WOW! FANTASTIC!!! Currently loving the Calabrian with sausage, peppers, garlic, mozzarella, and I added ricotta. Chose NY over Neapolitan crust since I prefer crispy over soft. Both types of crusts are the same thickness, so I'm told. Fairly empty on a Saturday night, lots of take out, so lots of tables available. Clean and simple pizzeria. Highly recommend! Patient service as I had several questions my first time here. When I say clean, take a peek behind the register, kitchen is also immaculate! And did I say ORGANIC DOUGH?!! Elated

We had Criscito cater my family reunion. They have a pizza oven that they bring on site. Communication with Phil, the owner, was easy before the event. Day of the event they arrive a few hours before the serving time in order to fire up the wood-fired oven. The catering menu has 8 flavors of pizza & 2 types of salad (Caesar & spinach). They also offer gluten free & vegan if desired. Our guests raved about pizzas & salads. Max & Des who ran the catering were friendly & accommodating. They cleaned up the area where we served which was appreciated. Highly recommend Criscito for catering.

Ordered margaritas pizza neopolitan taste 3.5/5 quality and Ny style pepperoni 3.5/5 taste. The dough was really good but Pretty expensive for the size of the pizza. Also NY style pepperoni pizza was the same as neopolitan. In dining experience was whatever, you dont get anyserice lol. So just order to go save money on Tip. Near by pizza shop such as Regent pizza had better pizza and size/price and customer service but I guess because they do have more ppl working. Their salad was 3.8/5

This place is amazing! High quality ingredients, delicious, fresh, made to order pizzas that are authentic Italian style. The staff is friendly and the wait times were quick. I Also absolutely loved the area and the ambiance sitting outside eating near the fountain and beautiful scenery.

Couldn't wait to eat a piece before the pic!

I was visiting Scripps and was dying for a pizza. I found Criscito Pizza and hit it on the way home. I love figs so the fig and feta pizza was the obvious choice. I like that it had mozzarella too. At pickup I realized they had gelato, it was awesome too. It is in a small retail area next to a large apartment/condo complex so a little tricky, but so worth it. I shared it was a friend and she agreed it was the best!! Great job guys. Wonderful variety and supreme taste! I will be back for more fig/feta pizza!!

I really enjoyed this place, it's a little hard to find since it's between apartments but worth it. Pizza is fresh, the place is very cute plenty of seating inside and the staff were nice. I would return and try other stuff on the menu,

10/10 -- A Love Story with Criscito Pizza Criscito Pizza will forever hold a special place in our hearts -- they catered our wedding in June 2019, and guests STILL rave about that pizza to this day. Nearly six years later, we finally made it back to their Torrey Hills spot... and let me tell you -- it's just as magical as it was on our big day. Every bite took us right back to those joyful wedding vibes. The Honey Garlic Basil Pizza is pure perfection -- a sweet, savory, herby masterpiece. The Carbonara Pizza? Silky, rich, and utterly crave-worthy. And the Calabria Pizza brings the perfect kick to round out your pizza pilgrimage. But wait... whatever you do, DO NOT sleep on the gelato. Their banana gelato might just be the best thing I've ever had in a cup. It's a flavor explosion -- creamy, dreamy, and the ideal finish after devouring a few pies. The team here is wonderful, the quality is top-notch, and the food is clearly crafted with love and care. Whether you're getting married, celebrating life, or just craving the best pizza in town -- Criscito delivers in every way. We will be back -- again and again and again. Thank you, Criscito, for being part of our forever story!

If you want the best wood fired pizza, here is your spot. My husband discovered them from their food truck and has talked about it for literally years. Customer service Is great. . Try them out. You will love it.

Criscito pizza is right next to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve This pizza spot is so close to the beach I recommend picking this up and having a picnic at the beach. This pizza is so good I cannot recommend enough. The salad was so delicious and it was so simple! Service was amazing the manager let us try the gelato flavors all of them!!! In order for us to choose what we preferred best Interior was nice, this spot is kind of new so check them out if you're in San Diego, CA! What we ordered : - 2 Calabrian Pizza's one Neapolitan and one NY style - Chop salad

Great pizza. I ordered the lasagne pizza with garlic confit Neapolitan style. Service was excellent, it wasn't busy so the worker was standing by with my to go order already in hand.

Yes ma’am. Our normal dough is sourdough. We do throw a pinch of fresh yeast in there for lightness, but sourdough starter is doing almost all of the leavening.…

Does the vegan pizza have vegan cheese on it or is it just veggies?

Just veggies but we can add vegan cheese :)

Dining by myself felt like a true gift, and it was the ideal spot to bring my journal along to write and quietly enjoy the evening. The hospitality made it even better. My waiter was so genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the solo experience feel completely comfortable. It also gave me a great little opportunity to practice my Italian! And the food? Amazing. I ordered the squid, and it was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, all paired with gorgeous views that made the whole evening feel special. It's rare to find a spot that nails the combination of stunning views, delicious food, and top-tier hospitality. If you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming place to enjoy a solo meal, write, and soak in the atmosphere, Ristorante Illando is a must-visit!

We…read moremade a reservation for Saturday at 12 p.m. when the restaurant opened, and there were plenty of tables available when we arrived. There was a greeter on the ground floor who checked us in and led us upstairs. Parking: Parking can be challenging since the restaurant is in the heart of Little Italy. There is street parking and a few nearby parking lots, but most options are paid. Service: The main reason I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5. There were only two other tables occupied throughout our lunch, but we still felt a bit rushed. When we asked which pastas were handmade, our server raised an eyebrow and simply pointed at a few items on the menu. It made us feel a little out of place since we weren't familiar with the different Italian pastas. Food: We ordered the Torre Di Antipasti, the Pappardelle Bolognese, and the Spaghetti alla Carbonara. The appetizer tower looked beautiful, but it tasted average, and I don't think it was worth the $32. When we were looking for a handmade pasta, our server recommended the Pappardelle Bolognese. It definitely had a unique texture. The Spaghetti alla Carbonara isn't made with handmade pasta, but it was still delicious and actually my favorite! Rich, creamy, and cheesy (I went for the extra Parmesan). Overall: There are a lot of great Italian restaurants in Little Italy and throughout San Diego. The handmade pasta dishes are the highlight at Ristorante Illando, and I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area, especially if you're looking for fresh pasta.

We came across Nonna's, and since I had always wanted to try it, we decided to give it a chance. The hostess was very sweet and seated us quickly, which was a great start. We ordered the calamari and two pasta dishes--one with truffle mushroom sauce and the other with braised pork. The calamari was okay, but it mostly tasted like breading and didn't have much flavor beyond that. The truffle mushroom pasta had a good sauce, but the pasta itself was very bland. Honestly, the pasta tasted like something you could buy at a grocery store and heat up at home. My boyfriend's pasta was okay as well, but neither of us felt like the dishes had much flavor, and the portions were on the smaller side. Unfortunately, the service was probably the biggest disappointment of the night. Our waiter came over, dropped off the water, and shortly after came back to take our order. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so we were surprised by how unfriendly and rushed he seemed. There was no smile, no attempt at conversation, or even a general sense of warmth. What really stood out to me, though, was watching him interact with another couple who were seated outside on the patio. He was completely different with them--smiling, laughing, chatting, and being very personable. At one point, my boyfriend politely asked if he could order a whiskey sour. When the waiter brought the drink, he literally slammed it down on our table, which honestly caught both of us off guard. I then watched him bring the other couple two glasses of wine, gently place them on their table, and do so with a smile. After that, the only other time he came back to our table was to rush us to take our plates. I completely understand that everyone has bad days, and I'm not someone who expects over-the-top service but I have worked in the food industry myself for many years so I do expect at least basic friendliness and hospitality--especially when you can clearly see that the same server is capable of providing it to other guests. For reference, our waiter was bald and wore glasses. He never told us his name. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try Nonna's, but unfortunately, neither the food nor the service left us wanting to come back. There are so many other restaurants with better food, portions, and hospitality that I would personally choose somewhere else for our next special occasion.

Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There's so many great restaurants around Little Italy. Mimmo's reached out and called us in. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. Will be going back to this place the next time we are in town.

It's right in the heart of Little Italy on India Street in between all of the other wonderful Italian restaurants. When we walked up. They have patio seating as well as inside dining. We decided to do inside dining as it was starting to get chilly outside. We were immediately seated by a wonderful hostess, and that made a positive impression upon us. The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time. Overall, this was an excellent visit and we appreciate the staff in the great energy that we received at this location. I do highly recommend it.

We ordered the following: * FOCACCIA DI RECCO w/ side of HONEY COMB *CACCIO E PEPE w / jumbo SHRIMP & STEAKS *BRANZINO AL SALMORIGLIO * PAPPARDELLE GAMBERRI * RISOTTO CARBONARA *GELATI E SORBETTI *CHEF'S CHARCUTERIE * ESPRESSO MARTINI * CARNE PIZZA As I read on some other yelp review, their FOCACCIA DI RECCO with side of HONEY COMB is so good. Looking at it, it doesn't look that much good, but omg when I tried a slice omg, as in omg it's delicious! I reccomend you guys not skip this, order this FOCACCIA DI RECCO My ESPRESSO MARTINI came, it's good, same as any other Espresso drink I've had in any other restaurant. The CHEF'S CHARCUTERIE was good, I love everything on it. For their CARNE PIZZA , I was not a big fan of it. All of the PASTAS tasted good. Only one of my son's friends ordered a burger the DAVANTI BURGER and he said it was really a good one, the burger meat patty was not dry and was very tasty. I love BRANZINO , and I always get them when I see them on a restaurant Menu, but omg this BRANZINO AL SALMORIGLIO was sooooo Salty !!! I believe that this was just probably one of those Kitchen errors for the day and someone double salted it, but without too much salt this would probably be a very good one. I don't usually order Grilled or Fried Artichoke 'coz I have bad experiences with them, always end up with a hard or chewy one, but here their FRIED ROMAN ARTICHOKES was so soft and well seasoned. For dessert we had ICE CREAM pistachio, salted caramel ,cappucino , lemon , raspberry , and it was okay. The service was great here. Other than our server, a bunch of different servers kept coming to check on us too or helped our server to pick up our done dishes. The food here was Hit or Miss, but we're definitely coming back to try for more to discover what other good foods they have here.
