We went to Crisp for the second time and loved it. We were early but were seated right away in a spot we were hoping for. I ordered the grain bowl with shrimp and it was just delicious. Originally told the shrimp was fried but I asked for it differently and was accommodated. My husband ordered the burger and loved it too. He wasn't crazy about the chips that came with it but I ate them all. Yum. I would go back for that grain bowl in a minute. My only complaint was that I was cold. The fans were blowing cold air around, which some people probably love but I didn't. Won't stop me from coming back though! read more

Really enjoyed our experience. They have a classic cocktail called the Billionaire Old Fashioned- garnished with their candied bacon strip. Sooo delicious! Charcuterie board was great.. Just needed additional bread or crackers to enjoy the fig jam, spicy mustard, etc. They were happy to bring it warm from the oven when we requested. Burger was great, Cobb salad was excellent, side of Mac & cheese with pork belly awesome, beef dish was great. Fried chicken sandwich was a little meh. I've been wanting to try this spot for a few months now so my fiance e decided to take me there for my BDay dinner and brought my parents to celebrate with us. We ordered two shrimp and grits and two beef and carrot dinners with a couple appetizers, devil egg flight, popcorn chicken and the bacon bits. The venue was nice, open and spacious, the tables dorn with fresh wildflowers. The diversity of customers was enlightening and fresh in space. I thought, oh this is going to be an epic dine experience. Unfortunately that fell flat. I should've known when the deviled egg flight tasted like they've been peeled and waiting for a long time, the egg tasted dry and flavorless. The chicken popcorn was the only savior in this trio of appetizers, the bacon bits aren't worth mentioning. All 4 diner plates were grossly over salted. I told our waitress but she apparently brushed it off without interest or concern. Our plates were barely touched and she asked if we wanted to go containers, lol. Needless to say, it sucked and a waist of $200. I won't go back. If the owners don't care enough to be concerned about what they put out I don't want to support their spot. read more

Had lunch there today, and it was excellent! Started with the deviled eggs, 6 in total and 3 toppings. All were very tasty. We were greeted by our waiter/ bartender who was jovial and a good conversationalist. He made a mean cocktail. entrees included the fish tacos: these were street size and a perfect lunch portion. The house made tortilla chips had a flake salt which was next level. The hot honey chicken and churros were perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicey and the churros, yum. I'd been meaning to try this place for a while and finally made it in for a weekday birthday brunch while 8 months pregnant. The mocktail list made me so happy! I got one that was so lovely and refreshing, very well-balanced. Food was very good. When we left, the owner told us to come back with the baby :) We did come back for a date night (without the baby), and dinner was great. Good wine selection with local options. I wanted to try the vegan charcuterie plate, but they only have it sometimes. (Overall, excellent vegetarian options, though.) Guess we'll just have to come back! read more

Excellent choice for dinner! I love their dinner menu more than brunch and am always excited to come back to try something new. The Thai shrimp with sticky rice is soooo flavorful and delicious, with the shrimp cooked perfectly. The pan seared salmon has an amazing texture and pairs well with the veggie sides. The mac n cheese is sooo cheesy and flavorful without being too salty. Also, the drink menu is really nice! I particularly enjoy the mocktails (blueberry mojito!) Efficient, especially for a large group! The food was great flavors well balanced. Preparation well executed. We especially enjoyed the appetizers --we had almost all of them! The ambiance was pleasant. The back room where they seated us was perfect for such a large group. We came here for dinner on a Monday (when most restaurants are closed). Let me tell you! The food is top notch! Filled with flavor and great portion sizes. Had a lovely brunch here on Sunday with my partner. Queer friendly and just a nice atmosphere in general. I had the salmon Benedict and it was nicely seasoned with perfectly cooked eggs. The hollandaise sauce was surprisingly fresh tasting even though we ate toward the end of the brunch service. We shared the brunch combo board thingy with French toast, waffles, and bacon. The French toast was awesome but the waffles were too sweet for our taste. They were cooked perfectly though so that's just personal preference. Bacon was nice and crispy. The French 75's were delicious and boozy just as one would expect. Our server Kenny was really on top of everything and took extra steps to make our experience perfect. Legitimately one of the worst plates of food I've ever had. Not run of the mill bad, either: bad and incompetent. I ordered their vegan meatloaf and got a grainy, crumbly, mostly-flavorless mass. They call this Nutriloaf in prisons and serve it as punishment. Went to Crisp for a girls brunch over the weekend. Some important things to note. We had a late reservation (230pm) due to kids and conflicting schedules. Figured we could do a brunch/lunch. Their brunch menu only goes until 3pm. They require that your food order is in by 245pm. The place stays open but the kitchen closes for an hour or so to reset for their lunch/dinner menu. This is misleading online and we thought we could just order the latter after 3pm. So highly recommend getting your reservation no later than 1pm. Located in the south wedge the ambience is typical western New York a lot of dark moody wood interior but a bit of the funky south wedge style the neighborhood is known for. Parking is mostly street but was easy enough to find. We were seated by the front door and it was cold! Would recommend trying to snag a spot closer to the bar in the back. Had the rose of Pinot noir locally sourced from NYS. Was nothing to write home about but was a good day wine to drink. Light and refreshing. Went with the southwest bowl and biscuit. Now the food - this did not disappoint! It was amazing. Great flavor profile and a hearty portion. Pair it with the Cholula green pepper hot sauce they offer and it was amazing! Biscuits were super fresh and fluffy inside. Service was great. Didn't feel rushed even though the kitchen closed. We went for brunch (made a reservation a couple days earlier but didn't seem like there was a wait). We were sat in their back event room. We were initially sat alone, but it filed up quickly. We had the Big Ole Burrito and Classic Breakfast. Both were good and hearty. I wish the burrito had come with home fries on the side instead of inside the burrito or a bowl of fruit (it came on a small plate with just the burrito). Coffee was great. Came for dinner and drinks. Looks very nice inside and out & the owners did a great job. The waiter told us the beer was on draft, which came out in cans so that was not correct. My wife got the mojito and it was straight up lemonade or something--there were a few pieces of mint in the drink but was absent of any mint flavor. We got the pimento cheese app and the crispy pickles. Both were good and I would have liked to see something homemade as opposed to Ritz crackers served with the cheese. The chicken and churros was a bummer. There seemed to be no seasoning on the chicken and the churros were mushy in the middle. I've never had a churro with a soggy texture so I'm assuming it was just undercooked. Ahi tuna as Ok, but the horseradish sauce made up for any lacking flavor. We also shared the fish taco, which came out as one large wrap. It was flavorful and my favorite dish that we tried. I wanted to give this place a good review, but it was underwhelming. After Brick and Ivy closed, I'm so glad Crisp went in so quickly! Call to make a reservation - they are pretty popular! The restaurant is decorated very nicely - I love the exposed brick! The menu has a lot of crispy things but not everything is overly fried. I was also happy to see a bunch of vegan options on the menu! We tried the popcorn chicken and bacon appetizers. Both were excellent! Our favorite thing of the night was the shrimp entree! When we go back, I'm definitely ordering it again! We also got the vegan burrito which was pretty good! For dessert we got a special ricotta which was excellent. Drinks were also really good and they have a great selection of wine and beer. The server was also very good.
