I try to not to write reviews on any one particular night because things may or may not always be the way it was that particular night. At Cricket's in Lubbock, it wouldn't matter. This place is FANTASTIC. I used to come here as a college student and they were constantly out of beers and the service was no where near close to being even average. MY HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED!!! A group of friends and I have been coming in 2-3 times a week for the past couple of months. Their beer selection on the wall is great and constantly full. One night they were out of one individual beer, but the bar tenders did a great job offering their knowledge on other beers that were close. I was turned on to a a new beer. These people know their stuff!!! Then, each time we have been in, there has been different entertainment. We used to come and it was the same people and same music every Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Talk about boring!! They have a great mix of music and their chalkboard in the front when you walk in keeps you up to date with all of the upcoming events for the week!!! I started thinking the place was under new ownership. Then came the surprise of my life!! We came in on Fat Tuesday..... Craw Fish was being served. This wasn't just some frozen bland crawfish. This stuff was huge, great in flavor and they even decorated the place. I finally asked a server if the place was under new ownership. She said no, it's the same guy that has owned it from the beginning but stated there was a new GM in place. I asked if the GM was around and she said he's back there cooking crawfish, he's been here all day (this was around 11:30 at night). About that time this gentleman came out in what appeared to be a chef coat and those funny chef pants. He didn't look like he had been there all day. He was walking around high fiving his staff, showing customers how to eat and crawfish and really seemed to be enjoying his job. Turns out, this guy was the GM. What a nice surprise!!! a GM that rolls his sleeves up, encourages his staff and looks like he wants to be there. I don't know who to thank but THANK YOU for bringing in this breath of fresh air to your establishment. We will continue to come back and bring our friends every chance we get. I have been around in Lubbock for a long time being that I am from here. Anytime my friends and I are gonna get together for dinner and some drinks or even just a quick lunch Crickets is always at the top of the list!! Good to great service, and not to mention the new menu that includes my personal favorite the pulled pork sandwich! This place is the definition of selection when it comes to having a great experience in a bar and grill. The staff is always very personable, and with live music including John Sprott ( Tues ), Plain Brown Wrapper ( Wed ), and The Holmes Brothers ( Thurs ), you just can't beat the atmosphere! ( that is if you're into a great time ). 60 + Beers on tap, a new selection of Caprock wines and also Peach and Passion Fruit Sangria, Crickets is bound to have something to quench your thirst. If i could give this place a 0 star i would. They treat their customers like garbage. I was in there with my sister and we had just walked in and she went to the bar while i stayed at the table and rested my head down for like 1 minute. The security guy came and tapped my shoulder and told me to leave because i had my head rested down and his reasoning was i too drunk. i had 1 drink the entire night about 2 hours before i went in this place and only rested my head because it was 1am and i was tired. i was obviously not drunk at all. He then told me if i wasn't a girl he'd drag me out of there and was yelling at me when i tried to tell him i wasn't drunk. that was my first and only time going there and i'll never go back. that's unacceptable the way they treat their customers. and i've heard many other stories about them kicking other people out for no reason. read more

I've been coming here for a while. While there have been several changes over the past few years (especially over the past few months), this place has always been great. The food has gotten better and the beer selection is always amazing. Where else in Lubbock can you find 3 different ciders on tap? They recently added a half price appetizers happy hour from 4-7pm. It is a great chance to load up on cheese fries and take advantage of the daily beer specials! The service is better than ever right now. There have been problems in the past with crappy waitresses, but right now they all seem to know their stuff. They're pretty knowledgeable about the beers on tap and they all seem to have several great recommendations if your favorite is out. In all this is still one of my favorite places to be! read more

This is the place to go, in Lubbock. Tried it for lunch-- They had just started serving Chicken Fried Steak-- It was incredible. And for 5.99, just cant be beat. When back the next night, with some friends, and was blown away by the service. They have, like a gazillion beers on tap! They were busy, but serivice never dropped off. Friendliest bar staff around. We grabbed a couple of beers and found a table. In a few minutes the Manager stopped by, and I was impressed with suggestions she made from the "wall". Great selection of food to go with the beer and hospitality. Try the Buffalo Chicken Cheddar Fries! Wish they had an ATM, but all in all-- I was blown away! And they are open until 2 am! read more

If you want to drink your drink that they served you after two am SORRY YOU CANT BECAUSE PLOPLE THAT DECIDE TO GET JOBS AT A BAR WHEN THEY HAVE A FIVE YEAR OLD AT HOME WONT LET YOU! (Red head with short hair to her shoulder) and a guy that looks like childish gambino (wearing a knit sweater on this day) will man handle you and kick you out! Don't waste your precious money here bc they don't give a single fuck about there customers. They deserve to lose business and go out of business this summer bc every employee is so rude. This place is trash. My friend was called many explicit names by a customer in front of a bar tender that was kicking us out for something we didn't even do. They missed out on people that were gonna stay and pay plenty of money because of a drunk guy. This place isn't even worth a rating. -10 stars read more

My friends and I go here all the time. With the best beer selection in town it is hard not to enjoy this place. Their new food menu is good too. Luckily they kept the Cheese Fries on the new menu. Overall good service and beer and alcohol selection make this my favorite place to go. read more

Great place to go to when you're trying to relax and just hang out with some friends. Very different from the usual crowded bar scene. Lots of games for any kind of person and good music. Shane and the rest of the staff are polite and always ready to help! read more
