We had an amazing stay this past weekend at the Mammoth Chalets! Management was so great with communication, kind and accommodating, it made our trip that much more enjoyable since we did not have to stress over certain things like check in and parking. I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I am keeping this one quick in hopes that ya'll will read it. - Timely responses from the owners. I asked a lot of questions and they were on it right away even late at night. And...super polite about it. - Nicely located. They have properties that are within walking distance of the village. We wanted quiet and we got it 3-5 minutes driving out of town. - Clean. Though the furniture could use an update, we could not complain about the cleanliness. You know how sometimes you feel like you should avoid your bare feet touching the floor? Not this place. - PET FRIENDLY. This on often keeps us out of some of the more attractive properties. I get it, there are sloppy pet owners out there. This place did not feel like we had to stay in a dive because we had the hound along. read more

We just came back from four days of heaven! We had a great experience at the mountain chalets to say the least. I didn't know what to expect because it was our first time in mammoth. We went 6 families, each two staying in one chalet. The kids had so much fun enjoying nature. The chalets were equipped with everything you can imagine. Our cabin had tons of board games for the kids and adults to enjoy. We went fishing two days in the lake. The nature was so beautiful. The kids enjoyed playing around outside. We will definetly come back in the winter. The chalets were clean and cozy. The people in the office were hospitable, helpful and friendly. read more

The only place to stay in Mammoth! Debbie is AMAZING, and the chalets are so cute and cosy. We stayed in chalet 15, which had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of space for our party of 6. The location is incredible, the lifts and lodge were only a few hundred feet away. We just strapped in and skiied down to the lifts! The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need to cook your meals, including a BBQ. The chalet retains heat very well, and has a fireplace and heaters throughout. The beds were all very comfortable, and so are the couches. Plenty of room to hang out inside if you're not into skiing. We are already planning our return trip! Beautiful cabin, perfect location. Debbie was fantastic to work with, and we couldn't have had a better stay here with friends and family. We stayed at Chalet 12 which is a large cabin (sleeps 10, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms). It was a short hike up from the office, and snowcat rides are available in the winter upon request. The ski back is extremely convenient and the guys were in and out throughout the day to eat lunch/take a break from the mountain. I have a pretty bad lower back, so the beds were a little tough on my body, but that probably just all tied into being really sick over the weekend too. Couches are comfortable and the cabin gets heated up really well! All the essentials are provided: towels, dish soap, paper towels, trash bags, lotion, soap, shampoo/conditioner, firewood. Make sure to bring: cooking oil (if you're going to be using the kitchen), extra tissue boxes for anyone sick (this was me), hair blowdryer, paper plates to avoid too many dishes. :) read more

Amazing place to stay. Cabin 22 felt very remote with the recent 20 feet of snowfall. The kitchen was a nice set up to enjoy while family gathered. Beds were comfy, fireplace cozy. The staff were helpful and the snowcat rides were fun. We had 1 car over allowed and we simply parked in the mammoth Mountain parking roadside. Super easy. read more

Overall we enjoyed our stay! Pros: - Location was great. - Walking paths behind the cabins. - Cabin was spacious for our group and everything worked well. -Pet friendly. Cons: - Had difficulty reserving on the website so we called the receptionist who said they couldn't reserve a room over the phone because they didn't have internet. - $100/dog non refundable. A flat rate of $100 non refundable fee is understandable but $100/ each dog was excessive if there was no damage. However, I do appreciate them being accommodating for our pets. read more

My friends and I just spent four nights in Mammoth Mountain Chalet #14. We were able to ski off the run right to our cabin, which was very cool. When we arrived, the chalet was a bit dusty, had some cobwebs, and some of the walls needed some cleaning attention too. Given the price for our stay, our cleanliness expectations were certainly higher. The on-site manager offered to send a cleaner over when we brought these issues to her attention but we declined since we were all already there for the weekend and did not want the intrusion. The snow was incredibly deep and up to the peak of the two-story roof. It was beautiful and like something out of a Christmas story. I am told these chalets are the original Mammoth Mountain A-frame chalets. The weight of the snow (snow load) was enough to skew most of the doorframes and prevent normal door alignment/closure. The manager explained that this structure shift was normal for the 50+ year-old chalets as the snow loads increased. Make sure you are comfortable with and understand the potential for any structure "shift" based upon the current snow load. If you are concerned, you might contact a local structural engineer to inquire about typical, normal, and or safe structure shifting due to the weight of present snow conditions. A local engineer should be readily familiar with this condition and his or her insight may address any concerns ahead of time. We were later contacted by the corporate manager who was very apologetic and offered to refund a portion of our rental. read more

Mammoth Mountain chalets what a treat! It was such a fun time at Mammoth Mountain we were at the base of the mountain and within walking distance easy walking distance to the chairlift with unbelievable service from Karen and her whole team in the office we had no worries. We needed an extra crockpotwe would love to know if we could check in possibly 30 minutes early if available we needed extra covers wanted to understand the rules of weather patterns services is as top drawer as it gets! In addition to our cabin was so accommodating for 12 people we were all comfortable it was completely stocked!!!. All of the cookware was top drawer all clad brand. We had wine glasses, coffee cups coffee dispenser even a blow dryer in the master suite. Linens were provided and sleeping bags unnecessary to bring and there was enough towels for everybody staying in the cabin. furniture was well cared for too! wood was already in the cabin for the entire stay. there was sledding slides for the kids so we wanted nothing and if necessary we could have even had our groceries delivered and our skis delivered through their partners ! what it amazing trip I highly recommend this place it is a jewel of the area my best regards to everybody we will make it our annual tradition! Huge patio deck and huge gathering table were a JOY!!! read more

Mammoth Mountain Chalets are ON the actual mountain, with the ski resort literally just steps away. They're run by a few nice people, including Kelli, who was extremely friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to our various questions and concerns. ----------------------------------- My friends and I shared chalet #19. It accommodates 4 couples, 2 singles, and a dog ($50 fee per trip, not per night) splendidly. It's the closest chalet to the Main Lodge/Discovery chair, although all of the Mammoth Mountain Chalets are very, very close. #19 includes a barbecue, but no washer/dryer. The (full) kitchen includes lots of glasses, plates, utensils, and cookware. The weather outside was frightful during our visit, but the insulation, heater, and fireplace were all top notch, keeping us quite comfortable at all times! For being such an old place, this chalet was excellent shape. We had no issues whatsoever. Even the wifi reception was good! ----------------------------------- Ski in: There's a small trail off Road Runner that allows you to ride pretty damn close to the front door of any of the various chalets. Road Runner starts at very top of the mountain, but can also be accessed from the Discovery (beginner) chair lift towards the bottom. Ski out: Getting to Discovery (the closest lift) or Main Lodge requires a short walk. Having lunch and/or drinks at your chalet and then going back out makes for an amazing experience! ----------------------------------- Has staying at Mammoth Mountain Chalets spoiled me so much that I won't be able to stay at any other cabins in Mammoth? I guess not. But I can tell you that I'll certainly be treating my friends and I to this experience at least once a season from now on. For what you get, the price is more than worth it! read more

We had a marvelous stay at the mammoth mountain chalets. Wonderful interiors, very good service and an excellent location to all the action at main lodge. I Highly recommend the adventure center for the kids (I have a 4 & 8 year old who had a blast!) the adventure center offers... Climbing Wall Zip Line Bungee Trampoline Bike Park Practice Loop (This is all literally right out your door!) reasonably priced too Kids Adventure Pass - $39 Let your kids loose for the entire day at the ultimate mountain playground! My only qualm was that they had a yummy burrito cart by the center but from my experience a hot dog or hamburger cart would be a great addition for some kid friendly food close to the activities. The chalet we stayed in (#1)was top notch... Stunning views, spacious, clean and best location to the lodge and family fun... The nights are quiet and cozy with a perfect fireplace and a well stocked kitchen with everything needed.... Keli and Jim made sure we had everything was at the highest standard and made us feel like part of the family... Behind the chalet is a beautiful hiking trail, not too strenuous perfect for all ages.. My kids rode bikes and collected treasures for hours.. Oh and I can't forget for the bike riders of all ages the chalets are right across from the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park which offers terrain for every ability level.. All in all this was our best mammoth trip yet! So glad we stayed here excited to book more dates in the future! read more

Please note that this review is the FIRST for Mammoth Mountain Chalets. The other reviewer here is discussing a condo complex 8 miles away called Seasons Four as she mentions. So her review does not belong here under Mammoth Mountain Chalets which are individually owned Chalets ON Mammoth Mountain itself, next to Main Lodge and behind Mammoth Mountain Inn. Ski/In out access is via Lower Roadrunner i.e. the cat track we all take back from the backside at the Right of the bottom of chair 12. Anyhoo, I rented a Mammoth Mountain Chalet cuz the dude I was seeing had a couple doggies that he likes to take to the snow and it was his birthday. Since we both have season passes to Mammoth, he deserved to be spoiled, and I wanted to do that spoiling, ;) I did some Googling and I found this place has a few chalets that take pets and it's kinda romantic too!!! Let me also say that I have rented various types of lodging at Mammoth for a very long time, and more than once a year, and I take others with me who also go on to rent places. I previously have shied away from the Chalets because their old web site provided no photos or clear info on the bedding arrangements. They have a new website now and although it clearly needs more detail and pictures it was enough to make me pluck down the fee for a place. I rented in my opinion, a very attractive Chalet that took pets #23. The onsite staff could have not been nicer or more communicative regarding the rental and complexities surrounding it (you must be snow-catted in all at once etc). Upon arrival the TV was broke and they took care of it right away and they started our fire. I had guests coming at all hours and they were cool with providing directions. We followed their rules of 1 snowcat in and 1 out and they helped us take photos and load/unload the cat and have us extra parking passes and offered a later checkout. :D In all was a great stay and I will be going back. My only complaints are that the housekeeping was a bit lax, the web site did not tell me up front the extra fee per pet, I found out later, and there where very few drinking glasses in the Chalet. I know the latter is the owners not the managements fault. Only 3 glasses were in a Chalet that slept 9! Oh and the cancellation policy is very strict with you needing to cancel 30 full days prior. Still the chalet was a treat and staff great. I'm going back! read more

Our annual pre-Christmas ski trip was wonderful! Stayed in #22 which has views of Broadway run and the mountain. It was clean, cozy had everything we needed and perfect for families. The staff was so helpful and really wanted to help make our stay perfect. Will definitely come back! read more

Absolutely the best money I have spent on a vacation in my entire life! Yes, that good. The place is beautiful, well kept, super close to the slopes and the staff is incredible. The staff is so helpful, caring and dedicated that I truly felt like they cared about my families experience. The onsite manager (female...I think her name was Kelly not sure) helped out with every aspect of our visit and made us feel very welcome. Even the snowcat drivers were cool. As for the chalet it had everything and was super clean. Literally you only need to bring your ski/snowboarding equipment and good bottle of wine or brews and the vacation here is perfect. I highly, yes highly recommend a stay at the chalets! read more

We just returned from a 3-night stay in Chalet #17, and had a great time there. Tim, one of the co-managers, is super-friendly and helpful. The chalet was very comfortable and well-furnished, with great amenities and a decent Internet connection considering the location. Even though the snow coverage was pathetic due to drought, there was enough man-made snow for a full day of skiing on probably 50 different runs from the top to the bottom of the mountain. I highly recommend the ski rental service that the Chalets have a partnership with--great service and very good equipment. We'll definitely be back! read more

I been to the chalets before but really did not pay much attention to the staff as u was overwhelmed with the snow. The cabins are super and very clean, dan stop by to pick up trash and refill toilet paper. I want to go back but they are so book. 6 stars for customer service and friendliness. We stayed at #10 and had an AWESOME time! The chalet was perfect - we had 3 adults and 3 teenagers and there was plenty of room for all. The chalet is literally right across the street from the ski lifts and gondola and couldn't possibly be more convenient. We came up in the summer for the mountain bike adventure at Mammoth - it's absolutely incredible! We did 34 miles of downhill riding and had a blast. For $60 a day, it's well worth it, and all skill levels will have a great time. If you're looking for a great getaway that the whole family will love, you can't beat the Mountain Chalet. Our group had such a great time, we decided to make it a semi-annual excursion. One trip in the summer and one in the winter. Thank you to Linda and Jim Mueller who own the cabin. I cannot say enough good things about the chalets (although I'm tempted to keep it quiet so that we'll have a good chance of availability for next time!); the location couldn't be better, the buildings themselves are adorable, and Jim and Kelli are pleasant, engaged, and helpful managers. The weekend before Thanksgiving 2013, we spent a glorious three days at this charming, cozy, warm and lovely chalet number 23. The accommodations and enmities were magnificent!! The Chalet is two story with a total of three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and complete with every possible utensil you can think of. There was also a washer and dryer and a marvelous collection of Board Games! The Wifi service was very robust much better than most major hotels. There's also HD TV service with an excellent large flat screen TV. The scenery was so inspiring that we were just in awe with the beautiful snow, trees and nature. You can see the skiers coming down the slopes all day long. The Chalet is hands down much nicer than a hotel and charmingly homier than a condo and also dog friendly, which most hotels and condos are not. It is directly situated behind the main Lodge and just a few steps to Mountain Bike Center and Gondola with many hiking trails starting right at the front door. Mammoth Mountain Chalets is in partnership with the Inyo National Forest. I could write much more on how wonderful our stay was however, what put the cherry on the top was the incredible and genuinely warm service we received from the management team of Romey, Dale and Tim. They were the most thoughtful and accommodating folk we have encountered ever on any of our many travels. When we arrived they greeted us like family. It was around 8:30 pm when we arrived, there was a snow storm with temps in the 20s, and Dale helped us with our luggage and drove us up to the Chalet in a Snow Cat. The chalet is just a few yards away but with 12-16 feet of snow a regular vehicle could not pass. BTW - The Snow Cat service is included. Anyhow, this was a memorable mini vacation and we plan to come here from now on. Mammoth is one of our favorite places and we have been coming here for decades, both during the summer and winter seasons. We only wish we had discovered this Chalet long ago. Just ended our stay here in Chalet #14 and had a great time. This is a hidden gem for sure! Literally ski-in / ski-out, even with the low snow this early in the season. They pulled up a snowcat for our large group so that we didn't have to wrangle our gear through the snowy 100 yards to our cabin. Even at my age this was an exciting treat so I'm sure kids go crazy for that. Like other reviewers said, the cabins are not luxury but they are very clean and well maintained and have everything you need for an enjoyable weekend. Staff was very accommodating before and during our stay. I would recommend bringing your own pillows (for this chalet at least - others may be better equipped). Such a great place to stay! The proximity to the mountain and lifts is amazing. Had there not been a 20 foot wall of snow between our chalet and Chair Lift 12 we would have been able to ski in/out. Staying in a place that feels like home after a long day on the mountain is so much nicer than staying in a hotel! We stayed in Chalet 1 and it couldn't have been more perfect for the 5 of us. Perfect amount of room. The PlayStation and games and movies came in handy while we were relaxing after the lifts closed! Best family vacation in Mammoth! If you want charm, and ski in/ski out, nothing beats the Mammoth Chalets! We rented #6 for a long holiday weekend and it is adorable and so conveniently located, right next to the parking lot. The best is in the morning, we could ski directly to Main Lodge...and to get home, you just ski right past chair 12 right to your door! There was a snow dump of 18 ft the week before we arrived so our chalet was covered in snow but there was a tunnel and path dug right to our door and access to loots of wood for fires in the fireplace. Kids loved sledding right outside too! Loved the cozy decor...my family of 5 had plenty of room too. Debbie and the staff are incredibly accommodating and gracious. She helped us haul all of our stuff to the lodge in a snowcat...another fun aspect about staying in a chalet. All in all, a great experience. read more

Definitely recommend this place! Walking distance to the slopes. Some are ski in ski out but others are a little walk down a driveway. We stayed in chalet 4. Sleeps 10 people. These little A framed houses are so cute and cozy! We all felt very at home. Nice sized kitchen with cooking utensils as well as a wet bar with a small fridge. Comfy couches with plenty of room to sit and watch tv or chill in the living room. I like that the downstairs bathroom has the sinks separate from the toilet and shower so multiple people can use the bathroom at once. I will definitely stay here again! read more

My family and I were heading back home from a week stay in Lake Tahoe and decided to stay in Mammoth for a couple days . Found the Chalets on line and were able to book a couple of nights at the last minute. The manager , Romie, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Our place was one of the smaller chalets but was perfect for our family of four. Very clean and had all the essentials of home. Location could not have been more perfect. Walked to the main lodge where our kids enjoyed all of the activities. Great access to all of the biking trails as well as a nice hiking trail to Minaret Summit without getting in the car. I stayed a week from June 15th -21st 2015 in Chalet 23, what a great secluded Chalet this was had everything you needed for cooking and cleaning you don't need to bring up anything very well stocked. The on site Managers Kelli and Jim are hands down the best you can ask for, there customer service is 110% and because of this I will come back next year and the year after that. What makes this place such a gem is that for a 50.00 pet fee you can bring up your dog to stay with you. When I first arrived the place was so clean that you would never expect pets have stayed here in the past. This unit backs up to the open forest which is perfect for taking your dog out on the many hiking trails right from the Chalet. At night it was so quite you could hear a pin drop. Every night between 5:00 Pm and 6:00 PM Kelli and Jim make there rounds collecting your daily trash and because of this I did not see one bear while I stayed there. Oh and if your nights are cold there is all the fire wood you need and that is included in your stay. read more

We stayed in Chalet #23 for a week during spring break. The chalet was exactly as it was represented on the website. The chalet was clean and everything was in working order. The management team of Jim and Kelli Rogers were absolutely the easiest and nicest people to work with. No hidden fees, no misrepresentation of the property or services. There is absolutely no other place I would stay when visiting Mammoth. The combination of the staff, the chalet and the location is second to none. read more
