Wow, what a great find. It's a little, unpretentious diner. The place was packed at 9am on a Tuesday - a good sign. The service was fast and friendly, my breakfast was inexpensive, fast and HUGE. The food was OK regular breakfast food - scrambled eggs, hashbrowns with gravy and toast. I'm not looking for culinary adventure at breakfast, so regular breakfast food is OK by me. My husband, son, and I just attempted to eat here breakfast for the first time. We were honestly excited based on recommendations from friends and word of mouth. Upon arrival, we saw the sign that clearly says "please wait to be seated until everyone in your party is present." (More on that later). There were about 4 tables in the back area that were available, and we were told we could sit back there, and the server actually brought us to the tables. When we got there, the server changed her mind and said that actually, we were going to have to wait because they were expecting large parties (none of which were there yet). After we went back to the entrance, a single person arrived, and quickly sat down at one of the tables that we were originally going to be seated at. When we asked why we were not able to be seated there, they said that they had a contract with Weber State University, which would have been nice to know before they offered a table to us then rescinded the offer. Additionally, 2 people were seated in a booth for four, and when the waitress asked them if they wanted to place their order, the customer clearly said that they were waiting for two more people--so much for their clearly written policy of waiting until everyone in the party is present to be seated. Mind you, this was still early (7:45am or so), and it would have been a long wait for an open table as we looked around and many people didn't even have their food yet. Another table was being used just to fill ketchup bottles and fold napkins. We interacted with three employees total, and assess their customer service as extremely poor: we were pretty much passed off and ignored, and without any explanation as to why they initially offered us a table and then rescinded. Very cozy, home feel type restaurant. There Boss breakfast was wonderful! Their cinnamon roll was huge, I'd say a 6 inch square covered in icing! We'll definitely be coming back!! read more

I love "diner" breakfast and this place did not disappoint. It is very much a mom and pop style down home cooking restaurant. Their eggs, toast, hash browns were all perfect. When I ordered gravy I was given the option of three different types of gravy!!! I have never been to a restaurant that does 3 different types of gravy. My wife had a pancake and it was perfect. Her only complaint was the the scrambled eggs were pretty straight forward. Nothing added to them to fluff them up a little. I also had two beef patties with my meal. Good...but nothing to write home about. I would have preferred one patty that was larger and thicker. read more

This is a sister company to Sill's cafe in Layton. They have amazing SOS Gravy!! I am not super fond of the hash browns. They are usually undercooked or cold. Everything else is delicious though!! Get a scone!! Soooo good. read more

The best breakfast you'll ever get. I wish I could go in every single morning for breakfast. I've never had the lunch but I'm sure it's just as good. The cinnamon rolls are gigantic along with the scones and they both taste phenomenal. My favorites are the omelets though....or the Hawaiian French Toast on Fridays. read more

Literally the best service I have ever had. Bre was amazing! This is my first time at Criddle's, so I don't know if that's how the whole team is or if it's just her, but I am very impressed. At least two other servers came over and made sure my partner's coffee was filled exactly right as well. The food was out in under five minutes. Our server Bre was extraordinarily helpful with suggestions as well. Now onto the food. My favorite breakfast place in the world is Sill's Cafe in Layton, but this was honestly better. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy, hash browns, and a scone. The gravy was probably my favorite! My partner got Biscuits and Gravy after the recommendation from Bre that they were "the best biscuits and gravy I've tried around here" (presumably she meant Ogden). My partner had to grudgingly agree. He's a hard sell on most things, being a diehard Sill's fan as well, but he said it was the best he's had. I honestly couldn't recommend this place more highly. Wow. What an amazing breakfast. Came here on a Saturday morning and it was packed. A bit unusual as its seat yourself so there's a bit of anxiousness hovering for a table. Once we sat down the service was very quick. I hate some eggs and pancakes and both were delicious. My daughter had the French toast and it was good as well. We will definitely be back. read more

The food was average. My hash browns were a bit on the raw side. They have a menu similar to most of the cafes in the area of Davis and Weber County. Nothing unique, but my eggs were cooked well and the waitress was prompt in filling coffee. read more

First timers, I'd say gravy had the most flavor & the eggs. Hash browns were a little plain. Overall it was 4 stars for us. Coffee was Good. always one thing that keeps us going back is customer service and the server was super friendly and fast! Our food came out in less then 10mins I wish I could remember her name. We went here on Saturday morning for breakfast. This use to be a favorite of ours, but it's seriously gone way down hill. I ordered scrambled eggs, and it came with Kraft Singles cheese. Yuck! Seriously, I expect more. The gravy was cold on the mushy hash browns, and my husband ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits use to be homemade, but they were definitely canned this time. I'm not sure if they changed ownership, or are going through a rough patch trying to save money. It was not worth the money at all. We sadly won't be back. read more

We do a monthly breakfast with 9 girls we picked criddles excited to try food we were seated and was waiting for 2 more people and they informed us if the other 2 didn't arrive in 5 they were giving table away because there policy is to seat when the whole party is there they were rude about it and then stood in the corners instead waiting without offering drinks or coffee when the food arrived it was sub par and we had bus boys waiting to clear staring at us and then was supposed to separate tickets and didn't they had to figure it out up front in the line to the door some of us ended up paying for extra drinks and coffee it was confusing will definitely not be back lost 9 customers for good read more

Very fast service. Clean and friendly atmosphere and staff. Varied menu and quite delicious breakfast. Scones are huge and I highly recommend! Maple butter is amazing. Every week without fail we get an incredibly tasty breakfast and no matter what you care to order it's always good...and I mean always, and you find yourself craving it. There's never a long wait to get your order and the service is always excellent...the owners and staff are so friendly you can't wait to go back.
