The absolute BEST desserts in St Pete hands down- better than any dessert you'd find at a fancy restaurant nearby. Listen- you must give this place a try. Yes, it's kind of a burger place, but it's also got so much more. Croissants, ice cream, lattes, small international grocery area (think Japanese Oreos and European lays chips) and amazing tea. But the real winner is the desserts in the smaller pastry case next to the register. They even had homemade Jaffa cakes- amazing. Will be back often. Also the service was beyond amazing. Extremely attentive, the owner held the door for us and wouldn't let us throw our own trash away he personally took it from us when he saw me headed inside. 10/10 read more

My best friends and I are going to France this summer, so to do some planning, we thought it'd be fun to enjoy some pastries and coffee here! While the coffee wasn't my favorite, the pastries were divine!!!! Big wow to this mixed berry thing that had blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, some sort of whipped cream... it was so light and airy and delicious. The almond croissant and the blueberry and cheese danish were also both so yummy! This was the perfect spot locally to get us excited for our trip. Absolutely loved this bakery! If you're ever in St. Pete, do yourself a favor and stop by. We tried the crème brûlée cheesecake and honestly it was the best cheesecake I've ever had. You can truly taste the quality and care in everything they make. The owner bakes all of the pastries from scratch, and his wife is a herbalist who creates lattes with real ingredients that actually feel good for your body, not just loaded with junk and syrups. Welcome to the neighborhood! What a cute and charming place and the owner and his wife are amazing. My friend and I stopped in and enjoyed mushroom lattes along with a spinach and feta croissant. We will definitely be back! Everything was so tasty. It's smaller on the inside with seating for about 12 people. This French bakery has been an absolutely godsend for the Grand Central District. I need everyone to go here so that it doesn't also become victimized by the landlords that apparently hate letting us have food options on this block. There is a sign on the counter describing the kind of butter and other gourmet ingredients that go into their incredible pastries. I'm literally writing this while savoring an enormous, flaky, absolutely transcendent chocolate croissant. The savory pastries are incredible. The eclairs are divine. They'll even make an affogato! (Though with ice cream instead of gelato. Still delicious!) The pastry chef is also really sweet and obviously takes great pride in his work. European style cafe. Limited pastry options and looks like all sharing the same dough. The croissant texture is more like a bread, do see the honeycomb though. Prices for the pastries are reasonable since this is downtown. The seating is comfortable and the deco is tasteful. read more

We stumbled across this adorable new cafe this morning while wandering up Central in search of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. When we saw the line at our usual place a few blocks away was probably a half hour long, we kept walking. We stopped for a moment in front of Crispy Avenue by accident, The sign out front is not large, and the shop is new (opened 6 days ago) so we almost walked right by - I'm so glad we stopped though. We each had a croissant breakfast sandwich and they were fantastic. The owner, "Dragon" makes everything himself from scratch. We had the opportunity to chat with him and learned he starts his day at 2am just so that he can have these delicious treats ready for the day. HE MAKES THESE CROISSANTS BY HAND FROM SCRATCH! They are buttery, flaky, perfection. Did I mention he makes the croissants from scratch? Everything a croissant should be. Worth every calorie. We also tried the GF swedish almond cake, and one of the danish, and they did not disappoint either. Dragon is clearly a gifted baker and is putting out some seriously inspired food.
