Admittedly he does not have to allow us to park there, but you would think for a place that charges $6.99 a gallon for gas and depends on tourists for the business they would be a little more friendly. We were preriding the route for a motorcycle tour we are bringing through next week, I guess we will take them to the Valero for fuel.

The location couldn't be better, just a short walk to June Lake Marina, restaurants, a general store. We spent the day exploring the lakes and trails, and in the evening, we grilled outside with the kids. The whole vibe is very family-friendly and peaceful. It felt like a little mountain escape without having to "rough it." We'd definitely come back again, it's the kind of place you want to revisit every year. The building is in a very walkable area. Check in was easy and the people who run the place seem sweet. Cons The walls are so thin that you hear EVERYTHING that your neighbors are doing. The first night I had to endure singing, loud talking, laughing, screaming for hours! My husband went and knocked on the door at 10:20 p.m. to ask the girls to quiet down, but it made no difference. The walls are just too thin. The second evening new people came who were just as loud, so we cut our trip short and just went home. Maybe the stand-alone cabins don't have this issue, but the cabin we were in shared walls and we heard every dog bark, toilet flush, phone conversation, etc. It wasn't very relaxing, and I felt like it put a damper on our vacation weekend. If noise doesn't bother you or you are in a stand-alone cabin, you will probably have a better experience than we did.

It was like a turkey sandwich I think with jam and the bread was so so soft! But I remember it also had a sauce inside that was so good too. As soon as I had a bite I was like I think this is the best sandwich I've ever had. I remember the customer service being so nice too. The outdoor seating was so beautiful, they had a bunch of flowers and cute bees just resting in the flowers. I felt such a peaceful vibe at this place and I hope I can come back again and make it my next rest stop for next years camping trip.

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

Westin is owned by Marriott so you get all the Bonvoy rewards benefits. Best perk is they're dog-friendly. Dog fee is $50 x night per dog. Parking: Underground parking for guests. There are a few EV charging stations available. Download the ChargePoint app (but it's a pretty pricey, 0.91 per kWh). Highly recommend! You can't beat the location, the convenience, comfort, a beautiful stay.
