I ordered a cake for my gender reveal on Thursday evening and requested pickup for 9:00 AM Saturday. I prepaid because I knew I'd be in a rush the morning of the party. I provided an inspiration photo and specifically asked whether a similar design (just in a round shape instead of a heart) would be possible. I was assured it would be. Unfortunately, when I arrived shortly after 11:30 AM to pick up a cake that was supposed to be ready at 9:00, it wasn't finished. After multiple trips to the back by staff and nearly 25 minutes of waiting, I was finally told my cake had been placed in the wrong area and they were just then working on it. By the time I received the cake, my party had already started. The cake itself was clearly rushed. The writing was sloppy, the piping was uneven, and the overall finish looked nothing like the quality I expected based on what was promised. I understand custom cakes won't be identical to inspiration photos, but this wasn't even executed well as a much simpler version. What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability. Beyond a quick apology for being behind, there was no effort to make the situation right despite a three-hour delay on a prepaid order for a time-sensitive event. The food was great as always. The food was so fresh and filling. Every time we visit Cretia's the quality of food and desserts never disappoints. We have been enjoying this yummyness ever since they were still in Duncanville. The staff are always friendly and happy which makes the service great. It's always really clean inside. The only downside to them moving to the location in Oak Cliff is the parking. It's terrible and the lot that was once for Cretia's across the street from them has now became a public parking lot. It used to be free to park but now you have to pay. That's ok though because they reimburse you for paying to park. Regardless of the parking situation though you need to give them a try ya'll. read more

This place is cozy and so good! We came once for the desserts and loved it so much we wanted to come back for brunch. There was only one waitress at noon on Saturday. She was present and attentive, though. The food was fresh and fantastic. The county ham sandwich was much thicker than I imagined. The horseradish was really nice. Punchy, but not too much to over do it. Wife had the breakfast blt. The croissant was a bit bready. It needed to be to hold all the stuff in. We got cake to go which is always good. I think it was okay. I've had better, dessert-wise. If you like sugary, then the cupcakes are for you. I just had cupcakes and a lemon bar. Both were too sweet for me. The lemon bar lacked the zest I was looking for, which would've helped to balance the sweetness. I had an almond cupcake (didn't enjoy flavor) with white icing (icing had no flavor--just tasted sugary). It's so hard to find a baker who strikes the right balance. For me, since taste is objective. I stopped in here today for the first time after pilates. I scoped out the dessert case and the way things were wrapped up was not super appetizing and there weren't labels to know what things were. I ended up grabbing just a strawberry cupcake this time. It was $3 so fair price. We had a slice of cake and pie tonight (4-29-26). And we were very disappointed with the slices they gave us. The slice of cake was very small. And the slice of pie was all messy in our container. It's been years since I've been here, so this review is from a recent visit. I wasn't welcomed upon entering. Which is the reason for 3 stars instead of 4. There were multiple staff members at the counter. The person who took my order was friendly and did answer questions that I had. I ordered a slice of the strawberry cake and a slice of the chocolate cake, to-go. The slices were a nice size. I enjoyed both flavors. Walked in and was immediately greeted. Walking in to Cretia's is like walking into my grandmothers home which brings happy memories. Although Cretia's has a rounded menu I came for one thing specific - dessert! However when I saw all of my options it was a little overwhelming because I knew I could only have one. I asked the lady about what her favorite was and then made my decision on the rum cake (which she said was good with a cup of coffee). I didn't make it home before digging into it and the moment I opened the container the smell of rum immediately met me. When I cut into the cake it was moist and when I tasted the cake I was like "oh, this has rum rum in it" - after a few bites I was like I should put this away till I get home. One of my friends spotted this place before our aerial yoga class this morning and she decided to stop in. It was really unassuming and I didn't realize there was a bakery/restaurant she no walked by. She ended up getting some cupcakes, but we went back after class because we wanted to see what kind of food they had. Strawberry cupcake: 8/10 Really enjoyed the overall flavor of the cupcake. I could taste the strawberry flavor and the cupcake was not dry at all. I'm not a big fan of frosting overall so I did remove a good majority of it. I did taste it and it was a tad too sweet for me but flavor wise it was good. The Oakcliff: 7/10 this reminded me of an English breakfast since it came with a grilled tomatoes and the mushrooms. The only thing missing honestly was the pork and beans. But overall this dish was ok. I really ordered it because of the jalapeño cheddar toast which is what caught my attention. I wish I would've tasted more of the jalapeño and less of the cheddar flavor, but it was still decent. I'm glad they had strawberry jelly which is a favorite of mine and the potatoes weren't bad either. Chocolate chip cookie: 5/10 now usually you can't go wrong with a chocolate chip cookie but unfortunately, unfortunately, the young lady gave me the incorrect cookie. I asked for the chocolate chip cookie with pecans because it looked more golden and like it would've been more flavorful, but I ended up with this cookie. I guess she didn't hear me which is fine. It tasted like a normal chocolate chip cookie. Lemon bar: 8/10 this lemon bar was really really good. I loved the tartness of the lemon filling. At first I was a little concerned about how much powdered sugar was on top, but it wasn't too much and it was just perfect. The shortbread base is flavorful, and it really compliments the tartness of the lemon filling. Strawberry banana nut bread: 7/10 I was excited when I saw this because I never seen strawberry banana nut bread, so I was definitely intrigued. You really taste the banana and I enjoy that they put the walnuts inside of the bread. I didn't get much strawberry taste, but it was OK. I feel like it could've used maybe some more cinnamon or something to bring out the flavor a little bit more but I know it will be good with some tea or coffee or maybe even some ice cream My other two friends really enjoyed their meals. The chicken fried chicken was really flavorful my friend commented. The gravy was really good and she enjoyed the flavor even getting some to go. She enjoyed the mashed potatoes as well. Enjoyed a business lunch meeting here. Service was spectacular. Our server was managing the whole dining room by herself and did so such gracefully -- smiling at every table. She made a hard job look effortlessly easy! Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all agreed that our food was prepared with a lot of fresh ingredients. Not a lot of places can still own that because things are often preheated and the re-heated, etc. It was clear that everything ordered for our table was made to order. I personally ordered the Rustic Nicoise Steak Salad which is described on the menu as 'Mixed Greens with a Poached Egg, Red Potatoes, Haricot Vert, Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, and Avocado paired with a Light Herb Vinaigrette.' Really great make up of a light (and very filling) salad. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself had a laid back community feel -- nothing too fancy or uptight. Decided to try Cretia's for an early dinner on a Wednesday. Service was decent. Ordered the fried green tomatoes and they were not very good. No flavor and disappointing texture. The outside seemed cooked, but I there was something soggy and unappealing about the inside. Like the corn meal wasn't cooked through. That made us change our mind about ordering anything else for dinner. I decided to get a piece of strawberry cake to go. It was VERY good. Moist with the perfect level of sweetness. Cretia's is always wonderful, I tell everyone about them. Everything is delicious, but the white almond cake is especially extraordinary. I ordered one recently and Brenda was incredibly helpful in walking me through placing the order (you have to order at least 48 hours in advance for a custom cake) and making sure I got what I wanted. They made a gorgeous cake that I was incredibly happy with and impressed everyone. You can also walk up to the counter for all kinds of goodies like slices of cake, cupcakes, cookies, and truffles. This review will focus on the non-bakery items. The staff is always so sweet and working crazy hard during peak times, especially those holidays. I am a girl who loves lunch. No seriously, if I can't have a good lunch I would fade away! My top picks here are: Cretia's Salad Cretia's Club Quiche The Trio I am always tempted to try the Knife and Folk options but they are a bit too heavy to get me through a typical work day. This place has one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in DFW. It's mainly a bakery so the bread is incredibly fresh. The fries are really good but get the fruit salad. The fruit is super fresh and the dressing they use is this nice sweet/tart simple syrup glaze, like melted down NERDs candy with poppyseeds drizzled on the fruit, it's pretty incredible. Again it's mostly a bakery so if you have a group of four or more you may want to call ahead to keep things smooth. They do have a full bar too! read more

The ambiance is always relax and chill vibes. Even to this day the vibe there is nice. However, just recently, the cake decorating has gone downhill fast. I was very disappointed with the quality of the decore which they chose to do our cakes with. Their cake prices went up, which is fine, we understand the economy being what it is and all. However, they shouldn't increase in price only to decrease in quality. I would have normally addressed this when we were there, but we were very pressed with time. Bottom line, if I'm in the neighborhood and want a quick desert from them, I'll still go. As far as ordering a cake for our occasions, I think we're going to try and find another bakery closer to us. Instead of brunch, my friend and I decided to do a dessert tour throughout Dallas, and Cretia's was our 2nd stop. I am so happy that we stopped here because the service was AMAZING, and the turtle cheesecake- GOOD LORD!!! SOOOOOOO GOOD! It was light, not overbearing with sweetness, and just all-around delicious! I also had a nice cup of coffee with it! My friend had 2 cookies and hot tea. She was able to select her tea option from a cute little tea box.
