Crescent Counter is a great little coffee shop connected to the hotel. I've been here two days in a row and enjoyed it both times. The first day I ordered a hot caramel latte, which was smooth and really well made. The second day I had the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant--super buttery and flaky, with perfectly seasoned eggs. I also tried a vanilla coffee with milk, and the vanilla syrup had an almost cinnamony flavor that was unexpected and delicious. Definitely a convenient and tasty stop for breakfast or a coffee break.

Crescent Counter has moved one block down the street inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel. The ambiance is just as quaint as the last one. This space however feels more vibrant. And the coffee and menu consistently amazing. The owners tell me they have been attempting to claim the business on Yelp to update the address but are running into issues with Yelp.

Great gourmet coffee and food. They make everything, so it's quality. Nice people and service. Clean atmosphere.

EXCELLENT customer service and suggestions. The coffee was bold and the flavors were perfect.

This is a really cute spot! There is some bar seating for while you wait for your drinks. The coffee and tea were both good, didn't try the pastries but they looked good. The only bummer was it took quite a long time to get our two to go lattes after ordering (30 minutes) and we were expecting a quicker turnaround, so probably not the best place to come if you are in a hurry. Didn't feel as though the quality was worth the wait for me.

I found this place on my last morning in NOLA and boy do I wish I'd found it sooner. The interior of the shop is super cute and has plenty of bar style seating for taking a quick call or finishing up that last minute report while having your coffee. I got a cafe au lait, egg and cheese and spinach frittata, almond croissant and a homemade limeade. Everything was FANTASTIC. I literally wanted to return and have 4 more of the croissants because they were so good. They make all the pastries in house and the juices are made that morning. This is the type of coffee shop/community space that I had in walking distance in my own neighborhood in Philly. Definitely bookmarking as my go to spot the next time I come back to NOLA.

We literally stumbled on this hidden gem while visiting NOLA for a long weekend. Unless you walk by or look it up, you won't see it. It's attached next door to a hotel but the sign is flush on the outside wall. We took a chance based on the Yelp reviews and were so happy we did. It's small inside but very clean and simple. It's a coffee shop buy so much more. It appears everything is made early that morning and they do run out. Only about 10 single seat inside so it appears most take it to go. Here's the kicker! It's not expensive. Their prices were very reasonable. We ordered to coffees and the sausage & cheese roll, blueberry biscuit and the almond croissant. OH MY every bite was pure heaven. We sat down to eat them and let's start with that super flaky blueberry biscuit. Just a hint of sweetness and a glaze that made it scrumptious. The croissant was also flaky and incredibly delicious. The crown jewel was that sausage and cheese roll. Not sure what type of sausage it was but it was the best I've ever had. We ate breakfast for 1/2 of any other restaurant and enjoyed it so much....we came back the next morning.

Came in for a cappuccino one morning and it was amazing! Everyone here is so friendly and it's a very cute and clean shop that opens early at 7am. I didn't get a pastry but they looked amazing in the little window. They have amazing looking peach croissants when I stopped by. I enjoyed my coffee at the counter and it looked like a lot of regulars coke by in the morning.

I asked the barista how long it took them to perfect their cappuccino. They said with a smile "it's not perfected" ...and that's some humility because, daayyuum. Crescent Counter makes their pastries in-house and provides a delightful atmosphere, great playlist, and serves local beans from woman owned and operated business. I may have never come here if I didn't happen to be walking nearby and in need of a coffee post Mardi Gras madness (since I already have my go-to's). But, this place has become top 3 for me!

If I were rating atmosphere alone- 3 stars would be generous…read more I am rating product and service because adding "ambiance", would do those who work here and their product a disservice. It takes a while to get your order because of low staffing. That said, when you get it of course it's beautiful and tastes great. Sitting just around the corner from Bourbon St. and the hustle and bustle energy that you walk thorough to get here- walking in was disappointing. It's a large open space with seating- and it's QUIET. No background music. It gives late night diner vibes and honestly, that's too bad. Adding music, upbeat- doesn't have to sound like a club but music and having more energy between staff and customers would greatly improve the experience and I believe, increase business. If there were some Fats Domino or 90s R&B flowing out of speakers and staff were smiling, upbeat, dancing etc. it would give more "legendary" experience verses midnight diner vibe. That alone made me not want to come back. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol so stopping to sit for a well made artistic milkshake is a great option. The energy brings down the vibe and experience. Match the ambiance, service and vibe to your menu and 5 stars all day.

TL;DR - Despite how popular and what a tourist stop this is, you still HAVE to grab your beignets…read moreand coffee here, at least once. You do that, you may be stopping more than once. Longer: So I was a little hesitant to go to CDM, because it's such the tourist stop and the first joint anyone mentions when they say "beignet". But this was our first stop, morning of first day. The beignets are piled in sugar, they are warm, crunchy and crisp on the outside and soft, warm and delicate inside. I gotta tell you, the texture is just a little different than Cafe Beignet, the Four Seasons, and even the other CDM in the park we tried a few days later. To me, this is the best one. Now, as a coffee person, their black coffee is strong, rich, and a good compliment to the real show - the beignets. But I did not pick up on nearly as much chicory in their chicory coffee as, say, Cafe Beignet's version. Also, I have to let you know the other location in the big park serves a non-chicory version (in addition to NOLA chicory) that is head and shoulders the best coffee we had in New Orleans. But this is the joint. As a bonus, it's colorful, has consistently great street musicians, and has lots of walkable sites as you struggle to waddle around after too many beignets. Gotta go!

I was not impressed. I do not understand why people say this place is great. The coffee was…read moreterrible. Had it both iced and hot. Had the beignets they were also not so great. The cost is ridiculous for the gift shop when you can go to the grocery store 2 blocks away and get it half price. The atmosphere was loud, service slow, so many people and horrible turnovers. The best coffee I found was at Empanola. Do not waste your time or money.
