Rather misleading. I received a flyer saying they'd be in our area buying jewelry, gems, minerals, militaria, vintage and fine watches, and other collectibles. The flyer says, "We buy Loose, Mounted, Antique, Vintage, New, Diamond Rings, Brooches, Bracelets, Engagement Sets, Earrings, Pendant, Pins & Charms,...& Rare Vintage Costume Jewelry." I brought all of these, and more. Their offer? Scrap value. It totaled enough to buy a decent dinner and a margarita. No thanks. Could've told me that up front and saved us both a lot of time. Exactly one month ago I took 3 Berring watches in to have batteries replaced. One of the watches quit working a couple weeks later. Took it in today to have it replaces again. Thought maybe it was a bad battery. The girl kept telling me it would be $15.00. I said over and over that I just had it replaced by them. It should last a year or more. Then an older woman came out. Showed her a picture of the receipt. Asked me what I spent $45.00 on because they only charge $15.00. So again, I said I had 3 watch batteries replaced. Made me feel like I was pulling a fast one. She came back onto the sales floor and said they replaced the battery at no charge. But the battery they took out was not one that they carried. I said again that it came from them because this is where it was put in my watch. She just kept shaking her head like I was still trying to pull a fast one. I said maybe it mistakenly came from a previous battery replacement. (Believe me, I am not hoarding watch batteries.) She just kept shaking her head. I never in my life felt like a battery replacement thief like I did today!! Now I grew up in this town. My sisters and mother have all done plenty of business at Crescent. After today, I will never again go back. I hate to say that but that's how angry I am right now that they made me feel this way. Not one person even smiled at me when I walked in the door. My husband and I stopped in to Crescent Jewelers to get some jewelry appraised. While in there waiting, we were browsing and looking at some of the other jewelry there. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!!!!! This owner sold me a 5,560.00$ engagement/wedding ring and 3 and a half years later I went back to see what it would take to trade in/upgrade. I had ALL THE PAPERWORK that Crescent gave me displaying the appraisal, the carrots, cut, clarity and the E.G.L, the owner told me that this ring is obsolete and he doesn't deal with these rings anymore. When we FIRST bought the ring and right before we left with paperwork in hand I asked the SAME EXACT OWNER questions regarding trade-in in the near future. His response was he would honor any piece purchased from him for equal to little less in value for potential upgrades. Unfortunately NOW my wife and I feel CHEATED, BAMBOOZLED and conned. The gal doing the gold weighed the gold and told us it was point six ounce (in grams) and offered $200.00 The other appraiser was called over, he weighted the gold and offered $325.00. The actual weight was over one-ounce and at the newspaper flyer advertisement it should have been $1,500.00.. the other items that on ebay and other sites was advertised at over $500 got an offer of $50.00. The female appraiser did NOT use a magnifying glass until told to do so, and she missed represented several pieces of gold jewelry as NOT being gold, even though each was clearly stamped 14 to 18 K. read more

When I went to pick up my necklace I mentioned that I did not get a call prior to repair, as promised. The estimate note on the ticket was scratched out. I chose to pay with my debit/credit card, but for whatever reason their machine declined my card and was told it could not be their machine. I went straight to the bank and was told nothing was wrong with my card. Workmanship on repair seems to be excellent, customer service was okay and faulty debit/card machine which is why I give them three stars. My first and last time doing business with them. read more
