I love everything about this place. Its cozy and homespun and absolutely top notch at the same time. This is not just some off in the weeds place. This is national level cooking and baking. The owner is creative and exacting without any uptight (on the front stage at least- i haven't been in the back). The summer time BLT is as good as it gets. Thick slabs of perfectly cooked bacon, fresh picked heirloom tomatoes and fresh garden lettuce on bread still warm from the oven. Bavarian pretzels that have just the right amount of salt. But this is the most important thing- Swedish cardamom rolls just like from the mother country. Not just a little like but JUST like. Shaped up like a youngsters hair up in a bun with fresh cracked cardamom chunks, not too sweet. With their good fresh coffee these can transport you to the sweet snowy peaks of Sweden. We got eight just before the c-19 shutdown and we are parsing them out- we split one every Sunday. I am praying the Creswell Bakery opens again before we run out. read more

I don't know what is wrong with this place. I've heard it is fantastic, and a lot of good recommendations for Heidi being an excellent chef. However, I've been there 3 times, and 3 times I've been disappointed. The bread is flavorless, with too much raw-baked flour coating the crust, like the dough hasn't been proofed properly. The pastries are LARGE, but also disappointing. I can bake better myself. I wanted to love this place but either Heidi isn't baking/cooking any more, or the other chefs have convinced her to appeal to audiences with the size of treats rather than the taste of quality. The muffin I bought here tasted like it came from a cake mix. Don't trust the "made from scratch" claims. They taste like mass produced blah! read more

I have been going to this bakery for about 10 mos. now. Their food is greasy and they give you way to much. When you ask for less they look at you as if your nuts. So, we don't buy any of their food. But, I do keep coming because I like the breads, especially the white sourdough and the multigrain sourdough. The problem is you never know if you are going to be able to get your bread sliced or not; we went for a stretch of about 2 mos once, than they got a slicer that could not slice the round bread. Then for about a month or two everything was fine, even with Covid, but today I went in and the slicing machine does not work again, no apologies, no time frame given for the slicer returning. It's a damn joke, but it is not funny. If they want to keep selling bread and I hope they do, they can at least buy a decent slicer that is not always breaking down or get a back up. Wildflower Bakery has wonderful bread and I have never in 21 years had them tell me the slicer is broken, unfortunately they are not in this area. Now my partner, who is slicing the bread I bought today, tells me one of the loves is scorch. Grrrrrr read more

I am not a picky eater, and I couldn't eat the soup I bought. It had an excessive amount of salt. The people with me couldn't eat it either. The food was overpriced for the quality. The only food I enjoyed was the dessert. I won't go back again. I prefer to go to Creswell Coffee. The customer service, food, and prices are better. read more

This place is an absolute breath of fresh air if you've been spending any time in Creswell. Kind people with healthy attitude/consciousness. I really like all of the food I've had from there. Oh my gosh, this place is so great! The service is great. These people really care about what they serve! Everything I have ever had is delish! I love the danishes. For so long Creswell has not had a decent place to eat, but now we have an awesome place! This little bakery tucked away on a backstreet is absolutely delicious! Hazelnut sticky rolls are to die for. The ham and cheese pretzels always find their way to our house as do the scones, the bread, etc. etc. Breakfast is really good, lunch is even better! If you like your French toast actually cooked, like I do, don't bother telling the girl at the front, all you will get is a "I'll tell the cook," and a "sorry." But now the prices are quite a bit higher (pricing out many locals) and the quality and service not as good. I said no thank you to both free items. Then he wanted my first and LAST name for something free next time I came in (which isn't likely). On our journey from home in Napa to enjoy Depoe Bay with friends, we came across this special catch for lunch via Yelp (the impressive chef-owner's CIA designation was quite the draw). After the friendly staff greeting, we were quickly drawn to browse the local honey and grass raised frozen meats, wine selection & outrageously enticing baked goods! We shared the delicious house smoked turkey & bacon sandwich on awesome sourdough, plus a cup of their delicious smoky pork soup. Everything was delicious & service was great!!! We departed with more sourdough loaves, breakfast muffins, honey, and two savory pies for dinner - one meat & one roasted veggie...yummy! A very cheery baking apprentice, Brian, checked on us in the dining room and shared his interest in mastering the science of expert baking. As a passionate 'home gourmet', I am so happy we discovered such a delightful place for great service and a delicious lunch with such great attention to fresh & local ingredients transformed into wonderful foods within a great menu & setting. Thanks...we'll be sharing this with other couples meeting up with us, and am sure your cafe will be a must on our annual Oregon coast adventures! P.S. The soup is steaming hot and big chucks of meat. I had to buy the meat pies, vege pies, and vanilla bean cheesecakes to go because I was too full. I bust my own table after lunch. I was driving from Portland to Ashland, and needed to grab coffee and a snack, so I tried this place on the spur of the moment after seeing one of their billboards on the highway.
