Disappointed is an understatement for the service I experience this evening October 2025. I asked for something and received something totally different. Usually I have a regular nail tech. However this person was unavailable till two weeks out. I just needed my gel X removed when I asked for service the nail tech advise something different at this point. I just agreed so I can get out of her seat she recommended I come back to do my pedicure. I told her absolutely not. I have a regular tech and I would not be returning . My nails look horrible. I need to go get them redone tomorrow at a different place. I hope other people have better experiences however I did not if I can rate this place zero I absolutely would. I been getting my nails done for about 10 years and I had to result into this place because I was very desperate due to the Halloween weekend Which is my biggest regret walk into this place with your own experience, only because giving mine ugh. Service was good but I felt a little uncomfortable because the ladies where sitting there talking the whole time and I obviously can't understand what they are saying ... also they where not really paying attention to what they were doing or asking me if I liked the nails I had to keep telling them when I didn't like something because they where to busy talking within themselves and I couldn't even figure out how the massage chair worked and again they didn't offer to turn it on or ask if I wanted it on.. But she sure knows what to do when it comes down to taking care of my problematic feet. I workout and my toes and feet need extra TLC and someone who knows what they are doing. Horrible service! I rate this a NEGATIVE 5 Stars. I asked for gel manicure with chrome. The nail tech didn't completely remove the old nail polish nor thoroughly complete the manicure. I didn't get the color I asked for. Initially, Christine the owner seemed to understand the service I asked for. She translated to her worker. Then when I noticed it was the wrong color, I called Christine over. The worker was rude, she mumbled in Vietnamese, threw my hands towards Christine, and walked off. Christine took over. I showed Christine the clumpy polish, uncut cuticle, and incorrect color. Christine said she would take care of it, but DID NOT! She said the color would show in the light. What kind of response is that!?!?! I ended up with clumpy nail polish, wrong color, and to top it off it chipped and peeled off in three days! She charged me $60. I paid cash $70, instead of giving me $10 back she tipped herself $5. She didn't deserve a tip, so I wasn't going to tip her. Obviously she NEEDS the money so I didn't say anything. 100% wouldn't recommend. My best friend & I went into this nail shop to get our nails done, and Christine did gel polish on both of our natural nails. I got white & my best friend got these, and both of our nails started chipping within 2-5 days! Gel polish should never chip that quick, and when we both went back in to ask her politely to fix them or change the color she had an attitude. Then she tried to tell us that it is normal for gel to chip in 3-4 days. Lol wrong. So, then she ends up trying to charge us to change the color. We decided to get them taken off completely because we weren't going to pay for that. she is unprofessional, especially when we weren't even mad we just wanted them to be fixed lol. I was recommended by a friend to check this place out when I told her that my friend and I wanted to get a pedicure. The nail salon is located next to New Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and the Christian Family Bookstore. We were greeted upon arrival and luckily without an appointment, we were seated immediately in their nice massage chairs. The nail polish choices were okay with good brand names like Essie, China Glaze and O.P.I. I realized from this experience, I'm not used to people touching my feet and I was really ticklish when the nail technician was scrubbing down my feet and massaging it with lotion. I honestly couldn't handle it so she moved on to the next steps of the pedicure and I probably missed out on some good stuff :( LOL My friend got a cup of red wine which was really cool because he got the full-on spa experience. I'd say overall it was great customer service because the nail technicians let my friend and I converse on the massage chairs with each other after our pedicures were done. However, they did bring up suggestions whether I wanted a design on my toes, French pedicure, a manicure, etc. but I just politely declined. A pedicure for $20 is reasonable to me because I felt refreshed and girly :) They do charge $1 for all credit card purchases so bring cash if you can. I would definitely come again. read more

I went to Christine last November (& also October as a trial run for my November wedding) - she did such a fantastic job, delivering exactly what I wanted! I wanted a white powder, coffin/ballerina manicure and received exactly that. Her location is a bit hidden and the name actually reads "Nails BC" instead of "By Christine" just as a little tip. Her business is adjacent to Teppan and I never would have known to go to see her except on a whim. I came by & made an appt. for 2pm on Sat 5/6/23. I live just down the street so thought it might be a good idea. Boy, was I ever wrong!!! I walk in & there's nobody here but the 2 workers & a mother/daughter which are friends of the workers. I get lukewarm water at best. I asked why it's not hot water & she tells me "it takes too long to get hot but it will be at the end." WRONG! Guess making the customers happy isn't part of their business plan. Well I waited another 7 minutes, asked for a towel (which they didn't want to give me) but my girl finally walked out expecting to give me a pedicure now that I waited on my time for her to eat her lunch. Maybe if they had explained beforehand I might have taken it alright. I'm not an unreasonable person. BUT, COMMUNICATION is let in any relationship, especially a new business I've. To just leave me sitting & disappear was totally wrong! I'm still in shock over the way I was treated!! I brought my sister to get her nails done at this establishment for her wedding and I specifically told the staff that she was a bride asked that she be taken care of, however this did not happen. The person who took care of her nails was really rough with her, cut her and did a sloppy acrylic job. He picked the color for her, some sort of baby pink (which totally didn't look bridal) and my sister of course hated it. She told him she wanted something nude color but the choices weren't there. She thought of settling with a different color but the guy said that since it was gel nail polish he couldn't remove it so he painted on top of the original color. The job was sloppy and he thought it was ok to keep painting her nails with fuss on her nails, "because it's ok it'll come off"...........what??!! At that point I told him to stop everything and take the color off because the work was crap --absolutely worst job i've ever seen in my life. My sister broke out in tears and it wasn't until then that everybody else started to come up with additional colors for her to choose from. When i saw the bill for two pedis, one manicure, and an attempt at acrylics it was $116........I just wanted to get out of there because she was in tears the DAY BEFORE HER WEDDING! I came here to get my nails done black and white with pin stripes & polka-dots. The man constantly messed up on the polka dots! He left then lines everywhere. Once I told him he tried to be lazy put polish over it instead of taking it down and redoing it. He was incapable of doing polka dots. Also, messed up the coloring of my pinstripes. Can u believe they charged me $90 for a pedicure and full set. They said the extra $40 was for them putting in their time. Christine claims she can do everything! That's a LIE! I choose this place for an eye brow wax after reading reviews. Honestly, I wanted to go somewhere else, by this place had no wait, whereas the other place in Oxnard would require an appointment a week in advance. I struggled to find the salon. It's in a large shopping complex and it's tucked into the back near a pizza place and a Christian book shop. I waited for about 10 minutes for the woman to be ready. It was busy and many people were getting manis or pedis. They escorted me to the back to this small room. There was another woman working on someone on the table and I sat on a small chair by the door. It was a little awkward being in the same room as the other person being waxed. The two workers also talked to each other throughout most of the waxing. My brows were waxed slightly thinner than I wanted, but she gave them a nice shape. I live in Oakland and had no clue where to get a mani/pedi. So I found a few salons on Yelp and I'm happy I chose this one. Everyone was really nice, and when they heard I was in town for my aunts funeral, they all offered their condolences. The lady who did my toes asked if she could do a design, so I let her do her thing. What she did looked like art. The design was so unique and unexpected..just like me! I needed a brow wax REALLY bad and was nervous about getting them done here since I only let one person do my brows. The stylist did an amazing job..I wish she would move to Oakland!! WORST PLACE to get waxing! Trust me, there's pictures. I just left this establishment as an extremely i dissatisfied new customer. Never will I return to Nail Art BC. Very unprofessional and lacking the required ability to perform any type of waxing. I was referred here by my sister who said she had the best eyebrows done there and so we both came by today for our eyebrows to be waxed. My sister went up first, during the time she was being waxed the woman says to my sister "I think I made one thicker than the other?" And she hands my sister the mirror and she agrees with a displeasing face. She tried to do her best to fix it but leaves her eyebrows mediocre with the middle part extremely separated from each other. (You'll see pictures) I was next, not only did she rip skin off, but she completely left me looking hairless on the wings of the eyebrows. Most disappointing part is that she not only did not apologize but tried to belittle the situation by saying "oh it's nothing, it'll go away."
