for always friendly service, more than decent pizza, deep fried baskets of happiness, cold beer and that neighborhood dive vibe that I'm fond of. Dinner for three with beer, apps and pizza - $35.

good food but over price. $18 for a "medium" 10" pizza is a bit much. Good service, just too much…read morefor a small town bar.

Clean open restaurant with a modern view. Clearly a focus has been put back on the food, menu offering great staples and super special specials. Honestly, the service is a little spotty and they could really use an updated beer menu that includes pricing but the food is good and the prices are great Gambling or not gambling, the Sky bar and grill is worth a stop

This past Thursday, around 5:30 PM, eight of us decided to check out the brand-new Sky Bar and…read moreGrill inside the freshly renovated Prairie Flower Casino. Hopes were decent, vibes were good, and hydration? Covered--with water. Only water. We were seated quickly (shoutout to the light crowd), and our server came by to ask if we wanted appetizers... before even offering drinks. Bit of an odd move--it felt like skipping the handshake and going straight for the hug. I'd already clocked the self-serve Coke Zero station (bless whoever added that), so I figured I'd grab one later. We ordered mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and garlic parm wings. The server disappeared before we could order drinks. When she returned with the apps, she vanished again without checking in. We had to flag down another server for plates--and someone managed to snag a tea while we were at it. Eventually, we got to place drink orders. They came out slowly, but once we had them, refills flowed freely. For mains, we ordered: 1 Prairie Flower Burger 1 Steak Salad 3 Meatloaf Dinners 1 Pot Roast in a Bread Bowl (my pick!) 2 NY Strips My pot roast came in a cute little bread bowl with gouda mashed potatoes--small but tasty. The burger looked fantastic, and I'm going back to try it. The meatloaf had a herby twist but was well-liked. The steak salad, however, missed the mark--cold steak, despite being asked how it should be cooked. The NY strip steaks were inconsistently cooked, and the baked potatoes came plain--no butter, no sour cream--just lonely spuds. You have to ask for toppings. Good to know for next time. Now for the plot twist: we waited 90 minutes for our food. We watched every other table get served before and after us while we sat and sipped our drinks. Our server was apologetic, and we made the best of it with good conversation. But dessert? Total redemption. Chocolate cake (solid) Berry compote cheesecake (delicious) Pettit's Donut Bread Pudding (absolute game changer) That bread pudding stole the show. I'd come back for that alone. And here's the best part: management comped the entire meal--without us asking. We were told half-off, but they covered it all to compensate for the delays. That kind of service? Huge win in my book. Will I return? Definitely. I live nearby, I love a good Coke Zero on tap, and I'm rooting for Sky Bar to smooth out the bumps. Final Verdict: A few stumbles, but solid effort, great desserts, and top-tier customer service.

Was really looking for someplace different that had an outdoor patio and this sure was it! Loved the little drive through the country to get there. They were quite busy just after 6PM. We would have came sooner but service on the upstairs deck doesn't start until 6. Perhaps that will change in the future and open up earlier. The view from the top deck was fun. Nothing amazing just quiet country except for the occasional motorcycle or grain truck cruising past on the highway. We were lucky to have gotten the only table on the deck. Surprised they only had one table on the deck. With the size of the deck more tables and umbrellas would be a fantastic addition to that deck. I think the owners are fairly new so perhaps that will also come down the road. They did have 2 long picnic tables against the wall however they looked pretty uninviting and also each had a bucket on it filled with old rain water, empty bottles and cigarette butts. Nothing against smoking as smokers seem to enjoy the deck as we did, but who wants to sit next to a bucket filled with water and trash. Speaking of trash there were also a couple of bags of trash tied up and sitting on the deck. Didn't seem to smell but not very appealing. Their main level is the main bar area and upstairs is an adult only game room which seemed to be popular. Full service bar up there and all employees were very welcoming. You did have to order your food and drink inside if you are sitting outside, but they will bring your food out when it is ready. Worked out well. I ordered the Philly sandwich. I really appreciated the fresh green pepper and onions on it, the toasted bun and a good amount of cheese. I just really didn't care for the meat. It had an off flavor and it was seemingly overcooked? Crunchy and kind of dry. And this sandwich is huge! Could easily split it, but unfortunately I just didn't care for it. I ordered a side salad with it which was good. My dining partner ordered the BLT. Didn't know it was a triple decker and with it being served on Texas Toast made this one huge sandwich and a bit difficult to eat. It looked really fresh but the bacon was different than we are used to. It was very limp and just also had an off taste. Maybe turkey bacon? Not sure but it also wasn't our favorite. Ordered potato salad as a side and that was tasty. Seems their breakfast gets good reviews perhaps will try that someday. Would rather come in the afternoon or eve and sit on the deck. Maybe just come tatchos next time...If we want to wait until 6PM. I'm told you can sit up on the deck before 6 but there is no access from inside so you have to walk around the outside of the building and go into the main bar to get your drinks and food. I'm probably not that coordinated. Ha ha!

The waitress and other employees were super nice and welcoming. We were greeted and were sat immediately. I obviously ordered the Cheeseburger deal and my daughter ordered the Ranch Bacon Chicken sandwich. The cheeseburger was okay. You can obviously tell that it was just a frozen patty by the texture and shape; (it's $5 though, so I can't complain about it too much. What did I expect?). Also, you can tell the chicken on the chicken sandwich was frozen by the same things, the texture and shape. I'm assuming that mostly everything on the menu is frozen. They have some really good specials but not sure if we will go back and try other things in the future.
